They're liars and cheats. Go elsewhere!

If you value your belongings and/or your emotional and mental health, do NOT use Scanio! They STEAL, LIE, cut corners, and have no sense of fairness. Don’t fall for Nir Shuminer’s smoothness. He puts on the charm and persuades you that his company has a sterling record and that all will go well. While moving out of my apartment, one of their employees stole my mother’s gold necklace that I wore every day after she died. They swore that the employee had been with the company “for a long time”; in fact, he had been with them for a number of weeks. (P.S. They never found the employee or my necklace.) During my move back in to my apartment six months later, they delivered back to me a silk Persian rug (that had not seen the light of day since the 1970’s) with irreparable water damage. Naturally, they denied responsibility. They are exceedingly rude, they use intimidation, they bully you into tipping generously (which is totally undeserved), and sneer at you if you don’t give them what they want. They treated me terribly, and never reimbursed me for the loss of either my necklace or my Persian rug. You will regret it if you use them for storage or for moving. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

Scanio Movers...don't use them

Scanio Movers was recommended to me by the Apartments where my son would be moving to in NY City from Miami. This apartment was very seletive and assigned a specific date and time for us to use their elevator. Since the apartment was so particular we decided to use their recommended movers "Scanio" to make sure everthing would be ok. The move was planned for the end of June I contacted Scanio in April. They were very friendly on the phone and quoted us the price. We called Scanio almost on a daily basis to determine when they were going to pcik up the furniture and boxes. The closer we got to the moving date the less the returned our calls. Finally about 5 days before the scheduled moving date they called back and said the moving truck would come by within the next 2 or 3 days. When we told them that the furniture had to be in NY within 5 days they told us that there was no way they could deliver by then. On that 11th hour we had to call another company and pay a hefty premium to deliver the furniture to NY. I will never use Scanio again and would not recommend them to anyone.
