Resolved: NAHC gone away.

Yep, add me to a large number of peed-off people. I, too, paid for a lifetime membership in NAHC way back in the 80's.

Then, a few years ago I got this humongous "coffee table"magazine(?) from Scout. I think I tossed it a long time ago 'cause it was so blasted huge. I just recently got an email from "North American Deer Hunter" (?) that said to access the magazine online. Well, that doesn't work.

I use the same email address that they used to send me the notice. I get an error message that I have to "Register" first.

Well, when I try to "Register" I get an error message that I have made too many attempts to register and to try again "in five minutes"! That is just a continuous loop.

Scout - Membership Review

Both me and my attorneys all feel like you've blown me off, you had originally sent the reply back in June 29 stating you were issuing me a refund check to hopefully get me to stop contacting you and blow it off, and that you have/had no intention of ever issuing me a refund check for my membership price for life membership in the Handyman Club of America. We have given every opportunity for you to issue and send out the check, that your representative named Jonathan Jacobino stated would take 8-10 weeks. It is now 20 weeks, and going into 6 months later.

Are you trying to blow this off in hopes of it going away? Are you ready to battle this out in court in front of a judge at your expense?

I'm still awaiting an actual reply from an actual person. Not some automated reply basically saying "Our automated reply system has receive your email, but we don't care enough to actually look at it or respond"!

As of today 4/19/16 they are still not responding to my requests to honor the lifetime membership I paid for. They have not answered the BBB either.

How can they get away with this? So many people have been cheated by them!

Original review Mar 20, 2016

I paid around $300 for a lifetime membership. I've written ,emailed about not getting my magazines since summer 2014.

I had one email response rom them promising they would get back to me after they looked into my complaint. I asked them to resume sending me my magazines or refund my money. I got no furthur response. I filed a complaint with the BBB.

They refused to answer their emails and certified mail.

They just stole my money! I am considering going to small claims court to get them to honor my membership.

Scout clubs suck

They said that I would receive so many magazines a year when I originally signed up for lifetime membership. But now they have broken the contract and send out exactly zero magazines a year.

Never gave me an opportunity to cancel and say it cost too much for membership gifts, they couldn't give a refund. These clubs are just rip-offs.

Original review Apr 01, 2016

Been a lifetime member of NAFC, NAGC, and History(now Warrior) for many years. Now I get no magazines and if I didn't have internet it would be an extra cost to participate in the clubs.

Plus they let you think that the Premier forums which you can go to only if you are a lifetime member.

I've been banned from the Gardening club forums and the jerks won't tell me why. I asked for a refund of my membership fees and they give me a lame excuse that the membership gifts cost too much, which is a joke as all I got was some cheap Chinese made garbage.

since before the company NAHC turned into Scout i had not recieved a mag or any notifications of any kind for a couple years. even after contacting both nahc an scout i still haven't recieved any type of communication.

so much for a life time membership. it was just used to line the pockets of share holders. an as for getting on thier site an product review list for some reason i can't access. never got a product to review.

oh well. seldom have i joined clubs because i've always been leery of this happening.

lesson learned, i'll keep my $$ an spend it on publications that can be trusted an are available on the shelf locally. ty snobrdfunk

I am angry!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am a lifetime member of the cooking club--I have no received a magazine or anything from them for way over a year. I cannot find anyone to complain to.

What a shame--they took my money, and what do I get for it?? NOTHING! I tried to find their website, and all I am taken to is Scout. Who is Scout?

If I complain to Scout are they going to refund my money? They should be reported to the BBB--but, can the do anything? I guess the business just closed and didn't even notify it's members. What a rip-off.

I also am lifetime member of the national gardening club--nothing from them in over a year either. Guess they are affiliated.

I have the same problem with them. I had already paid for lifetime membership years ago and they came along a year or two ago to upgrade my membership for $100 to get more benefits!

Nothing from them in over a year and no way to contact them!

TOTAL RIPOFF!!!!

North American Hunter club is a freakin joke...

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Like many others I purchased a life Membership from this company. About a year ago I stopped getting the magazine.

There was no communication to me about this. I looked on line and found the 1-88*-501-**** (this is actually the number for Scout which apparently bought out "nahc"). I called the number and they said there is nothing they can do and that now all the content is on line and that is supposed to be our magazine. I was not promised in writing a damn website to visit.

I was promised a damn magazine. What about the people that do not have internet? what about our field testing? Even though it will probably not go anywhere call the number and give them ***.

Tell Brandon and Sean that I said HI. They also have a face book page North American Hunter.

Post your dislike for the company on their Facebook,Twitter and Instagram pages. But we can let there Peers know what type of company they really are.
