Lack of communication. Very difficult to reach.

Good luck speaking to Mr. Kress.

If you happen to get a hold of him is as if he just wants to hang up. Many red flags.

Rubens and Kress law firm did a magnificent job for me

Original review Apr 15, 2015

I wish I could recant a prior negative review about Rubens and Kress and in particular Frank D. Kress.

Yesterday at a trial in Urbana, IL is got an opportunity to see the work Mr. Kress is doing and has done on my behalf.

Mr. Kress's demeanor, knowledge and application skills are second to none. Every aspect of Kress's work is a skilled operation.

I just wish I had seen this side of Kress's work before posting anything negative.

Mr. Kress has my permission to share my phone number (Anthony) with anyone who asks for it to check the nophoniness of this post

It seems you are posting this out of repercussions. I've read your review in so many sites.

You were a red flag. Something doesn't seem right.

Be real careful here...tread easy.

This is Feb. 21, 2015 on February 17 my wife and I drove 650 miles from Great Bend, Ks to Urbana, Il. for a work comp hearing. I drove that distance for about a fifteen minute hearing my attorney Frank D. Kress said I needed to testify at in my Work Comp dispute.

Now............we have to go back April 14, 2015 for another hearing.

I am going to be perfectly frank about this dispute with Frank D. Kress and I will simplify as much as possible for accuracy so as not to be sued. This wouldn't surprise me. The dollar figure I posted above was in the $25,000 range...we got it down to 16, 500

My dispute, for legal reasons, is with Frank D. Kress. Not one time have I met Jason Rubens or any other of the staff at Rubens and Kress. They probably do a fine job.

For about four years from February 2011 to April 24, 2014 I was under disability and off work covered by Work Comp in Illinois. On May 13, 2011 I had left shoulder surgery that didn't quite get the job done. I needed one more piece of surgery and this time AIG insurance denied the necessity of the surgery. For about 2.75 years while I was still getting monetary disability payments, AIG never paid one thin dime for anything....I mean nothing... anything... nada....zero including the most simple of all medications TRAMADOL.

In March of 2014 it looked like we were going to trial....so out of my own pocket I paid for xrays and an MRI so as to have something concrete to take before the WORK COMP COMMISSION in Illinois.

Low and behold...there it was. For about two and a half years and at times screaming out in paid due to a torn rotator cuff.

My attorney Frank D. Kress never, did you hear me, not one time pressed for a motion in court to get AIG, the world's largest insurance company to pay up for just basic services.. Not one time.

At time of settling the case, I told my attorney I had only two stipulations. !. Was the monetary amount and that was done OK. 2. The medical...I asked that the (insurance we'll call it) be in place and ready for me to have surgery. Mr. Kress settled the case knowing that stipulation number 2 was not obeyed by him or AIG Insurance Co. Did you catch what I said ? He violated a "cardinal rule" in lawyership in that he settled this case against against my expressed expressed instructions.

After two months of waiting for the surgery I went ahead with the surgery in mid-August on my own with the assurance by Frank D. Kress that I could just pay myself back the $16,000.00. The money didn't get in till mid-November. The money was put into a Medicare Set Aside account that only pays for "future medical needs" so Medicare won't get hit with a Work Comp problem. Like I said, it only pays for future needs and not past needs......... leaving my $16,000.00 unpaid for.

All of this is because Mr. Kress violated one of the cardinal rules in lawyership "NEVER SETTLE A CASE AGAINST THE EXPRESS (E-MAIL PROVABLE) "INSTRTUCTIONS" ....INSTRUCTIONS OF THE CLIENT (ME). Had Mr. Kress on April 24, 2014 done his job in doing his Fiduciary responsibility, I would not be out $16,000.00 today. Granted I got a check for only $13,280.00 bur I cannot touch that money except for left shoulder injury purposes.

I will stop here as it is upsetting and the issues keeps dragging on. Mr. Kress till this day see where he has done nothing wrong. For legal purposes, this is the way things stand on February 21, 2015

What I have posted is the absolute truth and nothing but the truth

Be careful in the attorney you hire...cretetony@***.con

This law firm, in my e-mail provable, has potentially cost me big time

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This is cretetony@***.com. I used the law firm of Rubens and Kress in Chicago. I have several hundred (this might tell you something) e-mails from Frank D. Kress, partner in this law firm.

I never had one contact with Jason Rubens of this firm. Mr. Rubens might be perfectly fine.

Mr. Kress's actions in my Work Comp Case in Illinois has potentially, as of this moment, cost me $25,000 through his lies or incompetence. $25,000 of my disability and retirement monies.

Getting me to sign off on my Work Comp settlement, April '14, forgiving past medical bills and future medical bills with my former employers insurance co. ... I was led, and I have e-mail proof, to go ahead with an intended surgery and that a (google Medicare Set Aside...MSA)"Medicare Set Aside" arrangement was in place with a lump sum settlement to cover the surgery. What I found out later is FIRM with Medicare: An MSA is ONLY FOR FUTURE MEDICAL BILLS "from the date of approval by Medicare of the MSA. In other words, the surgery wasn't / isn't covered as of right now. For six months and many, many e-mails Mr. Kress said the money is on the way. The surgery cost (good ball park) $25,000 and the check I got was for $13, 280 ...and that check is now useless because it does NOT cover the past bills. Mr. Kress said last week, mid-January of 2015, that he was going to file a petition 8A with the Illinois Work Comp Commission (manual) to try and get Work Comp to force the insurance company to pay up on the $25,000. I am sure this won't work.

I now live in Great Bend, KS and it is so hard to get back to Illinois to fight this. I could go on for a long time provably about this, but you get my drift on this case. Just be careful and use a good review site (I checked too late) like avvo.com. if you need legal services.

Like I said, this cretetony@***.com in Great Bend, KS if you need input from me.

If this e-mail sounds far fetched, I go to Grace Community Church here in Great Bend. The pastoral staff know of this case and can vouchsafe for my trustworthiness. Blessings to you
