Extremely poor customer service and reliability
Scheduled an appointment with this company on 7 June @ 8 am through 10 am. The company never showed up for the service.
When I called the company to ask why they never showed up. The response I received was that they tried to call me and because I could not reply, because I was at work and we are not allowed to carry and use personal phones at work. But they never told me that when they call if no one replies then they automatically cancel the appointment. My wife was at home and took off work (So me and my wife lost income to allow this company to provide a service that was previously agreed on.
And I talked to the Service Manager and he said it is the company policy that when we call on the day of service and no one answers, they automatically cancel the appointment. But not all people have the ability to use personal phones at their place of emoyment. The service Manager was rude, and made the comment he did not care that me and my wife was out of income because we had my wife stay home from work, to allow them to work on the unit. I told him my wife was at the house, and could they still send a technician out to my home today.
The service manager told me no, because the company would loose out on money. If thus company has a policy that says when to call you on the day of service and no one answers, then they need to let customers know that when they set up the appointment. All I was told when I made the appointment was make sure someone over the age 18 was their during the time frame of the appointment. And my wife was at the residence from 8 am until 12:30.
The appointment was from 8 am through 13 pm and no one showed up from this company at my home. It is my opinion that this company, doesn't care about its customers, and their service is the worst I have ever encountered in 56 years. Even though they claim they are cheaper then most other Heating and Air Conditioning. Well that's might be true but you get what you pay for.
And since they are cheaper then others is because as you can tell by their reviews, you get cheap units that will give you alot of troubles, and their customer service is horrible. Again my advice is to stay away from this HVAC company

Overall company service
Purchased a changeout RUUD system in 2015 from SA Specialties. Very good price as replacement for original system.
Fast and seamless installation. Company dropped price of system 6 months later and I decided to replace my other system although it was still working. Had no problems or issues until this week when both units stopped working. SA Specialties had a technician out late the same day I called.
The technician, Kevin advised me that the condenser motors on both units had died and would have to be replaced. Since it was not a stock item, the motors would have to be ordered and he did not know when they would be available. So we had to endure hot night number two since both units had shut down. The company called me the next morning and advised me that the motors had been secured and that the technician could install them that day.
He came out that afternoon and within 3 hours of his arrival, my inside temperature went from 84 to 76. Every encounter I have had with SA Specialties has been outstanding. I only wish the RUUD units were nearly as good.
Two motors failing on the same day less than 5 years old seems like an inferior product. Thankfully the warranty is good.

Servicing unit
Kevin has been servicing our unit for two years and we are extremely happy with his service and any suggestions he may have. Hopefully, he will continue to service our unit many years to come.
More than met expectations
In July, 2018, SA Specialties came out and installed an inside and outside 16 sear unit. I had a couple of questions due to an issue just hours after installation, but the service tech came after hours that day and immediately solved the issue. They have different finance plans with zero interest which was extremely helpful.
The salesman came out and gave me his advice for a new unit for my size home. He followed up with me a couple times after the unit was installed. A city rebate was issued less than a month and my utility bill went down due to the efficiency of the model I selected.
Now here we are at the end of November, and I am so happy with the AC/Heat unit that I would definitely recommend

Under 2 years and several warranty calls already
It's been almost a month since our last warranty call and so far so good (this time). The guys they had install our unit are no longer with them I would hope.
Senior techs had to come out and fix their screw up on the install. The original guys also replaced the ducts & added insulation in the attic, of which I would love to get a 2nd opinion on since it was the same 3 as the original install, all stumbling over one another like a clown comedy show.
Our advice: Keep up with purchasing your yearly maintentance agreement with them, you'll probably need it even before you pay off your unit if you financed. We would never recommend them and have already needed a plumbing call but wouldn't dare call S.A. Specialties.
The girls on the phone are one of the few positive experiences. So for that, we thank you.
Service Contractor Oscar
I was very pleased with Oscar the service contrsctor today. He came out and replaced the motor on the outside unit.
And the motor was covered under the warranty too. I had no problems with him today. He was very polite and was very professionally today too. I am very pleased with everyone at SA SPECIALTIES Everytime I call the company the staff in the office are always friendly and polite and professionally to me over the phone.
I would highly recommend SA SPECIALTIES them to anyone who is in need of a new A/C UNIT.
So, if anyone is looking for a new A/C inside and outside this is the best company to get from. I give them A+++++ AND A 4STAR *****

