Pitiful Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On July 15, 2019, I tried logging into my Saint Leo account to retrive my transcripts to send to another institution for graduate school. Of course, I had to call the service or helpless desk.

The rude kid answered the phone stroked a few keys, said he could not help and transferred me to the registrar's office., which of course no one would answer the phone.

I completed two undergrad degrees and my MBA there.

Their attitudes and lack of professionalism is pathetic. I would never recommendSaint Leo to anyone.

Dining hall

The dining hall has the same food everyday and they refuse to change it, forcing most kids to not eat on the weekends because, their very short supply of good food. Once again awful, disgusting, dehumanizing, food.

The University Less than Saintly..

I completely agree that there is a sinister way of what should be straight forward problem solving issues from the administration. I applied to go there three years ago.

I submitted all the entrance documentation and waited to hear back. After a week I received a call from admissions department that I was accepted.. (Big deal... 95% are...) and I immersed myself into my studies.

With four classes left to complete, I received an Email forward from another student.. (Yes... Imagine that..) that he was sorry to bother me, but he had received my notice of suspension to his student email address and even though we shared the same last name, it was MY personal information that mistakenly sent to him...). I was immediately suspended until talking to a higher up in administration.

I was floored... And confused as to what they were referring to. Once I got the person who sent this email, he was blunt, condescending and arrogant. He informed me he had received an "anonymous" complaint from an individual who expressed my entire college prior education was fabricated.

(Yes... Such an active imagination on my behalf to "make up" my general associate degree and my pitiful political science degree because I had no idea when I was 23 what the *** I wanted to do..). Unfortunately, at the time of this "alleged" deceit on my behalf.. (Although, any and all university admissions have this little process called, Due Diligence, when they cross check information from prior universities to confirm prior GPA, dates attended, etc.), my family was heavily involved in the political arena running for public office.

I didn't then... And to this day, had and wanted none of the focus shot in my direction. I told my family to please not involve me because I know what a disgraceful process politics can be. I had completed their process and eagerly sent me my acceptance letter and pertinent information.

So, I decided to push ahead and try to receive my MBA.. (Here's the reality... Sorry folks... But do not seek this degree unless you are already employed and encouraged by your superiors to receive this degree because of the rewarding experience that will enable a promotion and raise..).

So, I receive the follow up phone call from one of the "important" decision makers that (he never acknowledged violating my private information by sending his dirt allegations to the other student..) he couldn't confirm the legitimacy of my transcripts from my alma mater and I was on immediate expulsion. I was floored and pissed off. By this point, I already had accumulated close to $22,000 in student loan debt and couldn't get ANY other employee there to elaborate the who, Whats, when, where And how. Since this is a private school, the recourse process and law protects the school almost entirely, and even an attorney couldn't get any cooperation or my attempt's to set the facts straight with more documented proofs.

This was so obviously a political railroad effort that resulted in my demise and lack of human decency. Now, I get around 4-8 call's daily about repaying my student loans.. (Here's another delicious fact.. I had recently paid off my prior student loans from the universities that I lied about..) bugging the *** out of me to repay this school that behaved in this manner and prevented me from completion.

I would NEVER encourage anyone to do post graduate studies here because once you get past the less than religious administration, the curriculum is lacking. My concentration courses for my major resulted in having the SAME professor for each class.

My mastered and superior knowledge journey also left me with a non fluent English speaking professor who had never practiced our profession in the United States. How do you like them apples?

Left me in collections over classes I never took

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

St Leo was not only over priced but it falsely advertised the online programs as flexible. Years after attending this university I received a collections letter for over $5000!!

As I recal I withdrew from my last semester AND made contact with school to ensure it was properly unenrolled.

I call the collections and they say the school is unwilling to take a penny less... I will be seeking an attorney if anyone knows of any?

I would not recommend this school. The department head allows professor to still carry on even after they've been informed of inappropriate comments and behaviors by professors.

They just want to keep your money, they don't respond timely to emails, use excuses that they don't receive your emails, deny receiving your online assignments that you worked so hard on and submitted. You spend all your time looking for the emails and writing emails to get clarification but it never happens. Then they start giving you the run around on who's supposed to handle the tuition reimbursement. They lie together against students who pay their salaries.

We must be smart as students and stand together to stop this mistreatment. They are supposed to be teachers, mentors and helping to guide us on the right path. They've been condescending, sarcastic and ignore your concerns. I was very disappointed and will file complaints and dispute my credit card charge since they didn't provide me a service that I paid for.

If necessary, I'll file a class action. Stand with me to get this educational institution to properly do their jobs and model for us what they expect from students. The majority of certain classes will struggle and be given conflicting information for assignments. Only one or two in the course will do well and get their questions answered, the rest will end up in a confused ball of stress, confusion, falling further and further behind and the professor creates it all, then admits to it, but then does nothing after he says he takes responsibility.

Why, I asked? That is discriminatory.

I have all the emails copied and pasted and looking for an attorney. I also blame the students for not standing together, they've helped create these monsters by allowing this!

It's so horrible that sometimes rude, ignorant, spoiled, upper 0.01%-er kids like this don't get everything they want just because they show up and throw a fit when someone doesn't conform to their delusional ideas about human behavior. It brings a tear to my eye every time a kid doesn't get treated with respect when they act like a complete brat, have no idea about interpersonal relationships, and think that just because they exist they're entitled to the fruits of everyone else's labor. You failed to state a single instance where anything happened to you at all; so instead of disputing charges and looking to start legal fights, you should have found somewhere to medicate yourself.

May be would be better to concentrate on your study instead of fighting the professors?

Obnoxious Professors is an Understatement

This school is very incompetent. The professors are very obnoxious and the classes are not consistent at all.

