    • - Paid over $70 for an exploding cake; order Jan 14, delivery Jan 18.
    • - Cake in Seattle 4 days; delay; $16 rush fee may be refunded; shelf life 5 days.
Original review updated Jan 19, 2024

I paid over 70.00 for one of the exploding little cakes. The order was placed on the 14th of January with an 18th of January delivery date.

Up until 11:23 last night I was still expecting the cake to arrive at least by midnight. When it did not arrive I checked the website again and the cake was still in Seattle Washington. So 4 days have passed, and the cake never moved, nor was the site updated prior to. Eventually, a message appeared that stated due to circumstances beyond their control I would not receive the item in time.

That would be reasonable if either l was informed prior to the due date, the site was updated properly, or I did not pay over 16.00 for rush delivery that may or may not be refunded. I called this am and was informed by the rep on the phone that unfortunately the only thing he could do was escalate my complaint to a supervisor to see if they would refund my 16.00. In the meantime, I was instructed that hopefully, somewhere between 24 and 48 hours, I may receive an update and maybe the cake will be in Tennessee by then. I must mention I am in Concord NC.

I did ask the shelf life of the cake and was given an answer of 5 days, maybe from when its delivered if it makes it by tomorrow??? I did notice a date of the 19th soon after my call. Not looking for advice.

I just wanted to help those that are considering during business with this establishment. Buyer beware and if wanting to surprise someone please have a back of plan.
