Blame Faulty Product on Customer

I purchased a pair of oatmeal colored cotton tights that were completely covered in brown streaks of bled dye after I carefully hand washed them. My first email to the company was responded with, "looks like you have a rusty washing machine and sock gremlins... here are some other tights you can buy". Another email and a phone call later, it was still VERY clear they didn't believe it wasn't my fault and settled with, "you can send them back for inspection". But still no hint even of them refunding me. They made me feel like they knew I was full of ***. I've NEVER had a business immediately assume the customer is at fault before. It was insulting. I kept the tights and dyed them a different color them because they looked horrible.
