Disgusting company Smartbargains.com

I have been ordering from Smartbargains.com for years-however I had a hiatus for the past few years. I just found out after phoning that they were bought out so this Smartbargains.com is not the original and you can tell! I travel and I ordered a $39.99 Invicta watch while in London during black Friday and was declined for 'fraud' and was asked for a different form of payment - 3 hours later - I gave it - same USA address from LA - I was charged after submitting second form of payment (same address) - then received an email 2 days later stating it was fraud and was refunded. I phoned- from London -questioning this - and was told the phone number I included rang 3 times and no one answered. This is why I was declined stating fraud. I find this unbelievable as the cost was $39 ...not hundreds! They had proof of a valid address... and??? I was going to write a complaint letter - then thought about it and decided against it- why waste any more time. The company sure has gone down hill from the past.... low end merchandise - vile customer service... definitely nothing I will be dealing with again - not worth my time.

I ordered a graduation present for my sister two weeks ago it still has not arrived I just called smart bargin to check the status and they sayed the order was cancelled , but it wasn't cancelled by me . They took it upon them selves to cancel my order because I did not answer the phone the next day. Well no **it I can't take my phone into work and why are you calling me to confirm its me . I do all my shopping online and never come across this situation . The lady said its a very smart thing that they have a team that confirms its me so there's no identity fraud. *** these people are on another level of dumb. Thank you smart Bargins for F ing up my sisters graduation

OMG! That happened to me!

I heard that they have changed owners- the company is *** now - not a lot of high end products - better not to spend money with them ! Lesson learned for me!

TOTAL RIP OFF

I was looking to buy two pet carriers and thought I had in fact purchased them on Smart Bargains. However, for some reason my order never was processed even though I gave my credit card number and pushed the ORDER button. I received emails for the next week, imploring me to look at my cart on their website and purchase the items. I decided that this company was incompetent so I bought the exact same carriers on another site for a bit more money but no hassles. I never received the carriers from Smart Bargains but my credit card was charged. I have called the company at least six times and in fact left a message with customer service the last time. No response. I have contacted my c card company and am disputing the charge. THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WORST

I ordered a TW Steel watch for my boyfriend. I paid around $400 for the watch. My boyfriend noticed the hands were a little loose and a short time later the crown of the watch broke for no reason. The website said I had a 2 year warranty. They made me ship the watch to Swiss Watch International which cost me money to ship and insure. They kept the watch for anout 3 months with no word and shipped it back without fixing it. They left a note saying they could not fix it and basically there was nothing they could do. I called smartbargains again to complain they had nothing to say and there was nothing they could do and told me to contact SWI again. However, Swi doesnt have a number to call, you have to email them and wait for a response which I never got. Such a waste of time and money. Both companies are useless and have terrible customer service. I will never order from them again.

Smart Bargains charged me twice!

I placed an order in January and was charged through PayPal on that day. I was then charged again in February, through PayPal when Smart Bargains placed my shipment. I then contacted Smart Bargains who said it was not their fault and sent me to paypal. I put a claim with PayPal on February 7th, and to this day March 24, I have not been told what is going on, nor have I gotten my money back. I blame this on Smart Bargains because they should have authorized the refund immediately. I am also getting fed up with PayPal inability to get this resolved. I have been with PayPal for many years and have never had a problem like this before. I am at my wits end on how to get help. PayPal advertises that they guarantee your purchases through them sooooooo, where is my money???? I notice I am not the only one who has had this happen. Can anyone tell me where to go for help? Took my credit card 2X...didn't have either item.

Smartbargains.com doesn't seem to have their inventory synched with their estore. I tried on two different occasions to purchase two different watches weeks apart. In both cases, They took my credit card and personal info both times. I got an email confirming my purchase, and then days later another telling me they were sorry, but they couldn't fulfill the order. Both times on different products. Then I saw that they were selling the same merchandise on ebay at reduced prices. Seems as though they are just out to collect personal and financial information. What a scam! Don't give it to them.

It seems that they sell on ebay and on Amazon along with on thier own site. HAving sold on Amazon myself, I find THat Amazon is not quick to update stock levels. I would let them know that the level had dropped or I would not be selling an item anymore, and it would take them weeks to remove it from the site. I had to cancel several orders and Amazon's "security" blocked my notifications to customers until they filed a claim and I had to pay out.

I understand that SmartBargains does send some items directly from the vendor or manufacturer and may not be updated by the manufacturer/Vendor that stock has changed. I have bought mutiple items form SmartBArgains, and never had an issue.

Smartbargains.com will steal your money!

Please be careful when shopping Smartbargains.com. I purchased an item for $54.46 from them on my debit card on 10/31/09. I was charged this amount on 11/5/09, no problem. Until, I was then charged this abmount again on 11/27, 12/09, 12/11, 12/14, and 12/16!!!! I went to my bank on 12/11, after I saw the second charge on 11/27, but not yet seeing the other 2 charges on 12/09, & 12/11. I showed the bank my receipt of purchase for the original $54.46 which was paid for on 11/05. My bank rep tried to contact smartbargains.com, and to make a long story short, they said that all the other charges were only authorizations, and they would not go on my account. The bank rep told them I indeed had been overcharged. I left the bank having disputed the charges. The few days later 12/14, I see another charge! Back to the bank to make more phone calls to Smartbargains. Again, they say it is a glitch in thier system, and they will correct it, but I will not be credited the $217.84 because it will not be debited from my account.....IT ALREADY WAS and the bank rep told them so!! I disputed again, the other charges, and on the 12/16, see another charge. ;-( By now I am livid. How can this company keep charging my debit card when I authorized ONE charge of $54.46? The bank rep said a card may be charged as many times as the company tries with the same authorization number! BE CAREFUL OF THIS! I thought this would be considered fraud, but I guess it is not. I will NEVER again use a debit card for a purchase online, MY BAD! To this day, 1/11/10, I have received the $272.30 back from THE BANK, and they are now dealing with smartbargains.com, I am through. Imagine being charged $326.76 for a $54.46 item!

Smart bargains sold my personal infromation to a 3rd party who accessed my debit card for over 6 months. I only learned of this because someone hacked into my credit card and my bank blocked my card, they also found these transactions that I did not authorize..I always thought you were safe when you saw the key that shows it is a safe site to do business.

That's odd. I will keep it in mind.

I have shopped with them pretty heavily for the past 4-5 years and NEVER had an issue. Of late though, I have noticed that they don't seem to have anything anymore. Drastically reduced levels of inventory or something.

At one point I was wondering if they were going out of business! I use Amazon and Overstock more frequently now.

Returned Product And Retailer Claimed Nonreceipt

I purchased a watch from SmartBargains.com. I decided to return it immediately after I received it. I mailed it back via USPS and I don''t have a receipt. SmartBargains claimed nonreceipt and, without a receipt, they would not work with me or give me the benefit of the doubt at all (the customer is always right?). They started ignoring my emails and will not help me at all. I am payng $96 for a watch I don''t have. I know this could have been avoided if I had gotten a receipt when I mailed the package back, but their customer service is horrible and they wouldn''t take the $96 loss - they made me take it. They chose to lose a customer instead.
