Frustratingly incompetent

AI Highlights
  • - ER Orthopedic Surgeon recommended a soft cast instead of surgery.
  • - Surgeon follow-up did not occur for nearly 30 days; we were directed to a PA.

We are dealing with nothing short of bureaucratic ineptness. My 93 yr old mother broke her leg.

At the advice of the ER Orthopedic Surgeon, we went the route of a soft cast/splint instead of high risk surgery. However, operating was kept open as an option if the splinting did not show promise. He explicitly stated that he wanted to see her in 10 days. It has been nearly 30 days and we still are unable to see him.

Scripps continues to push us from one department to another stating that we can't see him because he's not in the program, or because he/we chose to try a non-surgical approach, we can't see a surgeon and other ridiculous reasons? When they finally did agree to an appointment for follow up, we were sent to a PA that specializes in hands.

Put the patient first Scripps!!!! Get this woman the treatment she deserves and needs!!!
