My family member along with four other franchisees have now separated from Salty Paws and become independent.

Original review updated Mar 06, 2023
A family member bought into the Salty Paws franchise, and since day one it was nothing but aggravation and heartbreak. I usually do not write reviews, but if I can stop someone from making the same error my family member did, then I did what i needed to do.

Suzanne , the franchisor of Salty Paws is not to be trusted. As promised on the website and in the Franchise agreement, she was to supply the franchisee with a ten day training program, an opening manual, a operations manual, working website, a marketing plan, a vendor list, newsletters and ongoing support. My family member NEVER received any of what was promised.

Suzanne had 8 stores at the time and our of the 8 stores, 5 of them hired a lawyer and separated from the franchise, that alone should say something. I beg you, before you sign anything, do your homework and DO NOT get involved with this franchise.
Loss:
$60000
Pros:
  • Its a good concept
Cons:
  • Franchise is run horrible

Preferred solution: I just want to warn people about the franchise and what a terrible experience it was.

User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY INTO FRANCHISE

Similar experience with more stores leaving the franchise due to unfulfilled promises, deception, and lack of trustworthy and toxic franchise owner. Tens of thousands of dollars in losses, and lots of frustration and anxiety. Banned from doing business in California!
