Insurance claim denial

my boat blew up, caught on fire and sank last summer and they denied the claim!?!?! after months of investigations...no operator negligence, foul play, etc.
just a crazy accident (which is why people have insurance!) and as soon as i started to lawyer up they decided to offer a low ball settlement of only $3k. the boat (32ft cabin cruiser) was worth waaaaayyyyy more than that and the salvage bill alone was almost $10K.
shame on this and any insurance company that doesn't have the integrity to do the thing they're trusted to do. disappointed/no surprised!
