Bad experience. Owner was rude. Office manager was condescending. Company did not return today at 8am as promised last Thurs. Did not call to cancel this return apt until 2 hrs past time agreed on. Equipment broke down mid job, first time, plus stains /spots spread. My rugs stayed wet for 4 days. Owner wants to refund $99 as complete settlement. I told him I won't accept that as I may need carpet replaced now.

As you can see by clean towel set down on part of remaining stain, the "stain" is still trying to come up but they left it filthy.

This could have been resolved if staff had better attitude. Owner said it cost him too much money to send a truck out & I could call another company. Insisted he'd given me an option for Mon,, which he didn't or I'd have grabbed it. They also broke a huge pic by propping it behind a bench on a tile floor & didn't tell me it was there.

Do not recommend unless you want this headache!

Totally unethical Servicemaster Franchisee

Due to fire related toxic smoke, all possessions were to be cleaned, boxed with exact location labeled for return. A portion of this was related to a private business in the home and a personal workshop. What we got were boxes with professional documents simply "dumped" in and all order in filing was lost. A locked file cabinet was broken into. It contained confidential documents protected by federal law. Nothing was returned to its original location and most boxes were mislabeled. Damage to property was extensive. Expensive tools and equipment were dumped into boxes like they were junk. Expensive leather office chair (over $300.00) was swapped for a $80.00 chair. It has taken months for us to work every day in an effort to correct this mess and will be 2015 before we are through..As a professional writer, it is essential that I can find the reference data that I need to do my writing. All this is just random in one box here and another box in a totally different location. Our insurance company, State Farm Insurance has done an excellent job on their part. I could not praise them more. The Servicemaster "so called contract for services" in very light pink letters attempts to absolve them of all responsibility however my information from the Attorney General's Office calls it a scam to some greater or lesser degree. Something to lead the unwary to accept paying nearly ten thousand dollars to have their property treated in a manner not supported by the parent Servicemaster Operation in any form. It is in total violation and disregard of the Corporate Code of Ethics. There was no effective supervision, guidance, or employee knowledge base exhibited at all. When I noted that there was a shop-vac that did not appear to belong to me, his comment was "well, just consider it a bonus with no indication that he had any interest in trying to find the rightful owner. Fortunately, it did belong to me, so my mind was put at ease. To attempt to place a value on our time and effort in trying to put things back in some semblance of workable order and account for the loss of income that this has caused is virtually incalculable. For those of you who are going through something like this or may have it happen to you in the future, you must be there to supervise and assure that what Servicemaster advertises is carried out to the fullest. Will I be seeking retribution for damages? I have been strongly encouraged to do so.

Refused to give quote then kicked me out when I tried to go in.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had been trying for several weeks to get a quote from Servicemaster Clean through their website for my plant's janitorial needs and never got any information back at all. I have come to crunch time and decided that in order to give them every possible opportunity I would just print off the RFP and hand deliver it to their office.

I went in the address that had been brought up on Google and met with one person who seemed nice and offered to walk me to their other office across the street but that I should take my car and meet them there. I went over there and the employee had gone in before I could walk up.

The guard at the door was adamant that they don't accept anything in person and said that if I had been seen walking in with an employee he would have body slammed me. He said I should "just keep trying the website no matter how many times it kicks you off." I have other bids and other projects and don't have time to waste getting a company to bid when they're so difficult to work with to even get a quote.

Charge for Equipment Not Used

I was charged for more equipment than actually used by ServiceMaster Clean, Frederick, MD. An air mover (fan) was moved from one location to another and than photographs taken of that re-positioned fan and I was then erroneously charged for more equipment than actually used in my home.

The company was not willing to correct that overcharge. I am left to wonder if this is a scam frequently used by these people. Beware, and don't use ServiceMaster Clean in Frederick, Maryland!!

Am attempting to lodge a complaint with organizations that oversee this company. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

ServiceMaster Executives

ServiceMaster franchise owners: Do you feel that you get the response you need to succeed? Do you feel you get the right support from your district staff about best practices from other regions about how to grow your business?

