Incomplete brake job
Went in to their service department due to spongy brakes, got a call the next day and they said by rear caliper was hung up and they needed to replace it. They replaced one rear caliper, both rear brake pad sets, and both rotors as well as flushed the brake system for a total of $954 and some change.
Picked up the vehicle and went to set the parking brake on a hill and the parking brake was not working at all. This is a 6 speed standard transmission and I use the parking brake daily and it was functional before I brought it in to Sonju. I turned around and went back and told them they did not adjust the parking brake to the new rotor. The parking brake on a 2007 F350 is a brake shoe and drum type system.
The inside of the rotor acts as the drum and tolerances from rotor to rotor vary and the adjustment "star" nut needs to be adjusted to make sure the brake shoes will make contact with the inside of the rotor when engaged thus making the parking brake system function. I spoke with Wendy, the Service Manager, and she spoke with the technician, who he related that the new rotor went right on. They never made the adjustment, but yet signed off that the brakes, brake lines and parking brake was working in their final check; this is obviously not the case because on a flat surface with my vehicle in neutral, and the parking brake engaged, I can push my pickup forwards and backwards. Basically when I get home, I'll have to jack IP my pickup, remove the rear wheels and make the adjustments to the parking brake myself.
Sonju would not admit to any mistakes or take care of the issue without charging me an additional approximately $1200 before taxes for more parts that are not needed in this instance. Long story short, I paid $954 and some change for a brake job which was 85 percent complete
Boycott Sonju Two Harbors
Boy! what lairs.
How can it be that your agreement with them ends up costing more after you are in the finance dept? You end up with a service agreement that runs the same time as your warranty? But you pay more for it? shame on them.
they don't have the cheapest cars, you give you dirt for your trade! Just stay and buy a vehicle in Duluth. Better deals honest people. When I was there the salesman's wouldn't let this couple leave!
He kept their keys of the vehicle they were thinking of trading in. I felt so embarrassed for them. That when I decided to leave myself. Bad place to shop for a vehicle.
Oh plus - did you know that they post good reviews on themselves! they really do.

Sonju Two Harbors Rip Off
I bought a car from Fill Waldo and he totally lied about the condition of the car. When I asked for my money back he just laughed at me.
He does not care about your satisfaction: He just wants to sell you a car for his profit. Do not buy a car from Phil Waldo. Buy a car somewhere else. Phil Waldo will ripped me off and he is unwilling to resolve any issue I have with the car.
He only wants to separate you from your money.
He lied about the condition of the car he sold me. Don't Buy a car from Phil Waldo!
Sonju Motors is run by a ***
Sonju Motors in Two Harbors MN is run by a complete ***, Keith McKinizie is a scamming *** artist. They advertise 100 % customer satisfaction:NOT TRUE.
They advertise a return policy; NOT TRUE. They advertise the best prices of selling below book: NOT TRUE. They took advantage of my elderly parents, ended up taking them to court.
We won but didn't get all of the money back not to mention the embarrassment and humiliation my parents felt after dealing with them. We spent over 6 months and many phone calls, emails, and letters and then ended up filing in small claims court just to get part of the money back.

You probably bought a car for a few hundred bucks and thought it should last forever. You sound pretty ***! :cry
You bought a car as is and now have buyers remorse. But on an as is sale you have no recourse. Learn to live with the car and it's problems.