One class that was supposed to be more an easier class had twice as many assignments as a capstone. I would not recommend this school to anyone. The professors rarely respond to e-mails so good luck getting help with assignments.

I had trouble with several professors who would give assignments and then about a day before they were due, they would add more to the assignments. One professor even changed the way she wanted to grade assignments in the middle of the semester.

Saint Leo University is over paying faculty and staff.

Saint Leo University is over paying faculty and staff while accepting anyone to the private Catholic university. Adjunct instructors, are paid $2500 per course regardless of class size. Also, if the employee works as an Academic Advisor and adjunct instructor he/she is paid $37599 or more based on years with the university and the pay of $2100 and allowed to teach up to three courses. If the instructor is full-time the pay is an hourly rate at $275 to $350 based on seniority in addition to teaching online or onsite if doctorate degree is $2750 and Master is $2500. I attended this university and it was not as expected if a minority faculty tend to grade lower than Caucasians it depends on the department and location. However, I was a new freshmen from high school.

Dear Anonymous. It's obvious you never graduated from any university because your thought process is not very clear and concise.

What are you trying to get at? That minority processors grade differently or are you crabbing about the pay rate of these professors? What's it to you what they get paid? Whatever your gripe, it's A) none of your business what professors get paid B) however they grade is still none of your business.

If you failed or received a poor grade, that's on YOU, C) who they accept into the university is none of your business and D) It's a private college. They run much more different from any other institution. Since it's a private school, they can accept and deny anyone they want.

Good luck in the fast food service industry. I like my fries lightly salted.

Saint Leo University (BBB Score F)

I have filed a complaint against my college (Saint Leo University in Florida) with the BBB and the attorney general's office in that area and so far, the school refuses to respond. They already have an F with the BBB.

Below is part of the BBB report with the details of the situation (BBB had space limitations so some sentences were cut off:

I am a senior at Saint Leo University and I was set to graduate at the end of this semester. I enrolled to take my last class October 24, 2011. The first issue was that we did not receive access codes to our homework assignments until a week & ½ after classes started, so we were already behind. When we finally got in the class, the software would mark our answers wrong even if it was right.

The book does not explain how to do the problems, & it is laced with incorrect answers. The solution from the professor was to email him the ones we thought were right, wait for a response, & if the answers were wrong, redo the problem, send it back to him, & wait for another response. I already have trouble with math & learning this way, I felt like I was being set up for failure. I was not getting responses from my adviser Chanda Moore, so I had to send emails to people that I thought could help me.

I have an exchange of emails dating back to November where the entire class was complaining which I sent to faculty & staff that I thought could help us since my advisor offered no assistance. Eventually, I was just removed from the class & no one even told me. I found out because a student in class tried to send me an email & noticed my name wasn't there anymore, so she contacted me through my student email. Again I reached out to my adviser for answers; no response.

I called to see why I was dropped & they said I was removed from the class because that's what they thought I was asking for. If I had room to paste the email exchanges, you would see that I never once requested that because I wanted to be able to graduate on time so I could start the MBA.MKT program in Spring I as planned. The main issue that I have now is that I have to take this class before I can graduate & there are no other classes available to substitute this one. If this program cannot be revamped by Spring II or an alternate class is not put in place by then, I fear I will not graduate.

I have reached out to the course instructor, advisors at the school, several deans, the course developer, the president, and the vice president of the school & they keep giving me the run around. Everyone acknowledges that there is a problem; however, no one is offering solutions.

My whole educational process has been delayed & I am afraid the same thing will happen again if no one does anything before March! Sadly, there were several other students in the class that was supposed to graduate this semester too but had the same issues.

Wow, and here I thought I was the only one having issues with SLU. I have quite a story to tell myself it involves plagarism, and how the professor decides to nail me and let two other students off, AFTER he emailed three students the same email for plagarism.

I want to see that the professor is held accountable and the university says it cannot tell me. I am the one who demanded the investigation and they cannot tell me the outcome?!What?! I want answers and I am not getting them.

I have been a student at this school over over 6 years, never had a problem till now. I have invested to much time and money for my education to let this professor get away with making a mockery of me.

I am curious as to what happened with your plagarism case. I am in the mist of a Honor Code violation.

I am taking the Finance and Manageral Accounting course for my MBA degree. The professor never shows any proof of this allegation and still has not supplied any cause for this violation. The initial email states that he suspects me of violating the Honor Code on my homework assignments. Which we have had five weeks of homework assignments at that time.

The most I have done is seek online tutoring, which at last check was not a crime. I had asked the professor for help and he is pretty much useless, thats why I had to seek outside assistance for a better understanding of the concepts. He gave me two different options: fess up to cheating and receive all zeros on the homework assignments as of that week or fight it in front of the board and receive a F for the course and/or terminated from the program. Bottom line: It is extortion!

Besides this issue, I have been doing really well in the course which is making this case sound even more shady. In the beginning of the course the professor even stated that he catches two to three students cheating every class. And he makes it quite clear that he is on this board that I will need to meet in front of. I think I am being singled out given I am actually doing good in the course and to make his semester quota of accusing students.

So next week is my hearing about this case and I had to wait two extra weeks because of the holiday. I also have to take the day off from work, drive over three hours to the campus for this hearing and state my case and spend over three hours driving home. And the icing on the cake is that the hearing is taking place during the middle of week 8 (of a 8 week long course!) Needless to say I am looking for a new school to transfer. I wish I would have read the reviews of this school before attending and wasting my time and money!

However, I had chosen this school because of their dedication to the military.

This is not the only university in the U.S. who is dedicated to furthering the education of military personnel.

Sorry you had to go through that. I've had the same thing with me, but I won my case!

How do you have a computer class with no LABS?

Just writing 2 papers per week.... ludicrous
