I recently purchased a brand new Dodge Ram 1500 Rebel. The mrsp was approx 58 grand.

When i picked up the truck there were dents and scratches on the passenger and drivers doors.

A few days later i noticed that under the clear coat there are round whitish blotches.

And the seems or edges of the door look like they have bondo on them.

I decided to go on Facebook to a Ram Rebel group and post an image.

As soon as i posted my image other owners started to post pictures of their exact same defects in their paint approx 12 other people at the time I’m writing this.

All the same color and same truck.

When i contacted the dealer they offered to basically start taking the truck apart and repaint it. To me i purchased a new truck with a factory paint job not a touched up vehicle from a body shop.

I also wanted to add the scratch i attempted to have repaired was not fixed and was just hit with touch up paint instead of buffing the clear coat out.

On top of that the majority of truck owners that attempted to repaint their defects had terrible results that are much worse then the initial problem.

In the end i feel that i bought a new vehicle not a used vehicle and should not have to pull the truck apart and repaint it and lose value in my investment since car fax will now show a record that the truck was repainted. I should not have to eat that lose in the trucks value.

You would have thought Chrysler would have Learned with their issues in the past with paint defects.

This is my first and last time buying anything from Scranton Dodge and or Chrysler itself.

I attached a few pictures but these spots are along the entire drivers side and there are dents on the other side. I am limiting this post to just the factory defects.

The dents are Scranton Dodges responsibility.

I wanted to add the salesmen was a very nice guy and i felt he was genuine and was trying to be helpful. It’s the higher ups that are failing to do the right thing and give me what i paid for to begin with which is a new truck with no defects.
