Everything moves at the speed of smell

AI Highlights
  • - There was a 3-hour discharge/transport delay after dialysis.
  • - 2-week June/July 2024 extension; alleged neglect by NP Chanci A. Mascelli.
Updated by user Jan 10, 2025

Ghosted by Sacred Heart. No one taking responsibility for NP Chanci A. Mascelli's actions.

Original review Dec 29, 2024

The worst transportation in any facility. I waited for 3 hours to go back to my room from dialysis to get discharged from this hospital.

The ER doctor never consulted my Nephrologist in 11 hours, which made me stay an extra day. I stayed an extra 2 weeks in June/July 2024 because the Hospitalist changed almost every day. I was chemically abused and neglected by Chanci A.

Mascelli, the Nurse Practitioner. It was passive/aggressive abuse when I complained.

Pros:
  • Gift shop
Cons:
  • Everything else

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: Go to Shands Gainesville

Lab service

AI Highlights
  • - Lab office permanently closed without notice; no exterior signs.
  • - Parking was difficult; garage full, valet overwhelmed, and handicapped spaces limited.

I am 77 years old with mobility problems. I went to the lab office at milestone today and after struggling to get into get into the office I was advised that the lab was was permanently closed.

There was no advanced notice nor any sign on the exterior doors. I was sent to the main hospital or lab express on airport. After driving around the parking garage 8 time looking for a parking space I went to the valet parking which was overwhelmed with patients trying to access service. I then went to the airport office And the lot was full and insufficient handicapped parking space.

After driving from Cantonment, Fl the lack of available access is unacceptable. Tomorrow I will go to Baptist hospital, on Nine Mile Road to obtain services that I need for treatment at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Pros:
  • Happy with my doctor
Cons:
  • Terrible access for handicapped

Preferred solution: Better access for handiy

User's recommendation: Find a Hoapital with better access

Lack of service and availability of medical providers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Sacred can't retain doctors or NPs.
  • - No new staff leads to missed appointments and calls.
  • - I was told to go to urgent care; I am in constant pain.

Sacred is unable to retain doctors or nurse practitioners. Then they dont hire new staff.

This results in a patients inability to get a medical appointment or even a return phone call when you need help. Im sure the remaining employees are experiencing burn out when expected to try to accommodate this patient load.

When asked what I should do when Im on my third doctor in 5 years (1 retired, 1 moved and 1 doesnt return calls), Im told to keep going to urgent care. Ive spent the last 5 days in considerable and constant pain and cant get any help from these medical providers.

They obviously value profits over patient care.

Pros:
  • Local locations
Cons:
  • Lack of service

Preferred solution: A doctor that can make an appointment in less than 30-45 days when care is required now and offices that return calls.

User's recommendation: Find another provider

I feel I’ve held the truth long enough.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - 10 years at Sacred Heart Hospital with director changes.
  • - Directors abused me and tried to terminate me over disability and FMLA.
Original review updated Oct 17, 2021

I was employed at Sacred Heart Hospital for 10 years, and my department saw many changes as well as many directors coming and going. The first director I will mention, Stephanie Mendiola, verbally abused me and tried various avenues to terminate me because I have a disability and was placed on FMLA.

A second director, Fallon Holmes, who replaced Stephanie Mendiola went down the same road to have me terminated, even going so far as demanding my personal healthcare information. I was belittled and verbally abused by this department, Patient Transport, for being disabled and on FMLA which I had to use for numerous doctors appointments and sick leave. I was a good worker, played by the rules, and received awards for helping save a few lives alongside the real heros who are the nurses and doctors.

I havent ever forgotten the way I was treated and I still have bad dreams involving the verbal abuse I received from the aforementioned directors. No one deserves that at all.

Pros:
  • Helping people in need
Cons:
  • Being mistreated and looked down upon for having a disability

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: Do not ever let a boss or management threaten you or verbally abuse you just because you were born with a disability.

Doctors are decent but the workers and nurses are crap. Victim of motorcycle accident, emergency surgery titanium rods and screws as well as numerous fractures left to heal.

Pain meds were not regularly timed. One hour late, thirty mins late, common. Unprofessional and uncaring and because of a lack of workers, the crap people know they have job security so complaints to admin are ignored.

Security is same. This place has numerous suits filed against it.
