Healthcare Fraud-Dr. Ngo at Smiles4fairfax $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Went here in April this year after my insurance changed. They confirmed over the phone accepting my insurance. The day of the appointment, I arrived at the office, which is very clean and nicely decorated. I was taken to the back and it went downhill from there. I was there for a routine cleaning, but unfortunately the patient before me was new to this country and had not had dental care in a number of years. I knew this because I could hear the entire exchange between her and Dr.Ngo. Long story short, she required gum work and had to have several teeth removed. Unfortunately, this was happening while I was waiting for my cleaning. After 3 HOURS, I left still fairly satisfied, even after being told I had 9 cavities, and being repeatedly asked if I drink soda (I don't). Fast forward 7 months, and I return to my old dentist since he now takes my insurance, who tells me I have NOT met my deductible for the year. I tell him about Dr. Ngo's visit, and his biller looks into it. My deductible was not met because Dr. Ngo's office does not take my insurance after all! I went back to review my EOB and ,sure enough, my responsible part was $220. The funny thing is I NEVER received a bill. I called immediately, worrying that it had been sent to collections. I was "reassured" they do not send bills to collections until they are more than a year old. That made me feel so much better ( sarcasm intended). They would have never sent me a bill unless I contacted them first, and what's worse is they could not give me a reason as to why a bill was never generated. Oh, and to top it off. At my recent dental check up, my old dentist reported I have ZERO cavities

Dr. Ngo Destroyed my Bite - Horable experience with Dr. Ngo Dentist office in Fairfax.

I was a patient with Dr. Ngo for about two years (2012 to 2013) before I decided to switch practice. While I agree with the other reviews about Dr. Ngo and his staff being nice and personable, my experience with the treatment he recommended was awful. I also learned the hard way that Dr. Ngo recommended unnecessary treatment for me that affected my bite permanently which also contributed to my TMJ issues which I have been suffering from since after he touched my teeth. One of the things he recommended in my treatment plan is extracting my perfectly fine two wisdom teeth. At first I was hesitant about removing them as I had no pain or cavity in those teeth. When I brought my concerns to Dr. Ngo about extracting the winsome teeth he promised that I will not miss them and he also convinced me that the sooner I get them out the better and easier for me. His confidence made me trust his opinion while I should of not. Since I removed my wisdom teeth my bite has been off and that affected my TMJ. I started having really bad headaches and jaw pain due to my uneven bite that was caused by removing the wisdom teeth and other drillings he did on my teeth. I believe Dr. Ngo goal is to recommend as much treatments as he could (necessary or not) to his patients so he could build his experience quickly and collect as much money as he could. His aggressive and invasive treatment approach can cause irreversible changes to your bite and your dental health. The reason why I decided to write this review is to let other reviewers know that your wisdom teeth are great assets to your bite and jaw health most of the time and please seek a second opinion when irreversible treatment is suggested which I should of done myself before I agreed on Dr. Ngo treatment plan.
