AI Highlights
  • - The community manager sells Amway to senior residents and has them work for free.
  • - The facility decays as rents rise and quality of life declines.

1. The community manager sells Amway products to senior residents, even the very old.

This is predatory and a breach of trust. She is employed by Independent Living, which is for-profit and not ***

2. A for-profit employee has senior residents do work for free. The law is clear; a for-profit employee cannot ask for volunteers.

They have to pay people if they do work that improves the stature of the establishment. Weekly official newsletters, seasonal and event decorations, daily coffee, events, and activities are all supported and accomplished by free labor. But it doesn't say that on the website and in the brochures.

3. Our facility was a flagship property under the previous professional manager.

The barn dweller that runs it now simply isn't up to the task, and the place is decaying rapidly. So, rent goes up and the quality of life goes down.

User's recommendation: Be sure to do your research. *** is a sinking ship.

I heard they lost the shag.org domain because it is parked and for sale at GoDaddy. But, they keep sending emails on the shag.org domain.

They have no clue what they are doing or how dangerous that is - phishing, spoofing, etc.. I can't believe the board of Transforming Age approves blatantly improper( and possibly illegal) behavior like that.

The Transforming Age board is also the Senior Housing Assistance Group board. Supposedly smart people but they aren't actually acting like it.

I had no idea. They seem to have problems if you read their reviews on the net, but this one is kinda over the top if it is true.

I've heard other things as well, but using residents for free labor while selling them MLM products is kinda disgusting.

I thought they were better than that ! Guess not.

  • - Frequent manager changes, poor issue responses, and alleged racism/harassment.
  • - Cops called, drug use in stairway, and rent hike.

Words cannot begin to express the despicable demeanor of *** 5th manager, staff & tenants who resides there, in response to Cassandra's Google review, Better Business Bureau rated double FF & Landlord tenant Union. I have never seen such a racist bitter scorn woman who gets other residents to torment and harass other tenants to which *** headquarters does nothing.

It doesn't take rocket science to get a job with this company only requires one year management experience wherever? no bachelors, Masters or an associate degree required in business management to which they abuse their Authority. Manager does not display her legal last name which makes one Wonder & caution any potential residences! We have gone through five managers and ended up with the loser?

The cops are always called, hallways smells of human *** homelessness camps in front of door entrance to which there are two transitional housing yards away. Racism runs rampant unlike their info commercial,BLM does not apply here. $80 rent increase annually.

Only the desperate & destitute lives there. Drug usage in stairway, Extreme Caution!!!

  • - Overpaid rent: $725 duplicate Sept payment at Boardwalk Senior Housing; NSF and late fees incurred; reimbursement not yet provided.

August 1, 2017 I overpaid my rent at Boardwalk Senior Housing, a *** Community. I was in the process of closing one checking account but had aleady opened a new account at a credit union and started bill pay.

I thought I set up a payment for boardwalk in october but it paid in september for $725.00. Not realizing bill pay was set up, I grabbed the wrong checkbook and wrote my rent payment for September $725.00. Once the office notified me around the 12th of the month that my check from the bank was nsf, by taping an evicion notice to my apt. door.

I was upset and withdrew the money from my new credit union account (cashiers check) not realizing my rent was already paid by bill pay $725.00. When I got my nsf check back from the manager, I realized what I did. I paid ny rent for Sept twice from my credit union checking account. (By the way, the nsf cost me $30 fee from bank, boardwalk assessed $20 for nsf, $30 late fee, $4.00 cashiers, check fee) in addition to $725.00 rent.

Boardwalk has the proof from the credit union of double payment and they keep giving the "the old runaround" excuse after excuse, why they have not reimbursed me my $725.00 and today is the end of the month since Sunday is October 1th.

This is totally unacceptable and I need help. CAN YOU HELP ME?
