They told us they were going to hot seal my driveway which they didn't do, they told us that the seal would last 3 years. Well the seal started to come up whole blowing the leaves around and off the driveway. I am really upset, I knew that this seal won't last long.

The owner eventually called and apologized. Said they were out of town.

They also offered a discount.

But since they were the most expensive and didn’t make an effort to call until three after the original schedule date. We informed them we found someone else (Jet Black).

Original review updated Jul 22, 2022

Though not the competitive we always try to support our local businesses. We scheduled a date and they were a no call call no show.

Wouldnt even return call. What kind of crap is this!

Stay away from the Lakeville, MN location. Dont let them waste your time.

Horrible service and quality

They create damage, rather than fix damage. Wasted my money and time.

Too many problems and they have a myriad of delay tactics and excuses. BEWARE. You'll find they hide their corporate address! Fast initial service, improper crack filler preparation, improper follow up and follow through, no investigation of failure cause, they blame defective application on weather conditions, pre-existing conditions, etc.

Not BBB member. They'll tell you that the weather is too hot (80's) and they'll come back when the weather is cooler to fix it.

If that were the case all of the asphalt roads would be irreparable, because you can't fill cracks in summer weather. Your king until they're paid and then you are a pain in the a___!

Yeah it's real hard to be apart of the BBB when all you do is have to pay money to them and now you become a member. And stop parking on your cracks and they won't pull up.

Or don't complain. Hide there corporate office look it up it's all over the internet.

What a idiot you are as a customer. I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with u.

After digging around on the internet I am not able to find the address of the Blaine MN location. It states Central Ave Blaine MN 55434.

There is no address for the business and looking at the pic shown for the Blaine store there is no building that looks anything like it anywhere on Central in Blaine MN. BS to the address is everywhere - it is hidden!

Why would you hide your address unless you are worried about retaliation from unethical business practices. Good that I looked into this before reaching out to your company.

Seal King - Coating Service Review from Ellsworth, Wisconsin

Seal King - Coating Service Review from Ellsworth, Wisconsin

Called Heather at Seal King to schedule resealing of my driveway after having it done last year in September. Told them to put asphalt down in a place I thought they should have done last year and didn't.

Told them I absolutely DID NOT want crack filler put in that space as the crack filler they had put in the other cracks last year had all fallen back down into the cracks. It was a wide enough area for asphalt to be put down but when I came home from work, crack filler had been put down. Many larger type cracks weren't even filled in. I had also checked into their policy of redoing the driveway if it gets rained on the same day of the resealing.

Their policy is to reseal the driveway if it rains on it within a certain time after the sealing. Later that afternoon of the resealing we had a torrential rain for over an hour and it had pummeled my driveway unbelievably. I called Heather in the morning and she said they would come back out and reseal it. They came out the next day and only did a 2 foot x 1 foot area over an oil stain that had bled thru after the pummeling rain.

Thats ALL they did. I contacted them about their failure to reseal the driveway and the "patch job" they did on the oil spot. Told them how disappointed I was in their job performance. They never called me.

They do not do what they say.

My driveway looks like *** and they don't stand by their work or their policies. I will NEVER hire them again to do my driveway!!!

If you want a reliable and affordable asphalt maintenance company call Superior Sealers LLC out of Bloomer. Very high quality job with very professional crew. They have a 1 yr warranty and they won't put sealer down when the nighttime lows are too cold which causes sealer to not cure properly and flake off.

Your sealer looks great. It's your driveway underneath the sealer that looks terrible.

Can't you see that in your picture you posted. Sealer doesn't cause craters in your driveway it beacause you didn't seal your driveway probably ever.

Example paint your wall if there is a blemish in your wall before you painted it.

It is not the paints fault. You need education obviously

Guest

They damaged my driveway. Failed to respond to call.

I advise caution.

Find a local, reputable seal coat contractor, not from Wisconsin. $300-$500 with them will cost me thousands to fix.

Lol call a company not in Wisconsin. I hope you do know there is a Sealking in Minnesota to.

They are the most reputable company I know. Look them up before you say not reputable. Lol 43 franchise across the Midwest. Also they always answer the phones always.

Look like they answered for you since you say in your report the receptionist name Heather. Use your brain!