I spent 2 years working with ServiceMaster. I met many executives within ServiceMaster…I did not meet one intelligent ServiceMaster executive, ever. I did meet many people that titled themselves regional and district support staff that did not know a thing about basic marketing, how to speak with agents and adjusters, how to build a business plan, and the number one thing they did not know about was the very fundamentals of online marketing, e-commerce. ServiceMaster executives put franchiser owners at a disadvantage against ServPro.

My opinion it starts with the executive of IT online marketing services. I spoke with this person a few times, Mr graduate of of IT in the 60's is extremely outdated. His philosophies on online marketing are slow and outdated. The restrictions of independent websites and domain placed on SM franchise owners put SM at a disadvantage.

ServiceMaster business owners spend their own money and funds to develop world class cutting edge marketing tools only to be threatened by Servicemaster executives. Oh, no iphone app for you because we are developing ours for the entire company. Well, move your *** executives! Apps have been around since 2008, you seem to be behind servpro…yet again.

My story, franchise owners you spend a ton of your money to pay for worthless district support, less than par marketing, and out dated executives. I have 4 degrees in business…not a single one in IT, Marketing, but I can tell you I could run circles around the executive over IT online marketing.

SVM Franchise owners…you work hard for your money….you deserve executives that work harder to make you successful.

I think they've completely replaced all marketing executives at SVM or are in the process of. You might want to hold your venom until they get the new guys in.

My insurance company reccommend this servicemaster company as a program provider for a water damage i had. Poor communication from the office, i don;t think the lady in the office had a clue what she was doing or talking about which led to slow service and not very good overall.

I told my agent they had better never send servicemaster my way again and asked if they could do something with the billing becuase the service was not worth the billing.

I would not reccommend servicemaster in tulsa to anyone...i think we have other choices in this town....just save yourself a headache. I would have

Former employee sounds more plausible to me for a couple of reasons. The lady who answers the phone has very little to do with the drying process of a given structure, i.e.

the service that this person is complaining about. She gets a name, phone number, and address and then hands it over to the Project Manager or someone similar. When people have just experienced water damage or a fire, an hour can seem like a very long time. However the person making the complaint doesn't give any time frame and merely says the service was "slow" and not good overall, and seems to want to assign all the blame to the person who took the call.

What else was poor about the service? Did they dry it out or not?

Did they break something? Did they show up with not enough drying equipment and have to call to get more (which is quite common since customers usually over estimate or underestimate the damage).

We know for sure that this is a former employee. Proof has been established.

ServiceMastar Charge for Services Not Performed

ServiceMaster (Advanced Cleaning in Mobile, AL) sent us a statement for work not performed. When we contacted them about the mistake. They indicated that we should pay for the services even though they fully understood they did not do the work.

I can't say that all the ServiceMaster franchises follow this type of practice. However, according to an attorney that I hired, he indicated that this is a tactic that some companies use to force individuals to pay additional fees. The cost to fight the complaint is more than the invoice.

I paid the $1,600 and decided to never use ServiceMaster in the future.

Bogus Story - Service Master did provide minimal services. However they added additional services not performed thinking that our insurance company would simple pay without question.

My deductible was higher than the invoice. We involved attorneys and had the bill reduced. I was trying to make a long story shot.

The bottom line is use caution with this specific company; Service Master Advanced Cleaning located in Mobile AL. One would hope that most Service Master Franchises would be ethical.

Guest

Forgive me if this is true, but I am calling B.S. on this one.

The company admitted that they in fact did NOT do the work but told you to pay the bill anyway and YOU DID. There is definitely something wrong with this story. No company would say "yes, that is correct we didn't do the work but we expect you to pay for it anyway".

And no customer who is giving a full account of their story would ever pay that bill. You are either the worlds biggest sucker, or you are leaving a huge part of the story out.
