I bought Ryan home. what a big mistake. they hide how to contact corporate office. today 9/12/2014 .I have replaced a window costing @237.00. the window cracked as it was std glass sachet in an under size frame. the compression caused the crack. 2nd window frame has frame cracked all 4 corners. A 3rd half crescent glass has white paint splash all over in the inside of double pane Genesee glass. Ryan contractor told me that there is nothing he can do. as they got sealed framed window from factory. and it is over one year old. COULD SOMEBODY HELP ME. No call from Ryan home district mgr yet????.May God help us.

my morning room window shattered today from the inside out . Nothing hit it , simply cracked and spidered out of no where .

I know far too well how hard it is to deal with them . Arent windows covered under their own warranty?

sorry, but you should have purchased quality windows. I am not saying the most expensive windows

or that they should have all have been custom, but windows is not where you should try to save money.

you should have purchased windows with a guarantee.

Windows is not where you should try to save.

I am guessing you were on a budget when you built. Homes always cost more than you are told they will

or you calculate they will. No, I am not a builder. I am just a woman who built a home in 1983 and will

probably start another one next spring.

(we have had 3 in between). Love the experience. I suggest you try to contact the maker of the windows. If they will not do anything, save enough money to replace the bad windows and count your blessings.

Meanwhile enjoy your home, forget the negative. .

@LOVESCATSWOMAN

I'm not the original poster, but I wanted to respond to your comment. Building a house in 1983 is not like building a house in the 2000s.

Ryan Homes is not a custom builder, but a builder that offers customized choices, and the TYPE of windows that you get in your home is not one of those choices. Those are standard features which the builder installs on all of their homes.

My Husband and I were in the process of trying to purchase a Tri Level Home in Chesapeake, Virginia through builder Ryan Homes, prior to actually filling out the application they would call us all the time stating that certain incentives were available if we signed...

My family had a very similar experience not too long ago! In chesapeake, virginia also!

Ryan homes representatives lied to us from day one.

We ended up rescinding the contact within 24 hours of signing it. Ryan homes still cashed our good faith deposit, even though it was rescinded within the 72 hour window. So we are still dealing with them.

Their incentives are actually in the standard features list, so make sure you check that before they tell you that it is free just for a particular time!

We have been getting contacted by the ryan homes rep just about everyday.

Asking why we left, if we found a new house, what we are paying with the new house, saying that ryan homes will match it, etc. we have just stopped responding to these harassing messages.

I would say if you are checking out ryan homes you better have a realtor and a good one at that! Ask a lot of questions, even if they get flustered! Make sure you get pre qualified before accepting their crazy overpriced quotes!

And do your research!

Good riddance, ryan homes.

I have been in my Ryan Home for about 6 months now and I love it. I was a little scared about the process after reading the reviews online but my experience was great. My sales rep Josh was knowledgeable and courteous. Other than a few minor nail pops which are common...

I just built a Ryan Home in Webster and we have been in for about a year now. We did have some minor issues with drywall and a horrible paint job but Ryan fixed most of it.

We worked with Josh as well and he was really honest and great to work with.

We still stop in to see him. I agree that you can’t always believe what you read.

Thanks for writing an AD on "PISSED CONSUMER" I know for a fact this company is screwing people over now, even sickening them, and doing all possible to cover it up, as construction defects can and do become toxic. But it wasn't you, so who cares, right?

They do have a review site just for happy people that doesn't allow real complaints.

But it doesn't serve to bury thousands of people who had or have real problems, which is entirely the reason why you posted here. A ploy that will have consequences to Ryan Homes, but they are too arrogant to know it, just as before.

Ryan Homes in Toledo, Ohio - Plumbing in the Furnace!

Decided to remove the very last of the 70's wall paper in the half bath / closet on the first floor... found mold behind the baseboards and some moldy drywall .. cut out the drywall and imagine finding the water pipe for the toilet running up the cold air return!!! I will be drilling *** through the floor and moving said pipe.. ripping up the moldy sub floor and replacing the toilet. I also found a large rectangle of drywall cut out of the large piece behind the sink .. completely taped up with duct tape (I have no idea why) and then they wallpapered right over it! This house has been one accident waiting to happen since it was built. We are the 3rd owners.. Roof had FOUR nails (one in each corner) of every 4 x 8 sheet of plywood on the roof! This is a link to my fb album of the kitchen reno.. what a MESS!! Don't EVER buy a Ryan Home!!! https://www.facebook.com/anna.l.carpenter.7/media_set?set=a.10203412730508838.1529460325&type=3

Ryan Homes in Buffalo, New York - Illegal wiring

When we went to do some landscaping we hit electrical wires going to the lamp post out in front of our yard.We only went down " TWO "inches. The code in New York is 18 inches in conduit or 24 inches with UF wiring. If our dog dug *** and grabbed the wire he would be dead now. When we called Ryan Homes they said it wasn' their problem. We called the subcontractor who did the work and he had no idea what the code is. Bottom line, DO NOT buy a Ryan Home. I will not even get into the nail pops or poor workmanship.

I rented a Ryan Home in Lebanon Ohio's Shaker Run, 3 toilets leaked during our time there, the dryer and exhaust fan from half bath where vented to the basement thru a whole in the floor, where the furnace was at. Air conditioner went out 3 times in 3 years, and furnace went out more times than I can count.

All outside faucets broke and leaked into basement. Gee, I would never buy a Ryan Home.
