Seven Corners Does Pay What They Owe!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I required emergency treatment in Mexico when I broke my foot on 2/27/21 in February. I submitted my medical and claim documentation on 4/6/21 when I returned to the US.

Since it was a reimbursable policy I assumed it would be a fairly simple process....WRONG!

Additional information was requested from Seven Corners - some was legitimate but most had been addressed in my original narrative. The first barrier presented from Seven Corners was they could not read our passport entry stamps to Mexico because the stamper used had poor ink. I finally had to offer a written statement verifying our dates in Mexico from our traveling companions to get through that excuse. Multiple barriers to not to pay the claim have been presented by Seven Corners and multiple hours have been dedicated on my part to work through the maze.

I have a $7,000 hospital bill Seven Corners will not pay because the bill is from a third party billing company even though the original bill from the hospital was submitted to Seven Corners. Seven Corners statement is "they can not accept documentation from a third party company". I have verified the third party billing company indeed represents the hospital in Mexico and I also submitted the written agreement between the hospital and the third party billing company authorizing the billing company to represent the hospital. Interesting approach since Seven Corners is a third party claims administrator for John Hancock, right?

I retired as an executive from the insurance company and have never experienced anything like this. This has been a total nightmare and I could never recommend Seven Corners to handle international travel insurance for anyone.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been trying to get my Airline Flight REFUND since December 2019. I provided Them with All the necessary documentation, emailed Them for assistance to Refund my Flight Ticket Multiple times with No success, I tried to repost my Ongoing attempts to get my Refund, on Google Chrome now They Blocked me.

They have stated They don't have the Document. Then they stated that they had the document and would help me. Unfortunately they did not follow through with their promise, and they have not Refunded my money.

This Company is Not Honest or Reputable. They have HORRIBLE Customer Service on ALL Levels.

They Will NOT REFUND my Flight Money regardless that I Followed All their Requirements/Requests, and I am still waiting for my refund now almost four months. I have many emailed them. I called them multiple times, but they have not assisted me nor have they refunded my money.

They are NOT a reputable and honest Company. I am an extremely dissatisfied customer.

Seven Corners bait and switch

First of all, I am not disputing the verbiage in the policy itself. My complaint is regarding the purchasing process of this policy right from the start and the use of multiple brand names to create confusion. I will post this under the under brand names so everyone will be aware that it is really the same company.

Half my overseas trip was ruined by a situation out of my control and I incurred hundreds of dollars of charges as a result. The entire airport in Manila was closed for the APEC summit meetings. I was relieved to know I had purchased trip insurance from a well-known company in Chicago, John Hancock Insurance—which according to the website included cancellation and delay.

Upon requesting the appropriate claim forms, the form itself says it is actually “American Modern Insurance Group”. However, after making sure that was the correct form it appears the forms are actually mailed to “Seven Corners”. I later found out that “Sever Corners” is only the processor of claims. It appears that multiple companies are involved and that they are simply using different names to confuse and mislead consumers.

My claim for trip cancellation was denied and I was advised (after several emails) to file an appeal under a different reason, trip delay. I spent countless hours filing out all the forms again and providing proper documentation and proof of such occurrence. The second claim with "John Hancock Insurance” was also denied. There were no responses to my emails, again for weeks. I also, placed many calls and emails to the “zero complaint team" at squaremouth.com asking for further clarification regarding my specific trip insurance policy that I purchased. After about a month I finally was given an answer, simply stating, that I was not covered for that reason under that policy.

Regardless of the writing in the policy, I am asserting that I was cheated and completely mislead into purchasing this insurance policy from the start. I am asserting that I was lead to believe I was purchasing from a prestigious name; John Hancock Insurance. This was clearly a bait and switch scheme and absolutely unacceptable. In addition, I was not made aware prior to my purchase the extreme limitations of this policy and that I would be dealing with multiple companies other than “John Hancock". This would have drastically altered my decision in choosing such a prohibitive policy from unknown companies.

Seven Corners Travel Insurance Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Watch out for using any pre existing condition waiver. It is worded that if you fulfilled all the qualifications of a pre existing condition, you will be covered.

Bait and switch. NEVER use this company! They will never honor their contract.

Super unprofessional. Look elsewhere for travel insurance, they are the worst!

Terrible customer service and refusal to honor insurance contract

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My wife became sick on a trip to Africa and had to be hospitalized while connecting in Amsterdam. After submitting all information, the Seven Corners claims department did not respond about the status of our claim for over 6 months (the contract says claims will be paid within 60 days of providing proof of loss).

Each time we called, they said they'd have an answer for us in a few days or one more week, and each time no one got back to us. Finally six months later they send us a check for part of the claim but refuse to pay for the unused flights without any explanation. Terrible company--do not use it or any of its affiliates (our coverage was through Tin Leg, bought over the Squaremouth website). Note that Squaremouth maintains its own review site, but only allows reviews within 5 days of returning from the trip.

But how would I know by then whether the company would fail to respond at all to my claim? Ridiculous.

Denied my claim despite i don't have a coexisting condition

I have AXXESS/SEVEN CORNER'S medical insurance, and am a medical physician who seeked medical treatment off-island; I spoke to their representatives in Hawaii and received their support, Mr. Higgins even reviewed my claims and approved it; after filing a claim (sent it to their respective office), left them my permanent address, they never wrote to me directly explaining i have been denied because of a coexisting condition; The doctor's in Hawaii claim I have no preexisting condition.

The representative had requested for a copy of my passport that was submitted and now they say I need to review my policy??? I am very disgusted w/this AXXESS/Seven Corner's Insurance.

THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD. PLEASE BE AWARE.Here is my story.I have taken insurgence for my parents when they were visiting here in US.

Certificate # 11VLL13-6****.Effective Date :04/26/2013 Expiration Date: 06/07/2013When he came here, about a week after his arrival, he started seeing some boil in skin and I took him to urgent care.

They did dressing to the boil and prescribed antibiotic. The first letter we got from this company, is for Claims Denied, and when I re-filed it, they asked all kind of documents (while purchasing the insurgence nothing was required) and even after repeatedly sending the documents, you they kept denying that they have received any . After repeated email and phone calls and sending the document for about 6 times they accepted that they received the documents ultimately to reject it, sitting the reason for “pre-existing condition” and “symptoms began prior to effective date.”I have to ask this question, the Insurance effective date is 4/26/2013 and I took my father to Urgent care on 5/5/2013, so how the above statement could be true. The whole treatment of the case makes me believe that, they are just a scam and trying to run people out of their money.I have paid, $260 for the insurance and $50 for medicine (which we never claimed), and now we have $1017 bill from Hospital & lab which they are denying to pay.

Dear Ms. Maae,

I spoke with Mr. Higgins yesterday, and he is aware of the situation. Please note that he is an agent for Seven Corners, and does not have the authority to approve claims. Medical records submitted to us by the treating physician state that symptoms were present prior to the start date of your insurance plan. If this is incorrect, you will need to submit new supporting information. Please feel free to contact me directly.

Best regards,

Dear Suzanne:

I do have inside information about how some of Seven Corners claims personals have been conducting business in recent years. I came into conclusion that there is NO leadership in that department, each individual or small group of individuals tend to follow their own interpretations of the insurance policies in the absence of clear directive to satisfy customers, some who have had legitimate claims denied initially, but later were paid upon interventions by the BBB or other consumer agencies.

Therefore, I see potential problems that may surface in terms of the number of piling complaints that contracting insurance underwriters monitor closely that include Lloyd of London, Nationwide as well as others.
