I was railroaded into paying for SiteLock. My hosting company Blue host is part of the same parent company. They gave me a free version of SiteLock without my asking. Then told me there was malware and shut all of my sites down with huge orange alerts. I contacted Bluehost and hit the support button for malware. Unbenonst to me it redirected me to a SiteLock sales person. I was told Oh my all your sites are horribly infrected. You won't be able...

i have been a long term customer of godaddy. I feel they are a good company. However I saw a malware note on my website search on google and contacted godaddy. They immediately said I need the emergency service and it will only take 30 minute2. 2 hours later someone said it will take 45 minutes. I called that evening and they said it will take 24 hours. I called the next am and it turned out the files in my website were missing (they could...

I installed iThemes Scurity and I deleted the infected pages, they were not being used on the site. I had Google rescan the site and they verified that it was not harmful. I think that I was subject of two hacks, the first from these IP's (now blocked) 91.220.131.134 91.210.145.147 The second appeared to be a phishing attack on my login that directed me to contact SiteLock who told me that it would cost me $1000 to fix. It cost me a total of $52...

My sites have been up since 2007 and have never been hacked. Suddenly in 2015 HostGator brings on Sitelock as a "Partner" and my site gets hacked every other month. Coincidence? I don't think so.....In addition I cleaned out my site from all viruses and then get an email from sitelock about the "virus" they found in their scan. After I tell them I'm not interested because I just cleaned out all the code and deleted all viruses THE NEXT DAY MY...

Do not sign and give them your credit card. They do nothing but just take your money. A Bunch of scammers!!!!!!!!!!!! I just wasted $79.99 for 6 months. They did nothing to help fix my website . I host close to a dozen websites with an host who has a service agreement with SiteLock. SiteLock scans your files to detect potentially risky scripts. So far, so good. One such script was found in one of my wordpress installs resulting in several emails sent from SIteLocks. Each email suggested that my sites had been hacked and that I urgently needed to contact a SiteLock agent. Once on the phone, that agent, who clearly had not reviewed any of...

Mary in Florida What can we do if godaddy sent us over to sitelock and my husband thought there was no alternative and signed up for $129 a month services.

I recently was referred by HostGator to SiteLock due to some suspicious code that appeared on my site. I am in need of someone to do a one-time scan through my files and remove inappropriate code. I was very put off by SiteLock's approach. When I first chatted with SiteLock yesterday, they looked into some information but said they'd need to come back to me later after they did some more digging. No one ever got back to me and when I contacted...

Metavirus Wow, I had no idea both companies had common ownership. Now it makes sense. ( Not in a good way. )

Josh Well, here is the news: Hostgator and Sitelock is owned by the same company; EIG.

Same here. The sitelock/hostgator partnership is an obvious scam. Within a week of hostgator auto renewing my 1 year plan, I started getting malware reports from sitelock. Hostgator has since shut down my account and will not restore my sites until they have been "professionally cleaned" - for which they of course recommend sitelock. I suppose hostgator figures that since I just paid for 1 year, I'll spend the $$ for sitelock rather than move to...

Sitelock is a joke. The sooner people realize that these agents are being forced to meet their monthly goal. These "managers" say they don't micro manage you but man do they take the title. Every day your being reminded you need to have money on the board. Of course the managers are going to be up your *** because if the team doesn't hit goal neither do they. I am currently working for them and looking for another employment. Agents typically...

My website stopped working, receiving malware warnings and i spent time without a website. Sitelock was referred by my hosting company. They made tons of promises, said it could be cleaned and repaired and up and running within weeks, I had to pay for manual cleaning because of the severity of my malware, and of course rode it out for months collecting fees and not accomplishing anything except excessive emails they are working on my site. I...
