Sillman Cartridge Company - Remington 700 Review from Linville, North Carolina
- The shop allegedly lied about gun delivery.
- Delivery timing was inconsistent; FedEx then UPS.
- A staff member called a woman 'dude'.
This company is one of the worst gun shop into the western North Carolina. These people will lie to you as many times as they can.
They order a gun for me and the people told me that the company would have it in three days. Well the gun was supposed to be in on Friday, the lies they told me that day were substantial. This was a little bit more than just a lie. As a responsible consumer and business they tell me it will come in on fedex and the next instance the ups truck was bring the gun.
And as for being friendly the people call a lady a "dude", she was very upset. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.
THEY CANOT GET ANY THING RIGHT WORST EXPERINCE OF MY LIFE.
Will not honor what they sold online
- Bought 250 rounds from Sillman Cartridge Company; order not delivered.
- Owner Carl would not honor the price and claimed no stock.
I purchased 250 rounds of ammunition from Sillman Cartridge Company. I waited over a week for the ammo to show up.
When it did not, I called them to let them know I had not recieved my paid order. Carl the owner said he could not honor the price I purchased the product at. Then he said, umm I mean I don't have the product. Either way, very poor service.
Did not not offer to help in any other way.
Will never buy from this company again. Watch out for this company, I have seen other issues online since I have had mine.
I got lucky and missed these scammers
- Met MMC at Asheville show where Carl pitched MMC.
- Later found negative reviews alleging Moores Machine products are junk.
I saw these guys set up at a Asheville NC gun show. I was making my first pass through the show and Carl asked me if I had ever heard of MMC.
I was looking at lowers , I listened to his pitch and said I was going to shop around. As soon as I walked off from the table there was a small group of customers talking about how the Moores Machine products were such junk. I stopped them and we chatted I even bought them a hot dog. They had real world Intel from two they had bought that were wrought with problems.
I bought my lowers elsewhere and they built great guns.
As n after thought I searched the company and low and behold I found nothing but negative reviews and what surely looks like an attempt by the company to post positive reviews about themselves. Shame on them.
I got screwed
- Sillman MMC/Roggio AR-15s are junk.
- Castle nut backwards; hand-tight; pins wiggle.
- Stick to known brands: Del-Ton, Colt, LMT.
I purchased an AR-15 from the Sillman Cartridge Company at a gun show in Fayetteville NC this past weekend. I had several people tell me at the show that the rifles they had were from this really substandard company MMC which is a machine shop that was apparantly at one point making lowers for this company that the BATF shut down named Roggio Arsenal.
Roggio was shut down because there stuff was so far out of spec it was dangerous. This unit that I bought from Sillman Cartridge Company is in that same boat. The funny thing is these guys bad mouthed Del-Ton and their products vigorously. So I bought a del-ton rifle from a local shop and its a shooter and the moores is a hunk of junk.
The castle nut was put on wrong, it is backwards. It was hand tight only. The trigger and hammer pins wiggle out just from shaking the rifle. They blew sunshine up my but about how the MMC stuff was being used by the military.
That is a lie. Warning you should beware of the Sillman Cartridge Company and MMC or Moores Machine and Tool AR-15 Rifles. They are one and the same with Roggio Arsenal, and Timber wolf. Companies that keep disappearing and reappearing under new names with the same junky ***.
A quick look around google will show other complaint boards with gripes about their ammo as well. I have had it with these no name manufacturers at these shows Although this is the only bad AR I have ever owned as I started looking online I found complaints about Roggio Arsenal, Elite Arms, Moores Machine and Tool, MMC, Timber Wolf, and so on. Stick with a brand you know and recognize DTI, Del-Ton, Bushmaster, Rock River, DPMS, Colt LMT.
There is a reason there stuff is so much cheaper than the reputable guys, it is Garbage.
