I saw Showcase cages on line and fell in love. They are beautiful.
The website is wonderful too. Seven pages of good reviews. So I ordered one. It came quickly as advertised.
It is a specialty cage so not all fixtures work with it and Lizards need special lighting which is affected by what the cages are made from and on and on. They boast about having great service and have reviews that state getting help from them is easy.
The cage has cut-outs for its fixtures. I was having trouble finding one that would fit their cut-outs and wanted to know wattage use that works with their cages. No response no help.
I tried several times to contact them. No response.
It took many trials and errors to find lighting that worked. It would have taken one email or phone call for them to assist me. Their cages appear to be well researched.
Creating them took consideration so these should be easy common questions. It was very stressful when it did not need to be.
It took me 14 days to set up my cage. The warranty is not easy to find but I should have taken the time to find it. They have a 10-day warranty after delivery.
They make you pay for return shipping which is very expensive even if an item is defective and a restocking fee as well.
I finally was able to use the cage than the issue occurred. This cage has sliding doors that are heavy. The door had a point where it fell in and it fell in almost hitting my lizard. I contacted Showcase cages right away.
No reply. Now I had a beautiful unusable cage. I tried many times to contact them but no response.
I went on line and had a challenge finding others who had purchased their cages but finally did and it was not good news. The door had done the same thing to others.
The owner did not return calls to others. I was not the only one treated this way.
These are very expensive cages. Mine is warped, and I am trying to figure out a way to make it safe for my lizard.
Buyer beware is my suggestion. I wanted others to know about my experience so the beautiful pictures on their beautiful website do not lure you in.
Hopefully not all their cages are defective but if they are my experience and others that I have read add up to you owning a beautiful unusable cage.
