Sales Genie sells fake phone numbers!

I have had my same phone number for 11 years, suddenly, I start getting calls for "Duane - Brighter View Windows" When I explain there is no Duane here, they HANG UP and CALL BACK. I tried for two months to ask rude telemarketers where they got my number, and I was finally told Sales Genie is selling my phone number.

When I called Sales Genie, they told me they had never heard of a national Do Not Call list but they would remove my number. They also claimed they got my number from Experian and gave me an Experian phone number. I called experian and they said the only info they give is credit reports.

Sales Genie is selling fake info and lying about where they got it.

Harassment and distributing my phone number

I was self employed for a short time with a business unfortunately that did not survive the economy and also with employees that did not care about liability. At some point an employee had taken a call at my place of business and getting involved with salesgenie.com. Not sure what was said during the conversation but I do know that I DID NOT RESPOND nor contact them for any add. questions about their marketing program. During this time I have been recieving phone calls from business trying to sell me items that I DO NOT NEED. When inquiring about how they recieved this number, they told me SALESGENIE.COM. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM!!!

First off, as a former employee of Salesgenie.com's, I have no love for them. But, they DO NOT distribute your number if they were prospecting you, that is not how they acquire their data.

They are a division of InfoUSA. If you have not heard of Info, they are the largest compiler of business and consumer data in the U.S. Their data is sourced from 100% public record. Now, if your are getting B2B calls because someone got your info from Salesgenie and you are out of business, then they and yourself are the victims of inaccurate data, not a fishing scam.

You can call InfoUSA and have them remove your business from their database.

It will take about a month to updated and probably a few months before the calls completely stop.

Hope that helps.

But they have people to help if you have the time or can get them to call back. I guess I am just disappointed that I waisted 2000.00 before I awoke you snooze you lose . I also network with other dealers i hope they ask me for my opinion.I know everyone has tried different ways to drum up business and have had different results this is just what happened to me.Think it over before you make a mistake

Salesgenie.com

I have two major complaints with salesgenie.com. The first is that they will only let you take a 1 year or more contract.

You cannot go month to month. (When I signed up the salesman told me I could cancel at any time. But when I was finalizing the order, the woman I spoke to denounced that claim. *** me agreed to go ahead anyway).

The second issue is now that my business is struggling to get by, I asked if I could suspend my account or cancel it (I'm in month 4 of the 12 month contract). They said all they could do is move the billing date to the end of the month. No suspension, no cancellation. Great customer service!

(Yes, that is tongue in cheek).

I recommend all small businesses avoid these guys like the plague. Unless you have the manpower to send out thousands of mailers, you won't get your money back that you spend for the service.

I had also unknowingly signed up for the 12 month commitment to sales genie...I thought it was month to month and really never even used it. I just spoke to them and explained the situation and they were very nice and immediately offered to cancel the account.

I was expecting them to threaten me with collections so i was very happily suprised.

Same thing happened to me today. I only needed 1000 addresses for a mailing so they told me to sign up for a month, get the 1000 contacts that I need and then cancel.

Called today to do so (with more than a week to go before the month is up) and they said I have a 12-month contract.

First mention of a "contract". Said they need a minimum of 30 days notice before I can cancel so auto billing will continue.

These folks are 100% liars, thieves and cheats. They will do anything and say anything to get you into a contract, then they turn the tables and deny what they said, BUT WILL hold you to the contract and turn you over to collections if you don't pay them.

STAY AWAY DO NOT be suckered like I was.

Salesgenie avoid it! They constantly change the site!

Earlier this year they didn't draft my payment for a couple of months and didn't shut off subscription or contact me that they didn't draft payment. It wasn't until I contacted them about it that they fixed it. Now this month they have taken 3 payments in the last 3 days at 150.00 a pop thats a lot of money. I had to cancel my debit card to make sure they didn't try to draft again.

Customer services is terible.

There has to be a better option out there. Their data base is great with only about a 10 percent error rate but not worth the headache.

I have had a contract of unlimited for the past 2 years, today I find out that they are limiting everyone to 1000 per month or depending on your average use. My use is over 20k per month. I have only had good things to say about their service, we will see how this one turns out.

I have had TWO contacts with Sales Genie.. I used them several years ago, and while the service was slow, and they were not very "customer friendly", I was generally satisfied.

I needed prospects again, so I entered into an agreement with them. This time I insisted on a cancel or suspend any time provision, which they agreed to. -

I won't bore you with all my frustrations this go-round, but suffice it to say, they've gone DOWN HILL.. My biggest issue is that they owe me a credit, and after several weeks of broken promises they still have not issued it..

All I get is a lot of double talk. It's only $150, but it belongs in MY bank, not in theirs. Beware if you use them, and I suggest you insist on a month-to-month contract; or a right to cancel or suspend. It seems to be up to the rep whether or not to write the deal that way.

ALSO, I asked for quotes on bulk names...

It was like pulling teeth getting a price, and the price I got was 2 or 3 times what I got from another source.

I also found a lot of misinformation on the consumer data base. :upset

Salesgenie.com is part of Infogroup. InfoGroup has another service called Reference USA and it's FREE through most local public libraries.

If you have a library card, you can get this service from home or from the library for FREE.I've been using Reference USA for 6 years now. The only hang up is that Reference USA allows you to download only 25 contacts at a time.

So if you want 100 contacts, you download 4 times. They have a database of 14 Million US Businesses.

Enjoy!

Avoid Salesgenie

I first used Salesgenie-Lite approximately two years ago. After about five months of ongoing frustration with Login username/password/returning user issues (I seemed to spend more time logging in than I spent using the program) I asked to have my subscription cancelled but was then told that I had to ride out a one year subscription. I negotiated a reduced rate for the remaining seven months. Salesgenie had a terrific database but the software that supported it was ruining too many days. In December 2009 I decided to try it again. I was told by sales rep, Roy Pourchez that I would not have the problems I had previously experienced. I told Roy Pourchez in December that I would have money in the bank on a specific date in late January, filled in and signed an agreement and asked him to call me before withdrawing the funds, to which he agreed. Subsequently, on the specific date, but before a call from Pourchez, Salesgenie withdrew $125 from my account. A day or two later I became aware of the withdrawal and tried to log in. Once again, same problem as a year earlier. I called for support and the matter was resolved. I then logged in again but found to my surprise and consternation that 1) the items selected did not contain the Profile presentation that had been available last year, and 2) that the response times were pathetically slow. I'm trying to make a living selling services. When I'm frustrated and angry, as use of the Salesgenie service was leaving me, I'm in no condition to sell anything. So, about 3 days after Salesgenie took my money, I asked them to give it back and cancel my subscription flat. It's been a week since then and still no credit back to my account. I would only recommend Salesgenie to people who enjoy suffering and wasting time.
