Defective Stun Gun & Poor Customer Service
- - The SABRE stun gun wouldn’t turn on and the flashlight failed.
- - It shocked me when set down, leaving numbness for about 10 minutes.
My husband purchased a SABRE Stun Gun for me. When I took the dogs out in the middle of the night one night, the stun gun would not turn on...I tested it (several times) and the stun part did not zap nor did the flashlight work...I just thought it needed to be recharged.
When I came inside and went to set the stun gun down, it shocked me. I was not pressing the button nor was I touching the metal strips on the side at the top...my hands are small and it's physically impossible for me to do that when griping the handle. I threw the stun gun and my hand went numb for about 10 minutes. I contacted the manufacturer and they gave me the runaround about replacing it.
They said they would and then they said they would only if they determined that something was wrong. Something was clearly wrong or I wouldn't have contacted them...why would I do that if nothing was wrong with the stun gun? I've wanted to test it again but my husband had a heart attack 15 years ago and he should not do it. I had an irregular heartbeat after that incident and I don't want to do it...I'm afraid to even touch it.
A friend was going to do it since they are coming for Thanksgiving but a month ago, he found out he has heart problems. I am not sure how to get it tested. Anyway, I would say that Sabre / Sabrered is not a trustworthy company. If they were a trustworthy company, they would have just replaced it and then tested the bad one.
I will continue to tell everyone not to buy their product and I will continue to post negative reviews.
For me to have gotten hurt and for the company to care less is absolutely horrible. Companies need to do better.better with the products they make and sell and better with customer service.
User's recommendation: I would recommend not to buy a SABRE Stun Gun.
No Warranty or customer service
- - Sabre 41631 stun gun/flashlight initially worked.
- - Stun function stopped; flashlight still works.
- - Filed warranty claim; no response after 72 hours.
I bought a sabre stun gun/flash light model 41631 2 months ago, I registered it with them for warranty purposes, did what they told me on the information package when i received it. It worked the first time I tested it, I never played with it to exhaust the stun capability, the flashlight works great.
I wore it on my belt with the clip on the flash light, someone asked me to see it work i tried it and it did not produce the stun part of the unit. I thought it was dead which would be impossible i kept it on charge when i was not wearing it, i only wore it about three times.
I went to their website and filled out a claim, and never received a response within the 72 hour time frame, I sent 3 more requests in after the allotted time period and still no response to this day. This makes me mad that i bought an expensive flash light, and that they brag on their website about providing the utmost satisfaction for their customers, they just took my money and do not care.
- No warranty no customer service
Preferred solution: Full refund

My husband had purchased the Sabre S-1009 stun gun for me. We had only turned it on about five or six times and zapped it twice (into the air to see if it is working).
One night around midnight, I took our dogs outside and I had taken the stun gun with me. The flashlight wouldn't turn so I tested to see if it would zap and nothing. I tried several times and still...nothing. I just thought it had lost its charge.
When I came back in and went to set it down, it shocked me. I am pretty sure I had turned it off (but possibly not...either way, it should not have mattered). I was holding just the handle.....I was not touching any part of the metal strips on the side of the top part. My hand is small and it's impossible for me to be holding the handle and to touch the metal at the same time.
I definitely know that I was not pressing down on the red button. I never would have guessed that there would have been any possibility of getting shocked. It was strong enough that I had dropped / threw the stun gun. It hurt pretty bad and my hand went numb for about 10 minutes.
It’s clearly defective and I don’t know that by testing the taser part several times with nothing happening caused it to build up a charge and then it happened to go off as I was setting it down. I have no idea what happened or why it would shock my when I was just holding the handle and was not pressing the button. I contacted Sabrered about four times before they finally responded back to me (that is problematic when they just ignore you when you’re been injured by one of their products). I tried to exchange it and over the phone I was told they would exchange it but in writing (in an email), they said they would only exchange it if they found something wrong with it.
Why would I have contacted them if there was nothing wrong with it. They should have sent me a replacement along with a return envelope / box so that I could send the defective stun gun back to them. In my opinion, sabered is not a trustworthy company. I will never buy anything from them ever again.
I have told everyone I know about this situation and I will continue to tell anyone in the future that I meet and I will continue to leave negative feedback for this company.
I just wanted it replaced and they refused to do that. Someday when I get the courage, I will test it and if I get shocked again…at least I will have proof especially if I get injured from it.
