every timoe i go to shoprite i feel like i've been ripped off. franklin nj...examples ask for 1 pound of fish and they give me 1.4 noenough to freeze, so will probably throw out leftovers.they don't want to cut the filets becaiuse then they willl end up with *** thin ends.has happened before...always end up not getting the items i want...so i end up going to another out of the way gtrocery store...used to buy at least 1-2 items from bakery...will not buy anymore...everything has shrunk and costs more. see you at Trader Joes and Aldi..and stop n shop .

Unethical butchers?

I have bought the center cut pork chops on several occasions. Each time, the packaging looks good, when I open it, the underside is not cleaned properly. When cut on a band saw, they use a bone scraper to clean away the bone and meat dust. Apparently your butchers would rather conceal that, than to clean the product properly. Unethical, or lazy? I have pictures, but unfortunately in this format I am unable to share that with you. It would surprise me if this is condoned by Shoprite. Produce going downhill - Wholesome Pantry is not worth it.

This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks that we have bought Wholesome Pantry apples, as they were the only bagged apples available. The apples are not crisp and very mealy - and this is apple season !! My family won't even eat these so this is just putting $$ into the garbage can. Wholesome Pantry is their private label brand and it is not worth it !! Why are they shifting better products down in quality just to prop up their private label?

Shoprite Ave I, Brooklyn NY -You need to have a PhD in mathematics to figure out the actual price you paid for an item that was on sale. Because their receipt, unlike any other supermarket I shop at, never tells you The Price You Paid.

And since the printed receipt mimics the way the cash register display is, you can't check this at the check out process. This is the ideal way for them to rip you off and it happens all the time. Signage is very confusing. Often you will find an item in several locations of the store, with different signage for it, and it could also be listed in their circular.

Signage when MUST BUY 4 is in the smallest print font often in the only place your eyes will not naturally go to. Manager who just made it up. I asked the manager how could the skirt steak from Australia be on sale and generally so much less in price than the USDA beef. I added, the meat has to ravel here from across the world.

He said, SR has such a fantastic relationship with it's Australian meat suppliers that they are able to offer the customer such as fantastic price. Later in the week, I asked one of the butchers and he told me that was non sense. The Australian skirt steak is of a lower quality than the USDA cuts are. He said, buy it and try it.

You will see. And I did, and it was horrible. Not only was this manager disingenuous, frankly he was stupid. Waiting on the deli line - and when you get to finally be served, they tell you they don't have the item - why don't they post a sign and updated it as deli items become unavailable?

This store is dirty. It is open 24/7, but if you shop while they are restocking the shelves, you will get attitude from the shelf stockers.

I want to complain about the Somerville ShopRite

First of all no one answered the phone at corporate headquarters. Thats my first issue so thats a big problem.

Second of all I went to go check out at self check out and now Im told I cant do that because I had too many items which I didnt have that many but apparently I had a little over 20 items I always Check out my own groceries.

I am faster than the people that work at Shoprite and I bag my own groceries. I do not think it is right for as long as I have been coming here for all of these years that I cannot check myself out, especially when there is nobody at self check out , I would appreciate if someone would give me a call back or at least answer the phone at corporate headquarters

Incompetence

Unfortunately, always a problem there. I bought a package of romaine lettuce.

When I opened the bag. The lettuce had brown spots. I cut it off, washed it and made a salad with onions, peppers,tomatoes, and cucumbers. The next day, I had to throw away salad as lettuce turned brown which ruined the whole salad.

Second problem.

I bought Mr. Clean which was supposed to have a digital coupon. I searched the site 3 times. No digital coupon.

Went to store clerk who checked also. No digital coupon Today, I bought Garnier shampoo. 2 for four dollars with digital coupon. Once again, no digital coupon.

I checked twice. I then put in Garnier. No digital coupon. Once again, I went to store clerk who looked for it.

No digital coupon. Now every time this happens. I have to wait for store employee go to aisle to locate item and price regarding advertised product. I can understand Once in a while an oversight can happen.

But every week. Sorry, unacceptable.

I spend at least 15 minutes extra each time due to their incompetence.

Do people just Not care? It's very frustrating

The customer service people at the Wall shoprite on rout 34 were impossible rude, impatient and impolite. There names are John and Tee. Instead just to return extra money, which cashier machine generated, they were telling off that I did something wrong, did not want to listen to me and say a word. John finally gave me wrong refund, never apology. People like that could not work at that so much popular store.

Digital coupons

The manager at the store at Cheltenham Ave store told me very rudely that my number is not connected to my phone number and I had to figure out why it dont work and theres nothing she can do I have never been so disrespected in my life. When I Showed her where I had downloaded them she was so nonchalant and told me let customer service figure it out. I have been a loyal customer for years and never been humiliated like that over my money

Not only do I have to ask for the deli meat employees to please change there gloves when touching door knobs to there hats to pens to then your cold cuts but I purchased bagels that had ants in them. There needs to be a refresher on hand hygiene and high touch surface areas before handling food.