So called company they sent
A tech he said turn off and leave off for THE WHOLE NIGHT
(Sweat to death in other words)
Because he sd system completely frozen up w/3 inches of ice and would take at least 8 hrs to defrost and had to stay that way so they could diagnose problem the next morning
So called company and spoke to Jim and asked if they had loaner portable a/c units for this type of situation
Of course he sd not authorized to offer any thing like that....
The owner though was in his nice cool home with my money so what the hey! No skin off his back....
So finally next day another tech came and sd had some kind of a bad valve and said he fixed
He was here for at least 3hrs
But also had to correct another unrelated issue
So the unit worked for 3 whole days and BAM it started again today....
Called company and was impressed that they had a tech here within the hour..... (Same one that fixed) BUT!
He looked at everything and said could find NO PROBLEMS!!!!
In the meantime my thermostat is set on 70 and it is 76 and rising in my house with 58 percent humidity!!!
No problem my butt!
So this thing will probably get to 80 or more degrees in my house tonight while owner stays cool in his house
I know things can go wrong but when you pay a LOT of money for something that does not work then the company should have some type of loaner units
To ensure customer is comfortable until they can figure out what is going on!!

purchase complete ac system in 2012, 2015 first service, 4/2016 technician (roy) came to service my unit. low on freon, due to a leak.
i pay for a leak search fee and 4 lb. of freon. 8/2016 my ac is not cooling, roy and travis show up to my house. there is another leak and low on freon..
roy advice to pay for a leak search charge and more freon. i told roy will talk to supervisor , not happy by paying for double service. as i was talking to rosemary , roy and travis left. rosemary ask me to pay for the service charge today and will discount leak charge fees.
however it needs to be scheduled for next Tuesday... they will make me wait till Tuesday.. to get it check and fix.. I'm not happy for the wait.
i request to talk to supervisor name jim.... jim can not do anything till next Tuesday take or leave it...(terrible attitude and service). i just pay $50.00 service charge, which it left my system undone, air filter out, wire undone...
roy couldn't fix it today because of attitude problem..
he had the equipment to fix it. but Rosemarie and jim excuse him of not having the equipment and equipment malfunction...
not very happy, i can't wait till Tuesday.................................

S.A. Specialty AC Rips Customers Off
Beware of this air conditioning company! We did our due diligence getting written bids from several HVAC companies in town, S.A.
Specialty came in with what we thought was a very fair price. The contract stipulated the equipment and we were told that it was all inclusive for changing out our existing heat and air unit. On installation day, everything was fine until they removed our old system and took it out to the driveway. Suddenly they wanted to add on charges for all sorts of things that were supposed to be included.
It's over 90 degrees outside and my old system worked fine. They blackmailed us into paying over $1000 in "extras". They told us that they would let us out of our contract if we wanted, but they would charge $1275 to reinstall our old system. It's a holiday weekend and we could not get anyone else to come out and install the old system.
We gave in and paid their "extras", however we want to warn anyone else about these crooks!
Their "contract" is worthless.

THE COILS DON'T LAST AS THEY SHOULD ON THE RUUD CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONERS.
I am having that problem now for the exact same thing.. My unit is only 3 years old and all of a sudden it started to freeze and not cool.
I was down 8!!!!! Pounds of freon and had not noticed any changes in temperature until the very day it froze. How is that even possible???? $50 a pound.....The parts are covered but not the labor (which is about$1500) and they are going to charge $278 to do a leake search!!!!!!
Ridiculous. My other unit lasted 17 years before I had trouble.
I change my filters and service regularly. I am beyond pissed about the cost.
