McCalls wedding dress pattern #8047
I was asked by my future daughter-in-law to make her wedding dress. She selected a beautiful design, style A, pattern #8047, an Alicyn exclusives design.
I have been sewing and making clothes for over 50 years and was excited about the dress and being able to make it for her. I took all relevant measurements to make any adjustments to the pattern, etc. Fabric that we purchased was based on recommended types. Lace appliques were purchased to decorate the bodice and sleeves as shown.
After spending hours working on the yoke and attaching the appliques on the sleeve areas I continued with the bridal loop openings on the lower sleeve etc. When construction reached the point of pre-attachment of the yoke to the bodice I was horrified to find that the sleeves were not wide enough for the bride's arms to fit into. The bride has average size arms. She is not a weight lifter or swimmer or an obese girl with huge arms.
I ended up trying to add a 4 to 5 inch piece of fabric in the upper seam area to add extra fullness to the sleeve but that threw of the area of attachment to the bodice. Nothing I tried resolved the situation. In order to salvage the project I ended up making the dress sleeveless with shoulder straps to help hold the bodice in place. Needless to say I ended up with a disappointed bride-to-be and a feeling that the pattern construction was flawed.
I measured the actual width of the pattern piece upper arm and it was only 10 inches. I sincerely feel that this is an unreal expectation.
I am still trying to figure out a way that the project could have been remedied without losing the integrity of the design of the dress but have been unable to reach any conclusions. Too late for us but maybe the pattern needs to be altered for others that run into this same problem.
User's recommendation: Do not go to the expense and time for this design of dress unless the company makes changes to the pattern.

On March 1 I ordered the Lutterloh system to enhance my sewing techniques with women and children clothing. When I received my package worth 146.00, the only thing in the package was an used ruler.
I did not receive the pattern designs, instructional DVD or all of the tool set.
I am requesting my money back. Hopefully since I ordered through Paypal this is a possibility.

Still no response and pattern not received. I would stay away from this company.
My bank refunded the full amount. Shame as only sewing pattern site
Pattern never received. Happened years ago but figured I would try again.
There is no way to reach. False number and email not returned.
Never order again. Disputed charge and buy sewing patterns another way.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS "COMPANY"!
I ordered a pattern online on March 1st and received a confirmation email. I waited about a week without any email from them about shipping.
(I live in California so it shouldn't take that long to receive the order). I emailed requesting an eta for my order. No response. I called 2 different phone #'s (both with a message that the Magic Jack customer wasn't available (!) - real professional!) No response.
I sent another email threatening to dispute the charge to my account (that they charged on March 1st - most companies don't charge your account until they ship) and file a complaint. No response. I did dispute the amount with the credit card and it was resolved immediately. Then, I got an email from them saying the pattern was backordered (?) and they would ship the next day.
I emailed them back to cancel my order and that I expected an immediate refund to my account. A few days later I received an alert from my credit card company to call them because there was a temporary hold on my account. I thought that it might be in regard to the dispute. I called them and discovered that a charge for over $400 to the Microsoft store was charged to that very same credit card.
I did not make that purchase! I can only surmise that this sham of a company used my card for that purchase. I know that this kind of stuff happens all the time but when it happens to you it is very disturbing. Unfortunately, I checked the BBB for complaints on this company after the fact and knew after reading those complaints that I had been scammed.
I will always check with the BBB when dealing with a new company. Oh, another thing: when you google their address an auto window tinting company comes up!
Yikes! I can't believe that this place is still around!
Preferred solution: Full refund
Charged my card twice, both times claiming it was denied
Placed order online for $65.36. The site showed me an order number and said I'd get a confirmation email. No email. When I went to check the order number on the site it said the order number was wiped out because my card had been denied.
I assumed I'd made a typo and repeated the process.
Same exact thing happened.
Still no email from them.
I send complaint mail via their "contact us" link that it's denying valid charges AND that I'm receiving no email (which is supposed to be send automatically, per the website). I received no response to THAT.
Checked my account 3 days later because I wanted to verify nothing had gone through. I had been charged both times ($130.72 total).
There is a phone number listed on the charge statement. Called that during what I assume are California business hours. No answer. No way to leave a message.
I called my card company and they're reversing the second charge, but I have to wait and see if I get any merchandise. before they can refund the original order.
No customer service
I placed an order for four patterns for shipment. While checking out, I was called away from the computer and the paypal session timed out.
Did the order go through or not? The paypal account had not been charged, yet the Sewing Patterns cart was empty. I simply wanted to contact Sewing Patterns.com to see if the charge would be re-sent to paypal or whatever (that happened once with another order at another company and I received a duplicate order, so I wanted to avoid this). Then I would redo the order.
No customer service phone!
The "support issue" e-mail team at Sewing Patterns took over a day to reply to this query, and then they did not answer my question.

On Sept. 9th I purchased 2 patterns from this company.
It was supposed to have been a simple pdf download. On Sept.15th I contacted the company wanting status of my download with no response. I went & purchased the sewing patterns from the store as I never received the dowloads. I filed a claim with PayPal & finally on Oct.
11th 2010 I rec. an email providing me with the password etc. I advised I had phisically purchased these patterns & wanted my money back. It doesn't take a month & 1/2 to get a download.
I've had nothing but problems with this company.
No service, no phone number is provided on their site, so I searched & found lots of people had problems with them & located a phone number. Do not purchase from this company.
