I owned a franchise in Winnipeg in the 80’s. I personally was not harmed by John Kresz but I witnessed many who were.

His biggest scam was getting young franchisees to go to a new city and open up multiple stores as a partner but in reality you never owned a thing. Heard someone put a hit on him well he was retired in Vancouver so he left town or even the country.

Do not ever invest in a Sooter Studios. John Kresz the owner has gotten rich off the backs of people he sold studios to then he charged them royalties and all sorts of other fees and charges, forcing them to give the studios back to him. His agreements are worthless. Check out the records for failed Sooter Studio Franchises. Call a few current owners and see if you can find out how happy they are.

Sooters has ruined people's lives, taking life savings and ruining dreams. They sell the studios to their current employees, then suddenly they change the prices and the terms. You are stuck. They will hold your work costing you customers who cannot get their portraits from you so they hate you. Sooters hires bullies who strong arm the store owners and literally drive them into the ground or into the grave. My cousin owned one and I worked for her for 3 years and I saw what they did to her. She lost everything because they provide such *** lab work, do not keep commitments and just want more money. She was held hostage. Her orders were held to the point she could not face going to work because her customers were screaming at her for their goods and she could do nothing to help them. She took that abuse for years and it eventually contributed to her death. I hope they go bankrupt.

They have been sued numerous times and always lose. They have been sued for some pretty serious matters such as one person was gravely injured. Do not take my word for it....GOOGLE SOOTER STUDIOS CANADA OR SOOTERS OR JOHN KRESZ AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. I DO NOT KNOW HOW HE AND HIS FAMILY SLEEP AFTER THE GREAT NUMBER OF PEOPLE THEY HAVE DESTOYED. BUT THEY DO NOT CARE. HE LEFT THE COUNTRY. I HOPE ALL PEOPLE BOYCOTT ALL SOOTER PORTRAIT STUDIOS AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER.

CHECK OUT THEIR REPUTATIONS ON HOW THEY TREAT EMPLOYEES. FIND OUT HOW MANY TIMES THEY WERE TAKEN TO LABOR STANDARDS AND LOST. FIND OUT EVERYTHING ABOUT SOOTER PORTRAIT STUDIOS BEFORE YOU EVER BUY ONE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE SET UP TO FAIL AND THEY WILL TAKE THE STORE BACK AT ANY TIME THEY CHOOSE...ALONG WITH ALL THS STOCK AND THE PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPTMENT YOU HAVE...THEY TAKE IT ALL. THAT IS WHY THEY TRY TO KEEP KEYS TO EVERY FRANCHISE BUT MOST OWNERS ARE SMART ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE LOCKS.

HAVE A LAWYER LOOK AT ANY AGREEMENT THEY TRY TO GET YOU TO SIGN. YOU WILL BE TOLD WHAT A RIP OFF IT IS. I MISS MY COUSIN. SHE WAS A GREAT LADY, HER KIDS MISS HER STILL EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE ADULTS AND SHE WAS AN AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHER. SOOTERS BROKE HER HEART AND STOLE HER MONEY AND DREAMS.
