LazyBoy Chair Not Delivered Yet...

My wife and I purchased a couch and 2 recliners from Slumberland in Decatur, IL. The salesman promised delivery on couch and 1 chair last week and other chair this week. The couch and chair came as agreed but I just talked to salesman and he is telling me 2 more weeks for my $600 LazyBoy recliner! In my opinion that is not acceptable, I don't think I would have bought it there knowing I would be waiting that long. I think the salesman knew how long it was going to take when he sold me the chair. I also can't help but wonder WHY it would take so long from LazyBoy or why they don't have items in stock! After doing some research I am now starting to worry that the company name brand LazyBoy I have always associated with quality may have been a poor choice. Their reviews online are horrible! Someone at the top needs to do something to salvage their reputation before it's too late...Slumberland Furniture may also want to take a look at some of the complaints online.

Trestle Wood Dresser Set Damaged and Still Waiting to have Furniture Replaced

January 2014 - I informed the extended Warranty carrier that both the Dresser and Chest have been ruined due to the extreme winter. Dry conditions have caused them to warp and look like somebody beat them with a baseball bat. A Technician came out and deemed both pieces beyond repair and eligible for replacement. In the time frame that this started, I have been dealing with Management (dating back to 2012), and still have yet to receive any replacement furniture. I have threaten them with legal action if it is not resolved within a month. ----------------------- August 2011 - I went in to Slumberland Furniture and bought the Trestle Wood Dresser Set out of Madison, WI. I took out the Extended Warranty. November 2012 - I submitted a claim to the Warranty Provider. Technician came out, and deemed that the chest top needed to be replaced. Part came in the beginning of January. The Tech came in and told me that it was the wrong part that Slumberland sent. February - May 1, 2014 - Dealing with both Slumberland Furniture and Montage Furniture, I have fought with Slumberland Management.

Poor customer service and mileading information

Don't be trusting. I purchased a sofa and two chairs from Slumberland Furniture on 4/18/13. I also purchased the Furniture care plan. The salesman said it was a good thing to do especially since the sofa had reclining motors. They will come to your home and fix the product. You however are not give the Furniture contract to read before you purchase. The furniture was delivered and placed in the proper place by the delivery men. They looked it over and said everything was good. What they don't tell you is that if there is anything that is damaged it must be found right away. Two months later I installed new drapes and moved out the sofa to do this. I noticed a small scratch. In the rear leather on the top of the sofa. Which appeared to be form a packing staple. I was not worried as I had this great Furniture Care package. The company was difficult to deal with and informed me they do not repair scratches. Slumberland customer service said I had to find the scratch with in so many hours. I got two different quotes on the amount of time from different employees. I am advising everyone who does business with Slumberland to not allow the furniture to be placed by the delivery workers until you have went over the piece .with a fine tooth comb for problems. I also would advise against the purchase of the furniture care package. My opinion is buyer beware with this company and certainly don't rely on oral information. Read everything. I will not do business with them again.

Worthless Warranty

I bought a couch in May of 2012 at which time I also bought the extended warranty. They were out in June because the back had fallen off it was repaired. Two months later the back again fell off with winter and having lots of family issues through the winter and summer I was not able to call until today to get it repaired I was told that since I did not report it within 14 days I had voided the warranty and they would not come out and repair it. Are you kidding me why does it matter when it was damaged so long as it is with in the warranty I paid for?????? I will never shop with Slumberland again. All the money I spent on my furniture there to have a warranty that is no good.

Liar in Fargo, ND

When my daughter moved out to Fargo, she needed a bed. I thought it would be great to buy from a company who could deliver it right to her bedroom the day that she moved. I bought it in Bemidji, Mn three weeks ahead of time, and the help there could not have been better. The day before it was to be delivered, she called to get a time. From the Fargo store she got ever lie imaginable- that the Bemidji company had set the wrong deliver day, that my daughter was confused on the delivery day, that the Bemidji store had not sent it over. Turns out that he did not have the bed in stock, but none of it was his fault even though we had the order to show him showing that he was in the wrong. My daughter had several nights without a bed. There was no apology from the Fargo store and no compensation given for his mistake/mismanagement. The only reason we got the bed that quickly, is because the Bemidji store did everything in their power to make it happen. I will buy from Slumberland in Bemidji, but I will not set foot in the Fargo store.

