Unreliable, dishonest, Money Grubbing

We've had essentially the same experience as many other reviewers here. Our internet is down a lot and takes hours--and sometimes days--before it's up and functioning again and we almost never get reimbursed the hours we were without service. The local office closed a year or two ago and phone hours for customer support have been so severely restricted that they're never available when the internet goes down (which, interestingly, almost always happens in the late afternoon or evening and AFTER SpeedConnect's tech support has closed). On December 26-27, 2018, our internet went down AGAIN and was out for a full day and a half. I contacted SpeedConnect 4 times, requesting a refund of the hours for which we paid but had no service. I was told "No, we don't do refunds or anything like that...especially for customers." Wha...??? Finally, I decided I'd had enough and scheduled a new ISP to install modem internet. I had the new provider all set to go, then discovered that SpeedConnect was refusing to refund the money I'd just barely paid in advance for the current cycle. I've been a customer for almost 6 years now and have always paid in full and several days in advance of the start of the new cycle. I made the cancellation/refund request only 1-2 days into the current billing cycle, yet they still refused. Since we're low income and can't afford to throw away $69.95 AND pay for another ISP and modem, I had no choice but to reschedule the new service and deal with one more month of SpeedConnect. In addition to the huge inconvenience of rescheduling in and of itself, the change completely screwed everything up with the new install order and has also led to ongoing problems with my phone lines. Most recently, SpeedConnect is claiming that cancelling their service (effective at midnight January 31st) now prevents them from refunding any of my money. This, despite the fact that I made the request several days BEFORE I told them I was cancelling service. I'm pretty sure this exactly is why they now require payment in advance...so they can sneakily zero out your account when you schedule cancellation and then claim they "can't" refund the money you've lost due to their lousy, unreliable service. Ultimately, I deeply regret ever going with SpeedConnect. They were actually pretty good at the beginning when they actually had local support available. But they've gone completely down the tubes over the last 3 years to the point where I'd never recommend this company to anyone and will be glad to finally be rid of the aggravation.

Never heard of them, sorry. Please tell me you didn't call to cancel.

All cancellations must be placed in writing and served via Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested a minimum of 30 days prior to the beginning of the final billing term. You will receive dated signature confirmation which is admissible in court should it come to that,

Normally at least making something on your bill counts not with them shut me off before full payment was even due couldn’t wait 5 day for full payment then called talk to rep Christy she was snotty n rude

Slow unreliable no support

I have been a customer since they bought from commspeed. HAve promised for at least yrs 3.5 that they would be getting us a faster service. no dice . instead have set up markets in nearby cities leaving their longtime customers service to deteriorate. Service is now so slow( Especially evenings) can't load even my banking website. tech support is now closed After 7 so they are of no use when something goes wrong. % of days with no service has gotten more frequent.If a new provider would become available in my area bye! bye! speedconnect

No internet and no customer service on a Sunday Sucks! I’m also getting constant reduction of speed and have to reset my router almost daily as well.

They are going to force my hand to pay someone else for service when I really don’t want to switch. I wish they would improve service and customer relations instead of only collecting money.

Bad service and tech support

Service out and still out over 1 week. Called everyday getting a message that they are working on the problem. I was sent an email giving me a number to cancel my service. Called and was told the problem is on their end and due to excessive snow they couldn' t get to the tower to fix it. Was told that they hoped to have it repaired that afternoon. That was on Wednesday. This is Saturday and still no service. The snow they were referring to was almost 2 weeks ago and has mostly melted for a week.

For over a year I have complaining about slow speeds and dropped service....Finally today after my 15th call they finally admit it is a problem with their tower and are not going to fix it. Now I live in Michigan which is home of their cooperate office and actually live about 45 min from there, so whats does that say about them? wont even fix their problems where they live and eat!!!!!!! ...The thing that really gets me for the last year this has going on and its always been nope no problem with us must be your equipment, now this comes out ! Says thief to me been taking my 50 bucks a month for over a year knowing full well they have problem and are not going to fix it! And now they are expanding in other states you other states take this to heed stay the *** away from speed connect

Do not recommend at all! In our area, the towers are over crowded and I have been told this several times by Tech Support and a Technician that came out. Internet has been hit or miss for a long time! Sometimes it don’t work at all and other times it’s so slow you cannot do anything. Tech said we had good signal....it’s just a problem with overcrowded towers. People pay for a service and have a contract, but SpeedConnect is NOT living up to their side of the contract....which is fast service. Cannot do work from home at times and kids cannot do homework at times. Ummmm...can you say class action lawsuit? If they don’t want to address the issues, then compensate your customers and shut down!

After hours service/outage

I'm very upset at this point with speedconnect in general. I'm even more upset that now there are no after-hours contacts.

It gives you a generic message and then hangs up on you. I found it in an email that goes to the sales team but no other email contact. How are we supposed to report an outage if we can't contact the company? They used to have after hours techs, but not anymore.

At this point I'm seriously considering switching to a different company. The WiFi is spotty and intermittent to begin with, now I have no one to contact if I have problems unless it's during their business hours.

Yes I also think it’s *** customer service you pay for it then after hours or on the weekends you can’t get no help or make a payment over the phone unless it’s by internet and if it’s on the weekend it obviously doesn’t update immediately I paid the past due like it said to restore service and still nothing maybe we should get a free month when this happens

I have had the same problem for a long time! No one ever available after hours.

I live in the country & work later than they are open. My daughter has homework on line & can't do it a lot of times because Speedconnect is closed. I'm very dissatisfied with the service they promised and I have not received.

Checking how to get out of contract. They have promised tower updates since I got it and never happened.

ridiculous.. I was with a smaller company and then speedconnect bought them out so as far as I know I don't have a contract with them.

It's just a matter of paying a little bit more so I have to find that in my budget.

As soon as I have the money I'm going to cancel speedconnect and go with the other company in my area. What sucks is for those of you that don't have any other choices!

I really hope they do not stick you with your contract seeing as though they are not providing promised services. Also they are shutting down all Land based wireless services at the end of this year so they really do not care about maintenance .

They will be reselling "at a more premium price" Viastat satellite internet services. They probably want you to cancel so they can collect your early termination fee.

Do not have them for your internet service provider! I have been out of service for 2 days now! They have no tech support and nothing on their website with helpful info. You cannot call them on a weekend so you are just out of luck! Will be finding a new service provider on Monday morning at 8:00!

There data usage cycle and there billing cycle are different . The charges for overages are Ridiculous Then they removed there on line data monitoring site . It would seem they would like to see you go over and have very little transparency.

Cigna account

I was trying to send an email with all the details in the email address i.e. sales@***.com however I have received an error notification stating this email address doesn't exist. Request you to send me an email in my email address sraboni.deb@***.com for the Cigna accounts as I am trying to set up a proper channel for paying the Cigna bills from November onwards.

There service crashes OFTEN. Not daily, but weekly. I’ve got 10x2 service, but I’m regularly between 2-5 x .5. This company is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. I’m glad they are going out of business and I hope the owners go bankrupt. I wish nothing but the worst for them in their future endeavors. I thought Washington had the most crooks until I signed with SpeedConnect. Do everyone a favor and just close your doors for good.
