Bought a southern motion marvel sofa. Has 2 bad places in the leather ,sent arm cover the color was off, better to have bad spot than off color, wouldn't let installer put it on. Back don't line up cushion don't line up, replaced framework, same problem. Got it October 2019 and still not fixed. Should have been replaced. Most I have ever spent on a sofa, worst experience. Replace it.

Broken sofa frame

Poor workmanship nailing the front 1 by 3, about 6 nails in the same location weakened the wood and split. Trying to contact them they do not have a service number or email listed. Couch is now 3 years old and bought from a furniture store that is out of business.

Bought me a Southern motion Marvel sofa, 2 bad places in the leather, sent new arm cover, color was off,wouldn't let them put of the off color ,cushion don't line up, back don't line up, replaced frame and still the same. Sofa should have been replaced, 7 months and not fixed or replaced yet, the most i have spent on a sofa, and the worst sofa and service repair. DON'T BUY

Bought marvel sofa Oct 2019, have not got my sofa repaired or replaced yet .Always had lazy boy and is a much better product and service. If this sofa don't get repaired or replaced soon, I am going to the BBB not the way I wanted to go,replaced frame on one side, with same problem. Gap on one side is a inch wider than the other , cushion is over a inch back from the other cushions' picks will show problem.

I bought this from Ashley's Furniture in Bryant, AR. Kevin has been very nice and is trying to help, but this furniture will never last.

One side of the couch will not recline unless I help it. Both arms of the couch the stuffing is moving around and you can see an impression where you rest your elbows, the stuffing on the back cushions is moving around and not where it should be, the seat area is hard and the stuffing is flat, the recliners where you rest your legs is is mis-configured, and the middle seat area is protruding out further then the side seats. We do not sit on the love seat that much so I have no idea what problem it will have in the future. Like I said we have had the couch maybe 4 months. I have let Ashley's where I bought the couch know about this and they are working to order parts to correct what they can. I have never ever bought anything that has turned out so bad in my entire life. When you work hard for your money only to be robbed like this you have to tell others. If I had done my research I would not be in this situation. Poor, Poor quality!!!!!! Below are the pictures I can send. You can not see the poor quality of some of these issues in pictures because the damage is just starting, but you tell in person. These four thing alone are bad enough, the couch is only about 4 months old!!

WORST RECLINERS WE'VE EVER OWNED

Ordered 2 custom covered power recliners and took delivery in December 2019. Had to practically beg the store to deliver them before Christmas. In July 2019 had to call the store for service to both chairs. Nothing was right, the fabric on the back of the chairs is only attached with Velcro strips, and would not stay attached. I am sure the material should have been permanently attached in some way. The left arm of my husbands' chair had no wooden frame in it and sunk. The backs and seats of both chairs had next to no padding, felt like we were sitting on the springs. The store sent a guy to take stock of our complaints and try to stuff the back and seats with fiber fill to get some comfort out of our nearly $2000 investment. Then he tried to rig a piece of wood in the arm of my husbands' chair and a month later it sunk again. It is now too frustrating for both of us to deal with the store and directly with Southern Motion with absolutely no results to date, July 2, 2020. My frustration led me to post this experience and advise the public to avoid all contact and purchases of this brand of recliner, they are JUNK and the so-called warranty and service is a JOKE. I CAN'T even give this a 1 star review because these chairs are definitely NOT the ones we tried in the store. Save your money and do your research, but most of all try sitting in the recliner before making a purchase and find out if indeed the manufacturer and the retailer will stand behind their product.

Do not purchase Southern Motion leather reliners. Poor quality leather, didnt last 3 years before cracking and yes we conditioned the leather as instructed. Back to Lazy Boy and fabric!

Electrical issues with sofa recliner

After 6 months the right side recliner stopped working. After calling the place of purchase, they sent out a person to look at it. Upon turning the sofa over, he found that three or more electrical connections had actually melted and caught fire. He unplugged the complete sofa from the wall and took pictures. That was the last I heard from them. Model is the 705-78 Cagney Wall hugger sofa.

I bought a reclining sofa and within 3 days it leaned to the right (side I always sat on) today 2 months after delivery my head rest no longer comes up and pokes out the back. The Worst part is there is no customer service to contact!!! Go to customer service page and it just tells you how to register the product.

