Smashing Resumes

I filled out the questionnaire, and two day later got a consultation from a "writer" who hadn't looked at my material because he asked questions that were all coverd in the questionnaire. In a week I got a resume that covered 1/4 page. Their next attempt included a gobbledeegook "Objective" paragraph followed by a list of REQUIRED classes I took to get my degree. Do engineers list "Math" on their resumés? Do doctors list "anatomy"? No, I didn't think so.

The cover letter was a fill-in-the-blank mess. For example: "Maximized efficiencies in order to________" or "Completed work under deadline _______% of the time".

I complained A LOT and finally got an owner to agree to do it all again. I filled out a new questionnaire from scratch and the writer consultant NEVER CALLED. I sent several more inquiries and NO ONE EVER RESPONDED.

Groupon finally gave me a full refund. At least Groupon is reputable. Smashing Resumés is a joke. Don't waste your time or money.

I bought the groupon for a resume and cover letter. The resume took information from my current resume and reformated it but had stuff out of order and incorrect. I think someone just spend a few minutes and threw stuff in a standard format with little effort or thought. The cover letter was a couple of sentences with instructions to cut and paste stuff from the resume into the letter to fit the employer, it was a joke.

When I complained about the poor quality of the work They did some more reformatting but not much different.

Very poor quality work, save your money. Not worth 10% of of what they charge.

I bought the Groupon deal for my wife. She submitted her request according to the instruction.

She received one system-generated automatic response telling her that she will get a professional response/edit within two weeks. Most of jobs posting in this area has a turn around time of one week. Two weeks is not an acceptable time frame for this type of service. Regardless, I told her it would be a good start as she can adjust her cover letter/resume to fit any position.

However, it's been more than a month. She still hasn't received any feedback from the company.

There are some personal information in the resume. I wonder what this company is handling the information as they are not doig anything with the resume and cover letter submitted.

I bought a groupon for Smashing Resumes ($75 for supposedly a $180 value) which was the worst thing I ever did to save money. I uploaded the information and it's been 3 1/2 weeks and I still have not received my resume and cover letter.

I have called them several times but you only get a recording. I have emailed them and gotten standard responses. I have gone to the website and chatted with people that are supposedly human. I have complained to groupon.

I still have not gotten my resume.

Nobody should invest their money with this company. Nobody!

WARNING! DO NOT USE SMASHING RESUMES.

I purchased a $75 Groupon for a resume by the so called "crafty wordsmiths" of Smashing Resumes. The promise a resume within 48 hours. First of all after submitting my questionnaire I did not hear from them for a week. That was only after I complained to Groupon that I wanted a refund.

They did a HORRIBLE job. They added a section of bull*** and changed nothing else. They did not want to give me a refund but after 4 complaints through Groupon they refunded my money (to Groupon credit). They actually misspelled the word "administrative" on the draft resume.

My second grade nephew could do a better job.

SAVE YOUR MONEY OR GO ELSEWHERE! DO NOT USE SMASHING RESUMES.

I submitted my info to them on May 23 after purchasing a Groupon for their services. STILL NO RESUME!!!!!

they don't respond to emails for weeks and the DON'T answer the phone. It is now June 19 and still I am waiting! They are only open Mon-Thurs and no holidays. The Goupon deal takes 2 weeks- only found this out after an email from them (after about a week of trying to contact them).

Is that 2 calendar weeks? 2 Business weeks? or 2 of THEIR weeks???!!! I don't recommend this company.

They do't seem very eager to please or respond to customers!!

Nothing but a hassle thus far!

Groupon was holding a deal for a percentage of professional resume writing. I missed the groupon by a day however after submitting my resume for a complimentary audit (which they audited and responded same day) they told me They would offer me the equivalent of the groupon deal if I paid them directly.

I was informed that I would have my rewritten resume back in 48 hours after payment and filled out their questionare. I paid the fee through credit card, filled out the form and waited. After a week passed I tried to contact them by phone and email. No response for 5 days.

They finally contacted me via email at 2am and said they had not received the payment. After reading the confirmation number back to them they agreed to move ahead. Another 5 days passed and no word back from them. Again tried to contact them through both phone and email.

4 more days before they replied again in the middle of the night saying that they did not have my questionare. I informed them that i had filled it out and even filled out another one and sent it directly through email as well. Another week passed. Still no word.

I have been steadily trying to contact them through phone and email with no response. I am at a month now and this company has basically stolen my money and will not return my calls.

I would strongly reccomend that you do not waste your money with this internet SCAM. I do not want to see people lose money the way I have.
