Shea Homes - Failure to follow basic builder guidelines.
I purchased a new home from Shea, paying above market rates for upgrades. After the 10 year home warranty period we discovered wood rot in the deck, which we paid extra for. Upon investigating the source it was discovered that Shea did not paint or treat any of the...

Shea Homes - Great Homes - Poor Club Management

3.4
Details
I have now lived here for 3 years. The homes are very well built and excellent value. Club facilities are very nice. Although there have been some soil problems, Shea has done a wonderful job of fixing and compensating those home owners. The main problem is with the Blue Star facilities Co. management (owned by Shea) who take our money, spend it and run things like a dictatorship, Members who try to help with their professional backgrounds and suggestions are ignored or insulted. I would give Shea a **** and the Blue Star Club Management *

Shea Homes in Murrieta, California - Nepotism

Way to go...NEPOTISM at it best especially with recent layoffs due to the economy then to go ahead hire family of management and field employees. Sure that the ones waiting at the employment line will be happy to hear but maybe the "economic layoff" was just an excuse to their recent departing as it makes sense why several other things are clearly overlooked within middle management.

Had an HVAC construction defect in 2012 that they said was my fault. The HVAC contractor made some adjustments in the condensation drip coils, but we spent $500 repairing condensation drip damage. Annual inspections reveal no issues since then that they claimed I had...

We built our home in 2013 with Shea. Our roof began to leak and three roofers have told us it is due to improper installation of the flashing. We built our home in Hollister in 2013. We had issues from the beginning with customer service but that is a whole other...

Shea Homes in Los Angeles, California - Bad practice on broker commission

2.3
Details
Brokers know they need to accompany buyers on their first visit as it’s standard practice in the industry. Shea is very clear on their broker policy and have it posted at the entrance to the sales office as well as inside the sales office. There is no way the buyers will know that they need to bring their broker on the very first visit.
