Problems at end of lease

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Im a struggling hair stylist who helps with hair loss solutions. I tried Salon Republic for one year and unfortunately had to give up the shop. I gave notice but they claimed I sent it to the wrong email address. They didnt tell me that until I handed in the keys. Now they are going to charge me for 2 more months and wont return my deposit even though I left the place spotless. They also overcharged me each week. Customer service is poor. I recommend you try someplace else.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I was a tenant with them for almost 6 years. Never late on my rent. The economy was tanking and they kept increasing my rent every year. Finally, it got to 820/week for 200sq ft! I had to move out. Another reason I had to move out was because the building amenities like the elevator (which is essential to my disabled clients) have been down for over a year. Which greatly affected my business. They are continuing to charge me weekly rent AND $10 daily late fees for a space Im no longer in or using. There wasnt even the any conversation about ways they can help, payment plans, etc. They are greedy and you will regret the experience you have there

The truth of Salon Republic Scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I rented a studio here last year, and it was horrible, would never advise anyone to do the same. Salon republic is a company that rents out small studios for small business owners. When I took the tour to see their studio, they non-stop continuing to contact me to see if or when I would get the studio and pay their deposit. I was honest with them and told them I was not sure of their location was a good fit for me, and my business. I should have listened to my gut. First, salon republic told me that for any handyman work like hanging pictures or mirrors on the walls, it was best to use their contractor to do the work and the manager Eric told me that if I did use them that they would not charge me more money to cover up holes or anything besides painting after my contract was done. Since this was my first time renting at salon republic, I took the manager, eric , word and called his contractor to hang a mirror on the wall and some small pictures of my work on a wall. Salon republic also promised and said that they would do a video and show case my studio for the first month I was there to help customs see that I was in the building and open for business. This was all a lie from Eric who is the manager of salon republic at this location, in Sunnyvale,CA. When my contract was done, I decided not to renew and I gave salon republic early notice that I was not going to renew, I asked if their was anything that I needed to do, and they said no that just to leave the studio clean, which I did. On the last week before my move out, the supervisor did a walkthrough of my studio and said everything was good, and confirmed that the room was clean and maybe they would just repaint the walls but nothing more. I signed the form of the walkthrough and I left. On the weekend of the last day of my contract I get an email saying that I would have to pay 1000.00 for repairs in the studio, which was never told to me before and was not what the supervisor told me when he did the walkthrough. Since the salon republic had my account number on file still, they took the money out and pretty much just robbed me. I tried calling the manager but since he did this on the weekend I guess he doesnt work weekends, he never answered. The following week I emailed and called and finally he answered and just told me that I had to pay and there was nothing he could do and lied about the walkthrough and said there was no form of the walkthrough that I signed, Eric lied and this is when I realized this was a scam and I hope no one else gets scam from them again.

Appalling treatment by salon management

They've completely ignored me and they continue to harass customers and push their liberal agenda on conservatives. They don't care about religious freedom, medical conditions, personal liberty or The Constitution. What a disgrace.

Original review Mar 16, 2021
This review is for Salon Republic and their management not any colorist or stylist. Welcome to the Nazi regime, that's what their signage should say as you approach the doors. Today while validating my parking ticket I was stopped by the Salon Republic gestapo because I do not participate in the face diaper sheeple community. The front desk staff was completely rude & inappropriate, trying to force me to wear a mask and became visibly irate when I told them I'm exempt (which is a fact, we're all exempt actually). If their inappropriate harassing of me wasn't disgusting enough, they spent their time figuring out which stylist I saw that day and then proceeded to barge into their individual salon while they were with another client (entered without knocking), yell at them and harass them. This is disgusting, inexcusable, childish, invasive, offensive and just plain gross. I am not a California resident, I am simply a visitor however California is still part of the United States of America. The United States of America is a FREE nation under GOD and freedom is my inherent God given right. I have a God given right to breathe clean air properly as God intended which does not include face diapers. In addition, forcing mask wearing is a violation of my federal rights. Masks violate my religious freedom in addition to being medically harmful to me and additionally making me medically exempt and just to make this more fun, I am protected by HIPPA from having to disclose any medical information about myself other than "I'm exempt". Did you know that 30% of avid mask wearers will develop throat cancer? All normal cells have an absolute requirement for oxygen, but cancer cells can live without oxygen - a rule without exception. "Deprive a cell 35% of its oxygen for 48 hours and it may become cancerous." Dr. Warburg has made it clear that the root cause of cancer is oxygen deficiency, which creates an acidic state in the human body. Dr Warburg also discovered that cancer cells are anaerobic (do not breathe oxygen) and cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen, as found in an alkaline state." (Nobel Prize Winner Dr. Warburg) So with all of this said, let this be a teaching and life saving moment for patrons as well as staff. Save your life, safe the life of your friends and family. Breathe clean air/OXYGEN. Also, know your place in the world- enforcing fake rules for a fake pandemic is not only evil it's not your place, it's also damaging to society, business and your work friends and family. Your place in the world is to greet me, say hello and thank me for visiting...that's pretty much as involved as it gets for you. You're welcome for my explaining and teaching, I'm sorry you weren't informed sooner. So moving forward, if I ever return (unlikely) I will not wear a mask, I do not need to wear a mask, nobody does. Now go forth with love and greet everyone with a smile, kindness and love knowing that The Best Is Yet To Come for those who are awake.

Unskilled hairdresser that botched a bob

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The hair dresser I went to in this place totally botched a bob. I thought this is the first thing they teach in beauty school. She didn't listen to what I asked for and cut my hair in a slant. When I went back to have her fix it she messed up the back leaving it longer. The dresser also was extremely abrasive and unprofessional. Will never be going back obviously. I mean I still can't believe they can't cut a bob in this place. How bad can you be at your job and definitely should not be cutting hair. Stay far away from this place.
