Really disappointed with Serra VW in Birmingham
- - Jetta was sold; a Passat was in the same price range.
- - Used cars were at the Nissan lot across the street.
- - Out-the-door price rose from $9,700 to $13,700.
We called in about an Jetta TDI posted in Facebook marketplace, the Salesmanager on duty Friday afternoon 8/16/19 told us, the Jetta was already sold, but he had a Passat In the same price range.
So we we there to look at it, walking in to the VW dealership there was no body except the friendly receptionist which called in to the Serra Nissan place across the street. 3 mi later a salesman came and told us that all used cars a at the Nissan place.
Walked over there but the advertised car was not there, no prices on other used cars on the lot.
The salesman told us that the vehicle we where looking for was in the shop, after some irritation he went to the Manager we talked to on the phone, We followed him and he promised us to have the car for review in 10 minutes.
9 minutes later they presented ist a dirty/ nasty car where I was really hesitant to sit in, but the real buss was that the out of the door price for a car advertised at $ 9700 was $ 13700.That was the point when my blood pressure went up to unhealthy conditions and we left the dealership without any words. About 45 Min.
Later we bought a Jetta TDI at Donohoo with great service and none irritations.
I can’t believe that VW let such experiences happen.
I worked in the automotive industry for the most time in my life. For me it’s just unbelievably that VW works with such distributors.
Sorry