Never had a problem with them myselves. I seal coat every two years which is recommended.

Looks like by your picture you don't take care of your asphalt. That's not Sealking's fault it's your for not doing preventive matience. Such a sealing it every two years like your suppose to. I don't how you think a coat over something causes the problem below it.

Cause it don't and the problem below it was already there. Sealer doesn't cause gauges and craters in your asphalt it was already there.

That obvious cause the sealer is sitting on top of the asphalt. #stupidpeople

It is NOT recommended to seal a driveway every 2 years. If using high quality sealer and professionals then it should last a minimum of 3 years.

It is recommended being on an asphalt maintenance plan to have your driveway done every 3-5 years. Over sealing causes flaking and if Seal King was an honest company they would tell people that.

Mine turned out worse than before they sealcoated it. Destroyed my driveway.

Seal King Paving Service Review from Arnold, Missouri

Seal king "sealed" our driveway in September of 2015. Winter came and the driveway started turning gray.

We only use shovels and snowblowers, no salt. Called and spoke with Heather, she said "if ya had called earlier we coulda worked with you". I called less than a year after application. $450 wasted.

Seal king is not a company I would recommend to anyone. Was also told that the freeze/thaw caused this to happen. Really! We live in Minnesota, freeze/thaw happens every year.

Also told that as of now (10 months later) the sealer is doing its job.

Then why does it look terrible? Seal king, I think you should attempt to make this right, but after reading other reviews I know you won't.

Seal came off right away!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had Seal King of Somerset WI, come out to seal my driveway about Sept 2014. Within two weeks it had flaked off in half of the driveway. The cracks they had filled were terrible also. They barely put any in so the filling just fell to the bottom of the crack, and the crack was still there. It had not rained either.

When I called 2 weeks later,- They did come out and redo it but the lady on the phone- made sure to say that they would not be back out in the spring if it were bad again. WHY? would she say that to me? She must have known that it would peel off by spring.

Spring came and over half the driveway is missing the seal. We did NOT use any salt on our driveway. Even in the places that we did not plow, it came off also. SO you cant say it was the plow scraping.

Talking to others and doing research, I found complaints from years past. Saying that Seal King was known for watering down their product. With multiple persons having the same issues, it seems that this could be the most logical explanation.

I have used other companies in my life, with the seal lasting a few years. NOT two weeks. I have never seen such bad product as SEAL KING in Somerset WI.

Don't you realize that everyone's sealer came off that year not just Sealking. Because the state made everyone use this *** sealer because of the environment.

This have changed for all sealing companies since then.

Blame the state for it they are the ones who made and required to use that *** sealer because no company had a choice that year no company.

That went on for a few years for those company's they almost lot there businesses and people there jobs. All due to the state regulations to sealer for a few years.

Driveway Seal Coating Company Seal King's Defective Product

I had Seal King seal coat my driveway in Sept of 2013. Before spring arrived about 50% of the seal coat flaked off my driveway.

I had piles of the seal coat material all over my driveway. I tracked this black stuff into my garage and house. It cost me $1000 to have my driveway seal coated. I feel it was a defective product.

I contacted the company in Somerset WI that did the job and they would not refund my money. They would redo my driveway for $350. I said I would not agree to that and I would take them to small claims court. Then they agreed to do my driveway again for $250.

I agreed and they did the job again in Sep 2014. It is now Oct 2014 and the seal coating again is now pealing off my driveway again. Before winter it will be the same mess I dealt with last year. Tracking the black seal coat material in my garage and house.

This company is a rip off. They have refused to come and look at it or call me back.

I want all of my money back. I will do what ever it takes to stop this company and their defective product.

Problem may live in what was sprayed before you had them sealcoat your driveway. There are two different emulsion coatings Coal Tar and Asphalt.

if your driveway had coal tar sealer on it and they sprayed asphalt emulsion I have seen it peel off time and time again. this said Minnesota banned coal tar and after looking at maps there are areas where its not allowed in your state .

Do some research but my best guess is you had coal tar sealer and they sprayed asphalt over it. I have a Sealcoating company in Florida and always check before I spray , hard part is not many people tell the customer what they use so the next guy is often in a pickle.Hope this helps Paul P.A Renner Asphalt Services Lakeland Fl
