Stay away!

Terrible, by far the worst experience I have ever had buying a new car! They transferred my plates from the car I was driving that I didn't trade in. Only reason they had the info was for the owner loyalty rebate. Then they were in no rush to fix the problem. Took them 3 days to re register my other car. Plus I got screwed on the price in which I was lied to so they could complete the sale. Normally I do my research and shop around but was unable to due to my current work schedule. I have bought plenty of new cars in the past and have never had issues like this. Stay away.

Forging Mileage

Consumer Beaware:::.........If you have a used VW and need reapirs or bodywork...........do yourself a favor and find yourself another repair facility. Be prepared to pay for what they deem Maufacturer s VW parts, but they are actually aftermarket. Be prepared for Scott VW not to stand behind their work (warranty). Pay close attention to your service repair record...........noting and making sure the mileage is correct. Many people make that mistake...........without catching it..........you are left high and dry because either the body shop or service department low balled your mileage..........you are out of your warranty limitation. Don t trust or expect much from the owner Brad S. He comes across as the IVY Leaguer in his dockers and button down shirts.............now who he really is ladies and gentleman. In closing.............do not allow the body shop to perform any mechancial repairs...........unless they state in WRITING that they will stand behind those repairs at 1000%. A body shop that does not have a lift...how can you thoroughly inspect and QC a vehicle????

Highly recommend Scott Collision Repair. Manager Ray is hands down the best.

Scotts VW did outstanding body work on our 2013 Jetta Sportswagon.

When we picked it up they had detailed it inside and out. They exceeded our expectations by far.

Total misrepresentation of Scott VW Collision of prior comment.

Forging Mileage

If you are ready to be taken, lied to, insulted..........than Scott Volkswagen in East Providence,RI is your dealership. This group is very dishonest and unethical. They will forge faulty mileage readings on your service paper work if you are not alert, if you catch it..........they will just politely apologize and just say it s an oversight. Why is this important you ask.............warranty. Scott VW certainly does not know what warranty means. If you re in an accident.......your vehicle is used.........be prepared to pay for what they deem to be manufacture s parts...........but you are actually getting after market. If any mechanical repairs need to get done..........don t allow the body shop to perform mechanical work,............they don t even have a lift there. So how can one thoroughly check out a vehicle and see what minor/major problems might exist????

Scott VW

I took my VW GTI to the Scott VW Body Shop(newport ave in east providence) on October 2011......The fact that I had been charged for VW parts and they installed after market is only the beginning. I was actually embarrassed when co workers had noticed that the new hood installed actually looked as if it had been used..........u could see the waves in the front of the hood from the way the sun was hitting it. They finally put a factory hood in January after I had rifled them about it. Shortly after getting the car back again..........The coolant light comes on..........coolant had apparently leaked out..........the radiator had been replaced ecause the car had been in a collision and the old radiator had been pushed back and torn open. My concern from all of this, having a body shop doing replacing something mechanical and not have the car brought to the service department. After talking to a few mechanics........they were skeptical that the car had been thoroughly checked out when the car was taken in, while it was there, and before it left the shop. Scott VW finally put the car on a lift and found coolant leaking from three different places. Unless Mr. Scott can actually guarantee me that it had in fact been checked out thoroughly, the odds of the car losing coolant shortly after it left the body shop both in October and January, and not one of those leaks (3) being attributed to the original accident is far fetched and wishful thinking on Mr. Scott s part. When you own both entities, and you are not doing the right thing...........than shame on you. Mr. Scott apparently wanted to make money both from the body work than for service work down the line. It is also troubling that falsifying mileage readings on the body shop paper work is also troubling to me. 1) 150,772 was recorded when the car originally came in early October. 2) 150,800 the reading given when the car was brought in January to change out the aftermarket hood. 3) 154,662 when the car was brought in for an oil change, two weeks after the hood was changed out. I asked Mr. Scott repeatedly to explain this *** and no response. Buyer beware, Mr. Scott has the body shop manager in place for one reason and one reason only, to make him money at whatever cost to the consumer. Shame on you and the family pride of over 50 years right out the door.

Again it is ironic that if Mr. Scott has nothing to hide than why has he refused to sit down with me so that I can provide him with the documents that back up my claim of dishonest service (falsifying mileage) poor service and unethical service

We have done nothing but try to help this customer, and regret that he feels the way he does. So far he has accused of installing a damaged hood, which we replaced for free in good faith 3 months after the collision work was performed due to the latch being broken after being slammed repeatedly by someone.

He claimed the radiator was leaking, which we offered to replace for free if anything was found to be wrong, but nothing was. Recently, he claimed the thermostat was not working, so we inspected it for free, but found nothing wrong. He claimed the grill was broken when it was installed, so we offered a $100 good faith credit towards its replacement after finding that it had been broken off at the screws from being shaken by someone almost a year later. He claimed the coolant system was leaking, so we inspected for free and found corroded piping that could only be caused by age, not by an accident or carelessness.

We have done all of this, and it is almost 1 full year after we performed the collision work in question. We feel we have gone above and beyond to help this customer, yet he continues to demand more and more from us, regardless of what we offer.

#547773

I heard that the body shop does not have a lift........which is the reason 3 leaks were missed.

Scott volkswagen can eat it...

completely unprofessional. mamuud the finance man had no idea what he was doing. the manager josh was completely unprofessional and treated my wife like she had no idea what she was doing. overall terrible experience. our salesperson pat, was sweaty, nervous, and had no idea what he was doing. he had no knowledge of the vehicle we were purchasing what so ever. after haggling for 2 hours we left, were called back 10 minutes later because "it was the end of the month and they wanted to make a deal", said they would give us what we wanted for trade AND give us the deal on the car... instead they didnt give us the deal and we were informed when we got in the finance office. the deal fell through because we didnt purchase extended warantees.. COMPLETE SCAM NEVER GO HERE ever. Balise gave better deal and had better sales people. Honestly

It is amazing that Mr. Scott in all other complaints lodged against his dealership, on other sites........those are the SAME words that he always seems to use.......is that by design Mr. Scott??

#547528

Neither our records nor employees recall any situation........famous last words Mr. Scott.

Scott Volkswagen does not conduct business in the manner described above. We have been the longest standing VW dealer in New England for over 50 years by treating everyone fairly and respectfully.

Currently Scott VW is ranked #1 in overall customer satisfaction in the entire Northeast.

That said, we are not perfect, and I, as the owner of this business, would like to personally try to resolve any dissatisfaction you feel towards Scott VW. Neither our records nor employees recall any situation similar to that listed above; but please accept our apologies and contact me directly if there is anything I can do to rectify the situation.

Thank you. brad.scott@***.com
