Hi, I have a GB4 Soundcraft mixer, we had a big chimney fire here and the room where the mixer was, and switched on, was full of smoke and soot particles. An insurance assessor told me that any electrionic items where likely to develop faults from the acid smoke being pulled in through the ventilation grills by the cooling fans and tracking across the internal cxircuit boards, and this can happen progressively.
A Samsung television in this room has developed a visual wide bar accross the picture and my mixer a couple of days after the fire, was switched on and then cut out, fuses seem ok, cant get it on. Two questions is there a fan in a GB4 and do you think there could be an on going problem due to substances from the fire inside the mixer that a new one would be a preffered route rather than repair, when another board could perhaps also go down. Really appreciate your help we do a lot of work in a charity helping SEN children and the mixer, although old, is important to us. Best wishes Gavin.
