Ya your story sounds like a crock of ***. Srt does everything they can to get drivers home.

Yes it may be in a timely manner but you have to think of how they have to look for loads getting you that way. And quitting because you couldn't get home. Was a *** idea. You couldve more than likely been home instead of being a *** and turning your stuff in.

IDC what anyone says. All companies have their great points and there horrible points.

Guest

Sorry to hear about your wife, but as far as you.... It sounds like you brought some of it on yourself.

You should have taken the permit book and prepass and keys into them when leaving. There are always more than one side to every story. What was the rest of that story and the full truth.

Don't ever put yourself in a compromising position when leaving a company. Be responsible and do the responsible and mature action of making sure they receive all of the equipment and items that were given to you when you were first hired.

not to mention the company is not required to get you home apon request . they say you get two days off after 14 out and that you have to give a 7 day notice if you need off. unless it's life or death or you are needed to care for her then the FMLA would protect you

really...I've been here 12 years and have been treated great the entire time..so when will I see the ship sink?

Guest

Just wait! It'll be your turn soon enough, sorry to say!

They had

a bunch of Administration People ( a few executives too!) leave last year, because they were getting so bad! The only good people are in Maintenance. But they have to be!

DOT Regulations say so! There's a reason "rats abandon ship!" Think about it!

Guest

I live in Columbus, Ga. Seems like you pretty content. How often are you home?

Guest

I also drive for srt and I also love my job! Well, kinda! Not as many miles as with my old dispatcher but the new one is good too!!!

Srt is AKA SKID ROW TRUCKING

THEY THROW OUT A GOOD SALES PITCH BUT NONE OF IT IS TRUE. dispatch is 2nd rate they will leave you sitting for days between runs.

1 run I had was 700miles and delivery date was 6 days later. they would not allow me to drop and keep getting miles they told me to just deliver this load. i sat for 5 days on this 1 and made about $40 a day for that week. layover pay will put you in the broke house.

requesting time off was a disaster and never got a single day off and had to quit to get a day off. VERY DISHONEST COMPANY.

Everything you do they want you to use your money and then to get rienburst for it and you have to fill out paperwork and send to each department they stiplify and if anything is wrong on that papaerwork you dont get paid and no one calls you to correct it you are SOL. BIGGEST CLUSTER *** OF AS-HOLES AND IDI-TS I EVER SAW.....

Pretty sad is what these folks are.one the lowest paying companies in industry, do not have apu,s but you cant idle your truck..the tell you you get $20 an hour after the first 2 hrs at the dock, which you will never see..you have to beg to get fuel and you are treated like a 10 yr old kid..they told me 37.5 to get me in the door, last hour of orientation they said 34,what do you do..first settlement was 31.5 cpm..the claim this and that.it will not happen...they try to drive your truck from the desk the are stting at..so i have decided they can do that.they suck..and they will not pay you money back..and yes they do have pre pass but you have to pay for it, it is deducted out of your settlement

Hmmmm your story sounds like you sat their trying to make up a *** claim against SRT. Also sounds like you never once transflod your receipts for reimbursement. So my claim on you is that you didn't know what you were doing in the first place.

SRT are lairs and theives

SRT is OWNED by COVENANT. ALL of SRT Trucks are leased from Covenant to SRT. When you transfer to Covenant from SRT.Covenant is sooo nice, they will tell you anything to get you to drive for them. Then when you do,SRT tries to say they fired you,but you don't find out unless you file for unemployment! Then, you have to fight to get your unemployment! Then, SRT does NOT pay you all the money from your last load. They claim, you owe them this or that for the truck on an itemized statement, they send you, and this is when you are a company driver! Excuse Me! Since when, does a company driver have to pay the company's expenses, for THEIR equipment? Plus, they yell and scream at you on the phone, when they don't like something, you are telling them!Even if you remain calm! You have to call the sheriff's dept (if ur smart)when you turn in your tractor at the Texarcana Yard.Just to alert them, as to what's going on!Just so their on the ready. Because you never know, what, these people will do! They strand drivers habitually, because they don't want to do maint.on the trucks, etc. Then, they wonder why guys leave them? My tractor broke down so many times, the maint.guys and I were on a first name basis!A couple of the Maint. Guys were on a first name basis, with a lot of hole in the wall shops and big shops, nationwide! Then you wonder why that is?

My husband went to orientation an on the road he hasn't been home in 3 almost 4 weeks. 1st check deposited in account was less than $775 for all those mile and time gone. Not feeling good about this company. He's willing to work but those paychecks better start looking better are he will be gone,he can get a job that pays better an be home more. He has also done a lot of setting because he was early for his delivery. At orientation he wasn't thought about paying lumpers. He also thought it was 99 percent touch free freight.

Been with SRT 2 years now. Only had to help unload once, which I didn't mind, good excerise.

Totally right on the pay. Specially if you are driving regional. If you're looking for a high paying job, SRT isn't the place for you. I have been driving for over 45 years.

Locally and over the road, and haven't found much differents in the companys.

When you find a driving job where the company really looks out their drivers, hold on for dear life. No major problems yet at SRT.

Guest

Well if you're looking for big paychecks, you won't find them at SRT.

