I recently had to start looking for a condo to rent in Ocean City because the condo i used to rent is being sold. With that I was referred to your company to find a new home away from home.
While on the website I had the search filters to four people because i was not positive if we would have 3 guest or 4 guest. After I found a place i submit an application and was informed I would be contacted within 24 hours. I entered the wrong number so Patti had to contact me through email. Being at work on a 15 minute break i did not have enough time to read over the email right away.
While on the phone, I informed Patti I did not have the information in front of me. While on the phone still was able to get the information in front of me and I navigated to the payment screen. Patti asked if the rental was for senior week and i informed her i was 26 and other guest were above the age of 21. I informed Patti there would only be 3 because that was the current head count I had.
After Patti kept asking redundant questions I asked her if it would be better to send over every ones ID, I was told that would not be necessary. Before Patti and i got off the phone I went ahead and made a payment towards the condo assuming that was acceptable. Not too long after hanging up Patti gave me a call back saying i was throwing red flags. One being because I made a payment while on the phone after i said i did not have the information in front of me.
Another being that i had 4 guest when i first was looking and now i was saying 3 and finally i was told i was giving little detail. Patti informed me that the owner of the condo was willing to accept the application as long as i would allow a $300 deposit. Knowing Ocean Cities reputation during the summer time i am fully aware of why owners and hotels in that matter must take precautions and i was ok with the deposit. Patti did not stop there, she continued to ask if i still wanted to rent the condo and was i sure since i was throwing so many red flags.I am not sure what system the company has in place, however i was willing to disclose any information that was needed.
At the end of the phone call i simply told Patti to cancel the payment and i would take my business elsewhere. I was simply looking a home away from home. I should not have to feel as if i am some underage teenager looking for a place in Ocean City.
I will do my best to avoid dealing with your company when it comes to anything in Ocean City. The over all experience just through booking was unacceptable.
I have the worst realtor ever. Keti Lynch in Ocean City, Maryland
My husband and I recently decided to look at buying a condo. We got pre-qualified through our bank, and found the condo we liked online.
Kati Lynch was the seller's realtor and we decided to contact her. She took us out 2 weeks ago to look at the condo, but when we arrived at the scheduled time, Kati Lynch and her assistant were 45 mins late. when we entered the condo, someone was sleeping inside. That's when we found out that Kati had never called the sellers to check their availability for showing.
However, the tenant was nice enough to let us walk through the unit. While showing the condo, Kati Lynch kept asking questions like how much money do you make, are you rich, are you sure you can afford this place, are you sure you have saved up enough for the down payment etc... Me and my husband were fully surprised with these types of questions and were partially offended. My husband tried to tell her that we make enough money and that we were pre-approved, but her English is so bad that she didn't seem to understand what that meant, she kept asking similar questions.
We then thanked her for showing the property and that we would give her an offer soon.
Four days later, when we called her office, she then immediately said not to call her until we are "fully-qualified". I then told her that we were approved for mortgage and asked her if we did anything to offended her in any way for her to act this way. She said that she saw my car at the showing 4 days ago and that she thinks we cant afford anything.
I couldn't help it, she made me so mad. I told her that she insulted me and my family and asked to speak with her broker. She LAUGHED and said "my husband is the broker, you cant do nothing" and hung up on me. I feel terrible to be treated this way.
This shocks me really. Her and her husband should not be able to practice business like this.
They should revoke her real estate license. we decided to hold off on buying a house for now :(
