My wife was struck by a hit and run driver on 12-23-2005, I had Spartan Insurance, they do not have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage here in Texas. My deductible was 250.00 dallors, I notified Spartan that I had been involved in an accident, they told me that we did not have uninsured motorist coverage.
I later found when we switched insurance carriers, that they reported it as a loss of 250.00 and that we were at fault, even though I sent them a DPS official report showing that it was due to a hit and run driver who fled the scene. They to date have refuse in cooperating in helping me correct the inaccuracy, and it has caused us to have increased rates. Spartan is a "shabby, shady," insurance company.
Avoid them if you can.