Guest

been with SRT 12 years and have never had a problem. I would say your husband is not doing his paperwork correctly.

Ive never had to unload a trailer in 12 years..we are 100% no touch. Last time I handled a pallet Jack was during the days we had the cruise line account and a driver had to tailgate the load because long shore man make the big bucks and do nothing.

Guest

Oh boy holy gee ma'am thanks for the review

Ok this is ***. Sounds like he is a student.

Either that or he sucks at driving.

I'm a SRT driver and this is far from ordinary. Its a total be review.

Guest

I'm also curious if he made any payrol advances? also they don't pay for orientation which is 3 days!

if he's been gone 3 weeks how long has he been in his own truck ?

after his first week of driving it would be 5 days before he got his check for that and depending when he got his truck it may only be a partial . if he had to do any training they only pay $450 for each of the weeks with a trainer

Guest

Srt is a no touch freight company they will pay for lumpers he just needs to send a mac 11 and they will put it on his Comdata card. Im not sure why his money isnt there if he's getting the miles.

Thant dont make sence to me . i been here for 3 yrs and love it.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1046608

to me it sounds like he's not doing things correctly. it's 100% no touch freight and the company pays for the lumper.

and as for as his mileage pay is he calculating based on miles driven or dispatched miles. as it goes by dispatched miles which is zip code to zip code not practical miles

Always out, no home time, the pay is not good , could make more working at Burger King

Drive has ask to come home, dispatch hasn't routed him home in over a month, the company says they will charge$ 500 if he gets off the route,we will be talking to an attorney and the labor board. He doesn't think he is getting his 40 a mile, it doesn't add up,he has gone a lot of miles for little pay. Not what the recruiter or the web site said it would be. If SRT TREATS ALL DRIVERS THIS WAY,no wonder they are always looking for drivers. Drivers have to go home some, and they shouldn't have to worry about there pay being taken for going home. SRT truly just cares for SRT NOT THE DRIVERS. IF YOU WOULD TAKE CARE OF YOUR DRIVERS THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF SRT

YOU ARE CORRECT SRT is very disappointing company. You do not want to work for them. I had similar problems. Ive just recently got hired at SRT 08/12/15 Waited two days for a truck;the truck was *** as ***. I complained about yet when on a load anyway . I drove for 2 days and had to bring truck back to terminal for breakdown issues. Got to the terminal thinking im there for.my breakdown problems and when i got there at 9:30-10:00 at night i was told by a dispatcher i was terminated and to go home. Never explained to me why or what i had done which im saying to myself what did i do?Still never got any explanation to why, never talked my dispatcher, never even talk to anyone concerning why i got terminated.Everyday since 8-14-2015 ive calling to talk to my dispatcher or to their manager still no one could tell my why? Who should i talk to about my problem because they put a termination on my background after 7 days of working with them for no.apparent reason and that is Bull ***

They do the same thing when you transfer to Covenant! However, you don't find out until you have to fight for unemployment.

Covenant is no better, they lie to!

They wonder

why this industry is in the dumper and there is a 300,000 driver shortage? Duh!!!!!

Guest

Get a lawyer brother, went through so much *** with this company just for speaking my mind. I tried to transfer to their sister company Covanant, and got screwed by both companies after sitting in Tennessee for a week for orientation at covenant. As long as companies use hire right, it is what THEY said you did, not the truth.

File a complaint with The State Labor Board, State EEOC and then go The Fed. DOT FMCSA. File with The BBC also

They had my Unemployment Benefits Stopped

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I worked for SRT for 1-1/2 years, had an accident and was eventually fired because of the accident, so they say. However since the accident and before the termination I drove three trucks for them, the wrecked truck I drove around Dallas til they had me get into a daycab to do my dedicated runs, then after my accident review and being cleared by my safety manager after watching the videos he had for me to watch, they assigned me a 2014 Kenworth, and sent me on my way to do my usual runs. The head of safety called me, and told me I was terminated, played dumb like he didn't know I was in another truck that I had been cleared and told me I was termed at 4:59 p.m. I had to park and wait on the van to bring another driver to drive the truck back to the terminal. I put my stuff in my car and left and file for my unemployment the next day, and was awarded unemployment of $393 a week. 8 weeks of unemployment then I got the news (I was out of town) that my check was cut off cause SRT appealed and got a reversal on the decision for me getting unemployment. They used that stack of papers that we are forced to sign when we come to orientation to say I knew a policy that the company had regarding being fired if there is an accident and that's what they used to overturn my unemployment. They didn't follow that policy, because they knew of the injuries the day of the accident and should've fired me then, instead of working me the remained of that day, the remainder of that week, and the next week, cause I went to Texarkana for the accident review and i agreed to go on suspension cause I didn't want to drive at the time. When I went back in the following MOnday and met with Leonard in Safety he cleared me after i watched the videos and i was assigned another truck by my fleet manager Elizabeth Reneair, and was terminated after I put my stuff in the new truck and took off headed to Irving, cause they didn't have any empty trailers on the yard in texarkana. These low down dirty excuse for a company blocked my unemployment, it's not like they pay that, it comes from the state and federal government from the taxes paid while i was working that year and a half with they incompetent tails.
