Bought townhome in 2015. Built in 1996. All materials used are the cheapest. Replaced all electrical outlets and switches. Switches were not grounded. Extra wall switches installed that are not connected to anything. Of course, the county signed off on all this...

Too late for me
I've been in my Ryan home since Jan 2014. I decided to get gas heat instead of electric all through the house. It has been the worst experience. They need a better setup system for the gas furnace so that the condensation that has to leak doesn't freeze. When that...

We just went and looked at one of there "move in ready" homes. The floor plan was awesome.

They got that right. As far as the craftsmanship of the home itself; total ***. Looks good from far away and then when you go in for a closer look at detail, etc, you WILL notice major errors with fit and finish. This includes shoddy drywall work/finishing, corner beads, seams.

The worst part is the finish carpentry, i.e. Baseboards, window and door casings. What really got me was most of the doors in the house wouldn't even close. And to top it off the staircase railing and tie ins to baseboards was the worst I've seen.

I can go on and on... These are not fit for investment; more like money pits.

Not cool but I guess there are suckers born every minute to buy these which is really a shame. Definetly won't be supporting their business model of cutting corners, using bottom of the barrel materials, site management, workers and tradesmen.

I was about to go ahead in building my first home with this company. They offered some 'free' upgrades if I use NVR mortgage. Then, I talked to NVR mortgage officer. Then I smelled that there is something fishy. Their rates are high, their closing costs are more than...

Pricing issue
Bought a Ryan townhome and within the year, had so many nail pops in it that it required 9 hours of work by two professionals to fill the holes and fix the imperfections that were left in the wall when painting was completed. Now, 4 months after the repair of the nail...

I had a similar issue. Turns out the framing was bad, which is why the drywall consistently fails.

Ryan Homes actually jacked up my house because the framing was so poor that the frame was literally sinking inside the house. Still so many issues though. Patch, repair, paint.

Over and over and over again.

the house is pretty and hopefully structurally sound...... my biggest regret w/this purchase is that we have had to replace everything in side this house to include bathroom fixtures, door knobs, wood trim, light fixtures, mailbox flags, hard wood floor boards, door...

I have a site dedicated to do what you said, which is making sure their time will come for doing this stuff so long. Maybe there isn't just one truth that described them, but cheap would be what I'd say if I had to use only one word.

Been exposing this over ten years through a dedicated site. You can add your comments there too and more than double your exposure.

The site is currently called The Truth About Ryan Homes and is normally #2 when doing a generic Google search on Ryan Homes. They are constantly trying to push Pissed Consumer off the top search pages, along with my site to cover up who they really are.

Ryan Homes in Richmond, Virginia - Very Displeased with Ryan

I will like to say I have lived in Kingsridge Rd in Eastern Henrico since June 1, 2008 and very unhappy. It was always an issue, it took about a year to get pavement, we had to drive on rocks, constantly g et service on cars for the unpaved parking lot. Then the builder went bankrupt. Then I then started getting a leak from my master bathroom, this was told to me that it was my fault because I didnt caulk my bathroom... Then just recently my closet fell down, nobody tells you how much can be stored, then once it falls, you can tell they didnt use a stud finder because it was on air, not proffesional at all. Now washing machine *** broke, now I have a flood. So I'm calling customer service and continue to get a voicemail. Less then two years and so many problems, If you can help it, dont buy with Ryan, good name but not quality work, take it from my experience

Just so you know Simpson, you should take your own advice. English begins with a capital letter.
