I ordered blackout blinds (order #192****) from Select Blinds Canada for my daughters rooms to reduce light and heat. Upon installation, a strong, pungent chemical smell filled their rooms, forcing me to remove the blinds and delay bedtime to air out the space.

I aired the blinds outside for three days, hoping the smell would dissipate, but upon reinstalling them, the odor persisted. That night, one of my daughters vomited, likely due to the chemical exposure, so I permanently removed the blinds and stored them in my shed. As a parent, Im horrified that a product meant for kids rooms could be so hazardous. I contacted customer service (Ann Valiquet) on May 6, 2025, but their response was a month-long ordeal of delays, miscommunications (e.g., wrong colors, a $159.30 charge for replacements), and a refusal to refund unless I donated the toxic blinds to charityan irresponsible suggestion.

Their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee is meaningless when they dismiss health concerns and impose unfair conditions.

Select Blinds Canadas product and service are unacceptable, especially for families. I urge others to avoid their blinds and shop elsewhere for safe, reliable options.

Terrible customer service

I ordered two remote controlled electric blinds. I was told that they would be pre-programmed and set up to link with my Wi-Fi system and my iPhone.

When they arrived they would not work properly I contacted the company and they told me I needed a remote control to reprogram them myself. They agreed to send a remote free of charge by courier. Two weeks past and no remote control. Contacted them again got a tracking number for the remote.

It is being held in customs awaiting payment for a duty. Even if I paid to do it itll be another seven days before they arrive . Contacted Customer Service and told him I was fed up with the blinds and just want to return them. I was told there is no return policy and I would just have to wait for the remote to arrive.

Do not buy blinds from this company. And all of their equipment is built in the United States not Canada