I totally agree this person. Slumberland Fargo provides HORRIBLE customer service.

We ordered a bunch of things from there in the store and some parts with their customer service line. It's been over a month we still haven't heard back anything from anyone about the parts we ordered. I called customer service again they said they'd call me back next week (they told me that last time too). I tried called back into the store to talk to the salesperson that helped us but she's never there.

I then talked to some other girl there with an attitude saying there's nothing she can do cause their manufacturers are in China. I don't even know what to do now.

I just want to cancel the order and not have to deal with this *** place no more. BAD ATTITUDE, BAD SERVICE!

Don't do business with Fargo's Slumberland. Our shy, naive daughter, just out of college, first job & first apartment, bought a room full of furniture at the Fargo store, paying full price and being sold every add-on imaginable.

When delivered, a large part of the $1,200 wall unit was missing. It was unstable, un-usable and ugly with exposed particle board where the center section was supposed to be. What followed was months of phone calls, emails, letters & visits to the store to try to get what she paid for. Slumberland was all excuses & lies, not showing up for service calls, not answering emails or returning phone calls.

We even went to the store with her to talk to the manager. We were promised that it would be taken care of and set yet another appointment for a service call that week. Again, nobody showed up. She kept trying for a few months and finally ended up throwing the wall unit out.

Slumberland won that battle. But our family has 5 households to furnish and we won't be ever be spending a nickel with Slumberland again.

How do those people sleep at night?

Sold Defective merchandise with the knowledge of salesman

While shopping in slumberland in springfield mo. I noticed a power recliner being moved to clearance area...i asked why and was told customer returned do to too large for house.

I purchased this power recliner for 500.00 reg price 796.00. After having at home for about 2 weeks ...recliner makes horrible noise when reclining and sitting up. obviously rc salesman knew that it was defective and outright lied to me . DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

THEY ARE DISHONEST. After contacting them they said well you knew it was as is...500.00 is not change...but what goes around comes around...thank goodness for karma.

Did you not try the chair in the store? If it wasn't making noise in the store, how would the salesman know it is defective?????

Clearly you are just trying to pass your mistake onto someone else.

Horrible Expensive Mattress

I bought the slumbercrest 7000 Plush mattress at your store in Rapid City, SD. I spent alot of money on this mattress because I was in need of good sleep.

The salesman there told me this would be a great bed to buy so I did. He info me of the independent springs that would make my side of the bed comfortable for me as well as the same would be true for my husband. So i bought this mattress and it is the worst mattress I have ever slept on we both roll to the middle of the bed and the outside is high sending you there. I can't sleep and so I decided to turn the mattress around and sleep on the opposite side and the springs stab you in the back.

I am so unhappy I gave way to much just wanting to get a good sleep and I find myself sleeping on the couch.

Very upset wish it could be made right.

Delivery not as promised!!!

Walked into the Lincoln, NE. Slumberland store and bought over $3000 worth of Furniture and paid cash. They set me up for a delivery date as they had to wait for a few of the items to get shipped in. I called and asked if we could go ahead and get a partial order of what was there and they said yes. However when they did this they delayed ordering the rest of the furniture, and did not tell me. I said I would take the coffee table on display, and the salesman has said no, he can't do that. Now the rest of our order will not be in for a week, and I will be out of state working. I then called the head store manager and he said he would look into it and get back to me? Well ya right that has not happened either. I am sick and tired of these stores, sales people, and managers that will smile, treat you with all the nice compliments, until it is time to pony up, and then they all cop an attitude, once they have your money!!!!! I will NEVER shop in that store again, and I have advised all of our company employees which is over 400 people to stay away from them also. I am sure they could care less, but at least we are taking a stand!!!!!