Paid a pretty penny for a three recliner leather sectional and a leather reclining sofa. Only had them for about 5 years...with only one person in the home. They started cracking and peeling all over the place and look horrible. Of course it is out of warranty. I called two different leather repair companies only to be told that my furniture was not real leather but had a vinyl coating. While real leather can be restored the vinyl can not be repaired. I spent good money to have good quality furniture that would last....now I’ve hot furniture that looks terrible and can’t be repaired. This was an expensive lesson.....hope my experience can spare others from being taken by SoutherMotion.

Will not honor warranty for product purchased from Exclusive Furniture

I purchased a reclining sectional (Southern Motion) from Exclusive Furniture in November, 2019. I was delivered with one of the pieces damaged.

The delivery guy phoned in a claim as well as I to Exclusive Furniture the date and time of delivery. Delivery documents were documented and initialed by myself and the delivery guy. In late February, 2020 Exclusive sent a tech to recover the damaged piece......with fabric and stitching that did not match the original. The tech filed another claim, as I did that day, and he left.

I have repeatedly called Exclusive with no response. Poor customer service from both Southern Motion and Exclusive. I'm getting ready to sue them both. Seriously.

I would recommend to ANYONE: PURCHASED YOUR FURNITURE FROM ANYONE OTHER THAN EXCLUSIVE FURNITURE AND CERTAINLY AVOID SOUTHERN MOTION FURNITURE AT ALL COSTS. YOU WILL PROBABLY SAVE MONEY IN ADDITION, AS EXCLUSIVE IS NOT INEXPENSIVE.

We purchased the Southern Motion Big Man (Hercules) Recliner from Sheely's. We thought we were getting a quality product. We purchased from this store before but were not told the particulars about this item. We should have been told there was a known issue that the chair is not heavy and can topple over. We ordered it and waited 8 weeks for it. When it was delivered we were very excited however realized the first night that there was something not right. We had a relative over who has small children. The one wanted up with my husband who was in the chair and the child stepped on the foot of the recliner (that was extended) and the chair came forward. I thought my husband was going to fly out of the chair and the child was going to be on the floor with either the chair on top or my husband. We thought there was no way Sheely's would sell us something that was so unsafe; maybe it was a fluke this happened. The next day I was reaching for something on the table behind the chair and happened to lean on the chair. I thought the chair was going to flip backwards, and I was going to be on the floor. We reached out to Sheely's with our concerns, and they sent a technician out to look at the chair. He said that chair was structurally sound and nothing was wrong with it. We traveled back down to the store to speak with someone. The store is an hour away. The manager we needed to talk to wasn't there. We showed one of the staff from the customer service area what our concern was with the recliner, and she relayed it to the manager/buyer. We received a call back a couple of days later. They did agree to take the chair back. We had a chair in mind we wanted and were able to get that chair. We did have to pay a $75 restocking fee and $99 delivery fee. For us it was worth it because the chair is very flimsy, not sturdy and most importantly unsafe. When the chair was picked up and the new one delivered (same day) one of the drivers said that the chair is just made that way. I told him we should have been made aware of this issue; that there is a chance that the chair can topple over. We have our new chair and my husband and I feel so much better that the chair we have now is safe. We are not apprehensive about having small children to the home going forward.

Preferred solution: Stop selling the Big Man recliner without some revision to the base to make sure it is sturdy. And would like reimbursement for the additional cost that the furniture store charged us. A total of $174.00

Poor quality

If I could give zero stars, I would have. Purchased a Southern Motion sectional and some additional furniture besides before Christmas of 2017 and received furniture early 2018 as it had to be ordered. We purchased the Guardsman insurance with it. We had to call Guardsman in 2018 because the electric controller on one of the recliners in the sectional wasn't working. We also had a cushion crush on one of the seats in the sectional. We were told Guardsman would call to set up repair. They called a month later to set up repair and in the mean time the electric controller went out again. I could go on and on with calls and revisits the electric controller continues to go out. Bottom line in the long run we found out the cushion crush is not covered but it is now too late in the warranty to get it fixed. Avoid Southern Motion product line and don't get the Guardsman unless you never plan to use it.

I have a recliner that the foot rest metal supports literally snapped. This is $1000 recliner.!The recliner is less than two years old.The manufacturer did send me the replacement parts so so far so good!
