Moved - still receiving bill

Tim & Lana Black moved out of 7990 West Michigan Avenue Parma, MI 49269 and called to stop service but still receiving bills. We should not receive bills after 11/10/21. The new owners assumed service at that address on 11/10/21.

years ago I rented a house in the country. In order to keep things honest with the owner I decided to switch the semco gas account into my name. Long story short the house had a major mold problem so I moved I called to have gas turned off or switched back to owner. 8 months go by an I get a bill at my new address for 1200.00. I contact semco an they let me know that they never switched the name on the account. No one called the owner and the owner never called to tell them it was okay to switch back to his name. I fought with these people for years finally asked the state to help pay the bill. The state pays all but 81.00. Here it is now the middle of December freezing cold and they wont turn it on until they receive my home heating credit from the state that was sent to them US postal. They are going to allow a family of three to poss. freeze over 51.00 dollars. These people are the worst they make up rules as they go.

Gas Service Review

The Worst gas company EVER! You have to jump through all these hoops just to pay your *** bill with out an extra service charge. Plus they charge you for signing up seriously it's bulls*** I have spent nearly $300 in two months ALREADY it's just not right

My actual gas bill was $32.00 but with all of their "fees" its $83.00 plus if you pay anyway besides cash or check there is a $8 processing fee. I hate semco whoever runs this company is a disgusting human.

Semco turned off my gas !!

I was getting unbelievable bills for energy. I e-mailed them (because you can't CALL them) ... and the day after I complained they showed up and changed my meter. I sent them check for $100 so that they could clear up their errors, but, instead, they just turned off my (Mom's) gas!! just left a notice on the front door! I had just made a payment less than 20 days ago !!!! Thank goodness it is warm enough now that I don't need the furnace ! They won't turn it back on unless I pay then a $50.00 re-set fee!

Semco sucks! I've always paid my bills and yet at the end of every month they threaten me with shut off, it's ridiculous and it's proof that there needs to be competition for gas service.

A class-action, formal complaint needs to be filed by Semco Customers.

Shut off my gas when they said I could pay a payment plan.

A semco employee came to shut off my gas, I asked him if he could give me a few minutes to call customer service and take care of my bill. He said he would give me 2 minutes. I called customer service and they said I could pay what I have $110, and pay the remaining $100 on friday when I get paid, which was 2 days away. I told the guy at my door that I had $110 and I would pay the rest on friday. He got a phone call when I was talking to him and said "I don't have time for this ***", he went outside and shut off the gas and left, he left my doors wide open, in the middle of winter. I tried to tell him that they said I could pay the $110 and make a payment plan but he ignored me I was on the phone with the customer service while he shut the gas off and I told her that he just shut the gas off and she said it's too late then and there is nothing she can do. I called back to customer service and they said there is nothing they can do about it because the gas is already off. They said they have no control over what there field agents do.

Gas Shut Off Review

Came home on work at 8:30 pm and my gas was shut off. Paid the bill and they still shut off our service. When I called to have them rectify their mistake rude person named Kim for dispatch would do NOTHING. TO RECTIFY SEMCOS MISTAKE. Telling me that there was no one available to rectify THEIR MISTAKE NOT MINE

SEMCO ENERGY SCAMS CUSTOMERS!

I personally know of 3 incidents where SEMCO has illegally attempted to collect/and did collect on money not legally owed to them. They do this by charging high deposits whether you are a new or existing customer-and never return deposits. They also lie, and consistantly put someone's old account balance on a new account and threaten to turn off services if not paid. SEMCO CANNOT apply the balance of one customer to another customer's account and demand payment. The MPSC needs to do their job and stop this activity against customers! Semco is dishonest and game players.

SEMCO ENERGY DECEPTIVE COLLECTIONS

I know firsthand that SEMCO ENERGY is consistantly violating Michigan Standards and Practices regarding billing and collections. I know of 2 situations where Semco transferred a large amount of money on another account holder's name. Both times, the individuals believed the prior bill to be paid in full. Semco then proceeded to tell the customer that their service would be shut off if they did not pay the balance forward. Semco is aware of the Michigan Rules regarding billing, deposit fees, etc., but refuse to follow the law. They are also collecting deposits from customers when they should not be. There are also NOT refunding deposits due to the customer. This infuriates me. They are not above the law!

SEMCO Energy is a bunch of crooks

This company has the worst customer service and the shadiest of practices. I received a shut-off notice on a Friday afternoon for a scheduled shut-off the following Monday morning at 8am. After promptly running down to the nearest "Pay Station" for SEMCO Energies, I called them to report my payment (because they don't post such types of payments to your account for days--so you have to report that you made a payment to them), only to discover that it is IMPOSSIBLE to report a payment to them as they only have 'Customer Service Hours' and the ability to report such a payment during a limited time of 8am -5pm Monday through Friday. So now I'm completely screwed after making my full payment and will get shut off, no matter what I do. This company has tried to pull *** like this with me before. They schedule things to make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to pay on time, report your payments, or stop them from coming out to your house (an $11.50 charge every time, plus a possible shut-off and then 're-connect' fees). Electronic payments made through THEIR own automated system gives you a confirmation number. But such payments don't post to your account for SEMCO right away. Instead, you have to call back to their customer service and speak to a representative (during their limited times) and report back to them that you paid them on their own damned system. So, yeah, they completely screwed me by scheduling my shut off for 8am Monday, which is also the very soonest that it is possible to report a payment made days ago. WTF.

How bout this, pay when you get the bill. Seems simple enough.

This is what I do and I've never had anyone show up to my door to collect. You sound like a dead beat.
