Have not paid off trade in
We purchased a vehicle from Southwest Kia in Austin on July 12 and traded in our vehicle. It is now August 23 (42 days later) and the vehicle has still not been paid off.
We have contacted the dealership (we were brushed off the first time and have not receive a return phone call this time).
We have called Lithia and left a message with no return call either. This is ridiculous!
- Bad service
- After sale - poorly handled
Preferred solution: Our trade in paid off!

Misleading Advertising -
Do not trust the online advertisements of this dealership. My sister and I learned this the hard way.
Southwest Kia of Rockwall consistently lists used demo cars as new cars without any indication in their advertisements that the "new" cars are actually used cars. This is in violation of Texas State law (Texas Administrative Code Title 43 Sect. 215.255), and I have reported this violation to the Texas Attorney General and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
If you want to know the real business practices of this dealership, google "Southwest Kia Federal Trade Commission" to see the past shady business practices Southwest Kia of Rockwall engaged in.
In our case, Southwest Kia listed a Kia Soul VIN # KNDJN2A22H746**** as a new vehicle in late April. The dealer gave us the run around on this vehicle, and would not give us an OTD price without us coming in.
When it was sold on May 2nd to another person, this vehicle had 11,800 miles on it according to the Carfax Report that we pulled. This is not an isolated incident since there were also other vehicles listed as new that Southwest Kia admitted via email were demo vehicles.

SOUTHWEST KIA ROCKWALL- I can not express how excruciating this experience was . One star is 3 too many.
Got our bottom line deal confirmed though text and email. Went with full payment in hand, had added the car VIN to our insurance. Test drove our selected car and handed over paperwork and check.
#1 Issue - we were told they couldn't sell the car we agreed on because it was a "punch" car, but they did have a second car we could buy. We finally agreed to the second vehicle with a few added perks at servicings. Started changing the paperwork with the second cars VIN etc.
#2 ISSUE ... after being on property 1:45 minutes we were told the second car could not be sold at their negotiated hard copy price either because we were paying in full for the car.
Do NOT waste your time at this dealership if you value honesty, customer service and fair business practices!
Want to buy a car that is already sold?
I am only giving them one star because when I first got there on Saturday I thought they were super helpful. We purchased an optima hybrid that apparently was located at mesquite.
Put money down and did all financing with the understanding that we would pick the car up Monday afternoon. Monday afternoon I got a phone call saying the car had been sold from Mesquite a week prior then to find out that the car I had bought was a totaled optima hybrid that had no engine. had to take a half day off of work to go back up there to be told they didn't have any other comparable models for what we paid for the totaled car. The sales manager would only allow us a "deal" on a car that was the same price or cheaper than what we paid for the totaled car.
At no point did I believe any of them besides our salesman was actually sorry they had just done something illegal. Not to mention we intended to buy a brand new car from them as well. Their consolation prize was a hyndaui sonata which they attempted to pass off as just as good as an optima that had 10K more miles than the car we had bought with "1600" off the msrp which it wasn't worth to begin with. I specifically asked to speak to the General Manager and to have what they did put in writing and signed and I got neither.
This dealership is a joke and a shear waste of time. If you want to waste your time and still pay for an over priced vehicle this is the place for you!

Verified Reviewer | Arlington, TexasSouthwest Kia ripped me off. FTC finds them guilty of deceptive trade
Description: Did not honor advertised price of a used carI recently purchased a 2002 Honda Accord from Southwest Kia.
During the transaction period, June 1st to June 3rd, I brought to your attention the car you first offered me was listed for 2 different prices on your company website. You insisted there were not the same car even though your employee, Chris Ramiez, confirmed it was after I brought it to his attention during a phone conversation on June 2, 2015.
The same car was for sale on your web site for $10,990 and $7265 vin #1HGCG16532A00529. (See attached). When we talked on 6-3-15 you insisted they were not the same car and would not honor the lower price. You did offer me the car for $9700, $300 less than the first agreed price.
I have written letters and submitted a complaint with the Dallas BBB and you just ignore the fact you ripped me off.

Federal Trade Commission Finds Southwest Kia of guilty of deceptive tradeGovernment ActionsThe following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below. On February 20th, 2014, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) entered into a Consent Agreement with New World Auto doing business as Southwest Kia and its subsidiaries to settle allegations the business deceptively advertised that consumers could purchase a vehicle for specific, low monthly payments when, in actuality, consumers would owe a final balloon payment of over $10,000.According to the FTC complaint, Southwest Kia's ads allegedly violated the CLA and Regulation M federal laws, by failing to disclose certain lease related terms, as well as TILA and Regulation Z federal laws, in failing to disclose certain credit related terms. The consent order agreement prohibits the dealerships from future engagement of similar deceptive advertising practices. The order also prohibits the dealerships from misrepresenting in any advertisement for the purchase, financing, leasing or any other associated costs of motor vehicle sales. The Consent Agreement was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.For more details visit www.bbb.org

Sothwest Kia - 2012 Kia Sorento Review from Houston, Texas
I purchased a 2012 Kia Sorento , that I was heart broken I only had it for 6 months.i didn't have GAP ins, so my ins odd everything want paid. April our sales lady arranged it so we could add the 5k left, and she added it to over onto a different brand"" Because of her, we will always deal with KIA.
Customer service goes a long with.
Thank you Shelley, we are coming to try and take advantage of your Sorento again. *&÷×+$#/&* :) see you soon
Deceptive sales practice by Southwest Kia in Rockwall Texas
Basically they used the Bait and Switch tactic during an attempted sell with me and my daughter. We agreed on a 2015 Sorento but while signing the paperwork we discovered the paperwork stated this was a 2014 model.
When we brought it to their attention they denied it but did tried to sell us a 15 of lesser value.
We refused and left, General mgr and sales mgr were very rude and obviously knew they had been caught. I was a repeat customer here but will never go back there again and will probably never buy Kia although we own two at the moment, not for long though.
Soutwest Kia of Rockwall--Crooks!
I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership and was taken advantage of. They told me my interest rate was 9.99% but after I signed, they changed it to 19.99%!
They were supposed to "mail me" a copy of my contract, and never did. They never return any of my calls.
These guys are super nice on the sales end, and everything APPEARS legit on the back end..then they *** over after you leave.
Now I'm so upside down in my car that I cannot trade it in.
DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR FROM THESE CROOKS.
Southwest Kia Rockwall SUCKS.
I traded in my 2010 Honda civic to them on may 8 2012. I called they said they had me pre approved "just come on down and sign the papers on a 2013 Kia sorento" supposedly the payments were going to be where they needed to be everything looked PERFECT.
I drive an hour away NOTHING WAS in place. The sales person was expecting me she came over and told me "she was helping a friend out" anyway waited for TWO hours and FINALLY she came to help. She went back and forth with the finance man shuffled papers made it look like she was "trying hard" anyway my payments ended up 200 more than what they promised me to get me down there.
After that everything was great... Until now, it's June 12,2012 And my trade in STILL is not paid off.

I had the same type of deceptive practice used on me! I saw a 2013 Kia Sorento advertised at a specific price and when I arrived at the dealership they said they are adding an $800 fee to the sales price that was advertised online!! They are CROOKS, avoid Southwest Kia in Rockwall at all costs!!
