Can't get my SOS online account cancelled

I have been trying for hours and hours to get someone at SOS online Backup services to help me first, to get their backup system to actually backup my computer. On 8/15/13 I discovered, by mistake, that they had not backed up my home system since 7/6/13.

I could not get anyone on Chat (after 5 minutes of waiting a screen came on stating noone was available and an email will be sent). The email was sent to me 5 hours later at that time I had already figured out what to do. I waited on the phone for (1) hour just to be told there was not one available and then the phone hung up. Then I sent three more emails asking how I could cancel my subsription (I was not going to deal with a company that would not even respond to my chat request, phone or emails).

I decided to go with Carbonite online backup and they actually had a technical person who talked to me for over an hour helping me and all I had was a trial version of their program.

I still am unable to cancel my account with them and I am paid up until 2014. Their is nothing on their website that allows you to cancel an account, only to upgrade one.

This experience has been so frustrating that I don't even care if I can cancel, I just do not want them to renew in 2014.

I have no way of telling by the account information available on their website, if I have a renewing account or just a one-time purchase.

I had exactly the same experience - every detail - as the user above. I just cancelled my account by finding the hidden "cancel" page as the user described. Thank you!

Ran into the same think last night. I googled SOS account cancel and found their "hidden" account cancel page.

It says my account has been canceled, but I'm suspicious since it claims the confirmation email could not be sent due to an unusally high volume of email on their resend server.

We'll see. I screen captured the page though, so will dispute if they attempt to charge me.
