Upon arrival, we were escorted to our table, number 50, and seated. The young lad was run off his feet, struggling to clean tables and wait on people. We waited 20 minutes, then decided to go to the bar for our own drinks as no one was coming to serve us. After 30 minutes, we were asked for our order. When the order arrived, it was definitely not what we had requested. The salmon fish cakes were dry and burnt on the outside, and the steak that was ordered medium-rare turned up very well done. The burger was requested without pickles or radish sauce. The granddaughter, for whom the burger was for, has a tomato allergy, so to our surprise, when she checked it, there were tomatoes and pickles in it. We never got to the dessert because after waiting for our food, we decided to skip dessert and leave. It took me 10 minutes to find someone to pay the bill. Upon paying the bill of £78.15, I asked to speak to the manager. I was pointed to a gentleman who I believe was the manager. He was already in a debate regarding the poor quality of food with another guest. I have been dining at Shire House Farm for years and always found it to be very well run. However, tonight was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I look forward to your reply.

This is not the Sir John Fitzgerald Pubs website. You should have waited to speak to the manager at the time of service. If the child's allergy is indeed "deadly" her food should always be thoroughly checked each and every time as humans do make mistakes.
