Broken wheel stud
- - 2016 Kia Rio 5, 12k miles, lug nut cross-threaded from factory.
- - Dealer wants $500 to fix a $3 stud.
- - Opened a case; not liable for stud or hub bearing.
2016 kia rio 5 12000k miles. took wheels off for the first time and one lug nut was obviously cross threaded from the factory.
only way to remove it was to snap it. dealer wants 500 bucks to fix a 3 dollar stud. shady. opening a case.
i should not be responsible for the stud and all the other parts that need to be replaced like the hub and bearing. own up. mistakes happen. kia should design there cars better so a 3 dollar part doesnt need 3 hours worth of labor to change it.
it makes me wonder now anytime i get new tires or brakes if the wheel studs are going to be snaping and having to go thru this ordeal.. why would i ever pay 500 for a 3 dollar bolt when the car is only worth 8 grand
