Damaged table

Table delivered was damaged the owner assured me it would be taken care of I have all our messages saved in messenger with her stating so now I am blocked on messenger and Facebook they change the name of the company to William Walker furniture I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Im going to take them small claims court. I am out 1600

Well they were named Southern Age GYPSI.. Never deal with gypsies, travelers, pikeys, ect.... It's their "culture" to steal, lie, cheat, con, and much more.

Its clear that this company is very untrustworthy and not worth the hassle. They most likely dont even hand make their furniture as claimed, looking at their shop products. Go to ikea. At least theyll be honest and give you the products you purchased.

Poor Quality and Dishonest Owner

Would give zero stars. Within the first year table started to separate a little and within two years the table top is completely falling apart, cracking and separating.

I reached out to the owner via Facebook asking her why my table is separating and what we could do to fix it and prevent any further separation. I never got any response so later I tried to reach out to them on their Instagram page. I sent them the same message to their DM. I also commented on their most recent picture saying I have been trying to reach out to you about an issue with my table please contact me as soon as possible.

I got no response still and since you cannot delete peoples Instagram comments they decided to delete the picture entirely. I was being ignored and not only that, but they have blocked me from their Facebook so I can no longer comment on any of their post or send them any messages. I decided to call the company and I left a voicemail saying I was interested in a table. The next day I received a text and replied that have actually been trying to reach out to you for a while now about issues I am having with a table you made for me.

I resent her the pictures of the table and explained the issue. She immediately placed the blame on me not taking care of the table properly saying that I should have been conditioning the wood and that it may be a humidity issue as well as sunlight (mind you my dining room table is in a climate controlled house and not in direct sunlight although that should not matter). I asked her then if I was supposed to be conditioning the table what product she recommended me using. I never got an answer to that text message so that is when I decided to call her out on being unprofessional and how I know that she blocked me.

When venting my frustrations to her she even replied with a laughing emoji. After much fight she stated that if I truly felt that it was a construction issue she would look at it and try to fix it.. when asking her what the fix would be she said that she could not tell from the pictures and would have to see it in person. I posted my issue to a woodworkers blog to get professional opinions every single one of them agreed that it was a construction issue and could easily tell what the issues were just by looking at the pictures.

They warned that this company obviously doesnt know what they are doing and are learning on peoples dimes. If people that have never seen the table before can clearly identify what went wrong with the construction phase she should be able to tell me the same and how to fix it. Unfortunately, the only fix is to completely remake the table top altogether. Something that this couple clearly doesnt know how to properly to begin with.

Do to that and their complete lack of professionalism I do not trust them to bring back my table to fix. Do some research (bbb.org, Yelp, etc.) and youll quickly find that you should purchase elsewhere!

I agree. I have nothing but problems from my table that was made.

I was told by another furniture builder that they didn't even use furniture grade wood. They used to have a place to leave reviews on fb but they have taken it down. Ink kw that there has been a lot of terrible reviews for them.

My table wasn't even like the picture that I sent them when scheduling. I ended up getting a new one made from someone else 2 years later.

There's too much money involved to let this happen.

Bad customer service/poor communication

I have tried very hard to work with and communicate with this company for seven months. Unfortunately, I still havent completely received what I purchased December 2020.

A few piecesI purchased in October 2020 worked out great for the most part but still had issues with pickup. She kept pushing my dates back and then suggested they deliver for free. Even then it was difficult to get wet I had already paid for. Once I got it, everything was great, in good shape and exactly what I purchased.

When I purchased pieces in December 2020 I was told I would get them by March. I ended up not getting them until May. They promised to do liver but did not. We had to pay someone to go get the pieces.

Never did I think I would be incorrect after speaking with her so many times about the order. It is now mid July and I still cant get the corrected order because there are always reasons as to why she is too busy to deal with me. I would stay away from ordering from this company despite the pricing and popular style. The headache is far worse than what the furniture is actually worth.

Apparently they order most of the furniture in pieces and then assemble it. However,They also do custom furniture. I ordered a custom made coffee table and two end tables. The quality is very poor.

They didnt even take the time to sand the bottom of the legs after they cut them off.

They painted over sawdust and sprayed white paint on the tops, getting it onto the stained wood. The legs are jagged and look terrible.

Dishonest Company

I contacted Southern Age Gypsy regarding a sale. When questioning their sale pricing, I identified they are increasing their pricing claiming sale prices and being dishonest regarding their pricing.

First red flag was they didnt list the pricing on the ad. When I obtained a quote their was such a price gap between pricing from a post only one day apart. Then when I asked about references and reviews they claimed they never have had their reviews on and could provide references. After researching reviews on this company, seeing unfavorable feedback from customers and seeing they have turned their reviews off on their page....seems this company lacks honesty, when I questioned this they blocked me.

Seems they wasnt happy with me finding out the truth. Even gave me a thumbs up, I have pictures from the communication. Wanted to share my experience, make sure you read about them...and questions why they dont have their reviews turned on?? Seems they are hiding their bad reviews, what business doesnt have their reviews on???

RED FLAG!!!! Sketchy!!!

Sadly there have been several negative reviews about the quality of their pieces. It sounds like SAG can make beautiful pieces but don’t acount for expanding and drying wood or proper painting and staining.

Unfortunately they have terrible customer service. They ignore, delete, then block any negative feedback or concerns on social media.

Terrible customer service. I haven’t had any issues with my bar stool, dining table or tv console but have had nothing but issues with the side tables and coffee table.

Also the dining room console. Wrong wood was used and it doesn’t match the other pieces. Won’t communicate unless I get irritated in my messages. Very difficult to deal with.

Won’t be working with them again.

Don’t recommend. More trouble than the furniture is worth, by far.
