They barring me, basically because I questioned in my emails exchange with a civilised manner about their inconsistent behaviour

On the 16th of February, 2025, my wife and I visited Slug and Lettuce in Waterside, Sale, intending to speak with Leah, a sort of manageress, to discuss why the bar staff forgot to serve us a bottle of wine with the Dinner Date menu. We've always had a polite communication with Leah whenever we've visited Slug and Lettuce in Waterside.

Nicole, who was on duty, informed us that Leah was on holiday and would call us back in a week. In the meantime, Nicole took my phone number to pass it on to Leah. We asked if we had time for a quick drink, as it was 9.30 pm. Nicole, the barwoman who was on duty that evening, replied that she did not have the ingredients for 2-for-1 cocktails, but suggested we could have a quick shot.

We complied and drank the shot quickly, thanked her, and left. On our way out, we noticed that Nicole was serving two full pints of beer to another pair of customers, despite claiming it was closing time. For a mild exchange of emails between a staff member and me concerning the forgotten bottle of wine, a part of the Dinner Date menu, we were barred from Slug and Lettuce. This seems discriminatory and doesn't make sense.

Therefore, if a member of the public points out that a staff member forgot to serve a bottle of wine, they become oversensitive and initiate a barring? There has been no falling out with her or anyone else, so I am left feeling surprised and uncomfortable with such a harsh reaction.

It feels discriminatory to bar someone simply for raising concerns of inconsistent behaviour via email. It feels as though we were victimized because I lodged a mild, civil complaint through emails.

Some barwomen have a chip on their shoulders

On 16th of February 2025, I visited with my wife Slug and Lettuce in Waterside, Sale to ask for Leah (kind of manageress) in order to discuss why the bar staff forgot to served us a bottle of wine with Dinner Date menu.

As with Leah we have a polite communication whenever we visited Slug and Lettuce in Waterside.

Nicole who was on duty she told us that Leah was on holiday and she will call us after one week.

During that time, Nicole took my phone number in order to pass it to Leah.

We asked if we had time for a quick drink as it was 9.30pm.

Nicole (barwoman who was on duty on 16th of February) replied that she had not the ingredients for 2 for 1 cocktails and she told us that we could only drink quickly one shot.

Which we did it, we complied, we drunk quickly that one shot, we thanked her, and we went. On our way out,

we saw that at the same time Nicole served two full pint of beers two punters, while she told us that it was a closing time!!

For a mild exchange of emails between I and a member of staff because they forgot to served a bottle of wine, which it is a part of Dinner Date menu, Slug and Lettuce barred us!!

How discriminatory

It does not make sense. So, if a menber of the public requested that a member of a staff forgot to serve a bottle of wine, then they become oversensitive and initiated a barring?

Slug and Lettuce act over the top

I had just requested in my emails about why they forgot to served me a bottle of wine with our Dinner menu. (We have not fell out or anything with her or with anyone else). So I am feeling astonished and uncomfortable with such over the top reaction when I have Not fell out with any member of the staff.

Is not discriminatory to barring someone only because I requested via email exchange about inconsistent behaviour? So they victimised us because I did a mild complaint with a civilised manner via emails

Barwoman (N.) served other customers full pint while she told us that we have to have a quick drink

In Slug and Lettuce in Waterside, they have a barwoman (N. ) who she exhibits inconsistent behaviour.

While she told us that it was a closing time, and therefore she wanted to served us only shots.

At the same time she served two full pint of beers a couple of people.

Food quality

2 orders of chicken fajita pasta @ S&L behind London Eye.AWFUL..COLD FOOD.NO SAUCENOODLES WERE THREE DAYS OLD LIKE RUBBER.

I COMPLAINED AND THE MANAGER. DID NOT CHARGE .BUT UGHYOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT YOUR RESTAURANTS ARE DOING.

Would not recommend or ever return to S & L

The new Manager (George) in Slug and Lettuce refused to serve us,recite as a reason a review I wrote

We are visiting Slug and Lettuce since 2017.

Since this summer Slug and Lettuce in Sale, Manchester, has a new Manager, his name is: George.

This Manager while he served us couple times a summer special menu, then he muddled up. He refused to served us if we did not pre booked, when the venue at that day was empty. We wrote a review about it.

On 9th of September we visited our local Slug and Lettuce in Sale, Manchester and this Manager ( Manager's name is: George) he said that he will not serve us, because we wrote a review about him (the review it was a benign review).

He ordered even his staff to not serve us, because as he said he did not want us to write a review.

Since when is forbidden a freedom of speech?

Can a new Manager refused to serve us, because we wrote a review about the way he muddled up the summer menu, over summer?

Or was he discriminatory because my wife is a foreigner?

George (the Manager in Slug and Lettuce) in Sale in Manchester he ordered his staff to not serve us. Because as he is said I wrote a review about his unfriendly manner on 8th of July.

The matter is pretty straightforward.

We are long term customers who we organise Birthdays and Christmas do in Slug and Lettuce in Sale in Manchester.

If the matter it will not be reached into a solution and to receive an apology: we will escalate the matter.

Because George imposed authority above his position.

And he exhibits a discriminatory manner

Slug and Lettuce in Waterside in Sale/Manchester got a bit weird, since they employed that George as a Manager. He acts a bit too much towards customers. He behaves over the top.

waitress said - what you haven't ordered desserts? It was fairly obvious that they wanted tables back and trust us, by this point we did want to leave.

We then asked around a gluten free option for dessert (informed ermmmmm not sure - yet again) and NOT on the menu. Once desserts were ordered (still sat with no drink and dirty plates on the table and still no dessert), the previous waitress returned to take our payment. After this she said said how we would need to leave as they 'needed our table'. This was obviously confusing as we hadet had dessert but there was very clearly a lot of rushing around (making us feel very uncomfortable and not welcome).

I advised we had not had dessert.. she appeared confused and went off to speak to another waitress. The disorganisation and poor communication between staff was very apparent. Very unprofessional service that made us feel very uncomfortable.

Desserts arrived by about 3 different waitress/waiter so clearly rushing around.

I then highlighted how I would appreciate if the dirty plates were removed as they tried to put desserts on the table around plates that had not even been cleared. They then partially cleared the dirty plates and just left us with desserts. Again... Still no drinks offered and our glasses had been empty around an hour by this stage.

We eventually left at 5pm.. as already said. Delaying us for another booking we had which we then had to leave as we were far too late causing a lot of inconvenience around our plans.

The service, food and quite frankly everything in the slug & lettuce left us completely deflated (also we were stone cold sober after a few 'alleged' alcoholic cocktails).

Also to add the place was freezing cold and would recommend they use the heating system a bit more frequent as well as have more staff available for extremely busy periods (most of these tables are booked in advance- like we did - so why isnt there enough staff available to manage volumes) and/or staff who communicate more effectively with one another and with customers.

I would appreciate a timely response from Slug & Lettuce around our extremely disappointing experience as long standing customers who have used slug and lettuce on numerous occasions for our days/nights out!

I will also highlight it was very clear we were not happy as I had to prompt for everything.. however nothing complimentary offered (for clearly a diabolical experience), no apology or nothing taken off the bill.

It occurred on: 2024-02-10

This meant that Another reservation after had to be cancelled that we had booked after Slug & Lettuce

Our day out ruined due to the service and experience we endured.

We felt completely uncomfortable and undervalued as regular customers with the Slug & Lettuce (we don't just use as friends but with our family and partners also).

Frustrated, angry and upset around the experience when we don't get time out normally and what should have been a nice day out with friends.