Slumberland defective product

I ordered this chair through Slumberland Online in November. It was delivered to my mother in Nebraska City, Nebraska in early December. She is 82 years old, suffers from spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia and is home-bound. From the time the chair was delivered she has had problems with it. The cushioning in the chair back has collapsed at the bottom, and the cushioning at the top of the chair back is assymetrical and obviously defective. I visited her in January, and after seeing first hand the issues with the chair, I made a trip to the Slumberland store in Lincoln, Nebraska, the closest to her home. I was told by the manager that it was beyond thirty days so no return or refund or exchange was possible, but that I could contact Slumberland about warranty service. I did that, and in early February a technician visited my mother's home and told her that he could not fix the chair because he was out of the material necessary to make the repair because he had recently done several similar repairs to the same brand and model chair. A week or so later my mother received a call from Slumberland customer service informing her that the technician had fixed the problem and her warranty claim was being closed (claim # SL690804 at Slumberland). My mother told the customer service representative that in fact no work had been performed because the technician told her he did not have the necessary material. My mother then received a second call a few days later disputing her account and asserting that the claim was being closed. Needless to say, we are not satisfied with the quality of the merchandise or the serivce provided by the merchant. We are sharing this information with the Better Business Bureau of Nebraska and the office of the attorney general of Nebraska.

Warranty on bedding was not fully disclosed

i purchased a $3,000 mattress set, Stern and foster, which came with a lifetime warranty, and a 90 day warranty. Within the first two weeks i could not have a restful sleep and ask to return it.

i had purchased the protective cover and also understood that the mattress tag needed to be attached. They picked up the mattress and indicated i was not eligible for a refund but only able to exchange it. The sales persons involved have a tendency to avoid the fine print and assure you you can bring it back in their own words. i replaced it for a $3200 set, and was told it is the top of the line.

I have been sleeping on it for a year, and when i went to sleep on the other side, i would roll down to the side i had been sleeping on. the mattress has a permanent dent for my body and does not restore itself. when i called to have it looked at i was told it would have to be a 1.5" dent before the warranty would apply. also it costs me $35 to have a service tech come out.

if i had know this to begin with i would have started at the low end of the mattress selection not at the top end. Also if we are help responsible to read the find print, the sales person should as well be responsible for full disclosure and make it clear before signing that we do understand their policy. I never thought i would work with a national chain with such a bad reputation for their customer service. there should be some relief for consumers that a told one thing and then when a service issue applies it appears to be different.

PS i am outraged at having to pay $35 for their tech person to look at my bedding!

At this price it should be free. i highly recommend you shop elsewhere with a store that truly backs the consumer.

We had a similar experience with Slumberland. Here's my email to the manager: "Dear sir or madam; We purchased a California King mattress & box spring from you in 2007.

The salesperson, [ . . .] offered us a lifetime guarantee on the mattress, on the condition that we also purchased a Protect-All mattress protector. The mattress was wonderful for a few years, but has become very uncomforable, and we would like to exchange it.

How would we go about doing this? (I stopped sleeping on it about 5 years ago, because of the sagging, but my husband kept using it until last week, when his back started aching.) We have the receipt. Thank you very much for your assistance with this." He replied: "As far as a warranty on the mattress the manufacture who is Simmons Bedding provides a 10 year warranty on the mattress which would run from the day of delivery which was December 4th 2007 thru December 4th 2017. The mattress is no longer covered thru warranty.

The mattress protector which you purchase provided a warranty against staining for the 10 year you owned the mattress which ended December 4th 2017 as well. Please let me know if you have additional questions or if we can be of further assistance."

We also bought a Stern & Foster queen size mattress, but from a different company. After 6 months, my husband (a big fellow!) would start rolling to the center.

That left me with about a foot of space to lay in. Although the mattress is under warranty, we would be responsible for the return shipping, and would also only receive only an exchange. Forget it! A costly lesson that goes to show you don't always get what you pay for.

I was happier with the mattress we had for a third of the price of the S & F! And to Anonymous from Denver, you are rude and out-of-line, and need to get in touch with your Spell Check!

Futon not delivered as promised

My futon was scheduled to be delivered September 10th, 2012 then I was told it would be delivered before the end of October. On November 2nd, I called my salesman, Nate. He said he didn't know why I hadn't gotten it because it was in the warehouse. He set up delivery for November 6th and it actually showed up. I probably won't be going back. The sales man was very nice, gave me a good deal on pillows for the bed I bought. It was the delivery that was so frustrating. If only they did what they promised. My suggestion is don't pay until delivery They had my money for 2 1/2 months before I saw my futon.
