AI Highlights
  • - Smithsonian handed our trip to G Adventures.
  • - We faced long holds and a 4-hour callback; we couldn't take the call.

Don't sign up for a Smithsonian trip. I called 4-5 times, waited on hold for long periods, didn't receive return calls for hours or days -- and when Smithsonian finally did call me, I was in meetings and couldn't answer.

I sent another email explaining that I need to communicate via email. No answer (5 days since I sent the email).

I requested a copy of my contract with Smithsonian. No response (5 days and counting).

I booked a trip with Smithsonian. Smithsonian turned our trip over to a 3rd party, G Adventures.

A conflicting event came up for us, and we tried to reach Smithsonian to find out what our options were for changing our trip plans. I called the 'customer service' number and was left on hold interminably. I then chose to get a call back, and it was 4 hours before they called back.

Of course, when they called, I was in a meeting and couldn't take the call. Then I had to start the whole infinite loop again.
